HT204384 SD card slot not recognizing card

I have inserted and reinserted and reinserted my SD card into my laptop. But it still isn't working. I have tried all the normal tricks. Blowing on it etc. I think it may have broken...is this possible? How much will it cost to fix it?

When you insert your SD Card, see if you can see it in Disk Utility.  If you can see it there, then format/erase that SD Card in MAC OS Extended Journaled if you're not using it for anything else or use FAT or exFat if you'll be using it with Windows.  FAT if you're using it for your Digital Camera.

  • Wireless card in PC slot not recognized by Airport software

Since upgrading to Tiger from 10.3.9, I have not been able to use my wireless card (MacWireless cardbus 802.11g) in my PB G4 667 after I eject the card and reinsert. The PC Card menu item recognizes the card, but not Airport. If I leave the card in and put the machine to sleep, Airport will recognize the card. It's only when I turn off Airport, power off the card, and eject it to transport my laptop that I can't get Airport to work. The only solution is a restart. This worked fine under 10.3.9, but now is broken. I have tried deleting my preferences (which MacWireless support recommended) at:
    Library/Preferences/System Configuration/preferences.plist
But that does not help either.
    Powerbook G4 667   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

But is there any reason that the card isnt getting power, there are no green lights on the end of the card like there was when it worked. I still do have my IOXperts driver under other. But when I click it all values in status is N/A. The diagnostics button when pushed shows ""Diagnostics: Firmware versions: (Blank). Il try what you say but I dont think the pane is the issue.

  • Airport Card Not Recognized on iMac DV 400 SE Slot Loading

I just installed an airport card with adapter per Apple's instructions. It is not recognized in the Network list in System preferences. Internal Modem is listed as well as Built-in-Ethernet (with an active Internet connection). Has 10.3.9 and the latest Airport software updates.
It was taken from a working iMac and installed in my iMac. Any idea what the problem might be?

Will do. Thanks for the advice.
This computer is somewhat of a cultural icon. One of the first computers configured out of the box for video editing. On a Contour stand, 130 Gb HD, 1 GM ram. Still very functional after 8 1/2 years. Looks great in the studio. Just wanted to wean it from it's ethernet connection.

  • GeForce4 TI Video Card Not Recognized Anymore?

For about almost a year, the fan on the GeForce4 TI video card would occasionally make a grinding noise, although it has always been easily fixed by lightly sticking a finger on the fan to stop it for a second and it would go back to normal.
However, about a month ago this little fix stopped working. The grinding noise was unbearable. After searching the Internet for a few minutes, I found out that I wasn't the only one suffering from this problem, and some even offered tips on how to replace the fan.
I followed the steps very carefully and made sure the card was not harmed. After installing the new fan, which was very easy, I stuck it back into the Power Mac and boot it up. However the monitor didn't find a signal.
I was glad that I installed Remote Desktop on the Power Mac so I was able to connect to it and see what's going on. I opened Apple System Profiler and noticed that the computer isn't properly recognizing the graphics card anymore! Instead of the very detailed information I'm used to seeing, this is what I saw below:
    pci10de,a:
    Type: VGA-Compatible Controller
    Bus: AGP
    Slot: SLOT-1
    Vendor: nVIDIA (0x10de)
    Device ID: 0x252
    Revision ID: 0x00a3
I have no clue what this means as it seems like the computer still recognizes A video card. Also this also gave me the impression that the Power Mac is missing the drivers, but that's impossible as I haven't touched the software on the hard drive and nVidia drivers are part of OS X.
If the card is broken then fine, I'll take my losses and buy a new one as I would hate to just throw the computer away since it still more than fulfill my needs. But I just hope the AGP slot isn't broken.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Just for clarification:
You have two systems based on the same MS-7008 mainboard, correct? Both use the same BIOS Version?
In one system, the card is functioning, running in AGP 3.0 Mode x8 and in the other, same mainboard model, what are the symptoms of "video card not recognized" besides the AGP 2.0 Mode x4 limitation?
I mean, if you can see the BIOS Setup, the card is putting something out on the screen, right?

  • Why are my PXI cards not recognized by Windows or MAX?

I have a PXI-1045 chassis connected to a PC through MXI-4.  When I turn the chassis and PC on with a PXI card in slot 2, the message "Windows could not load the installer for DAQDevice.  Contact your hardware vendor for assistance." appears, and the PXI card is not recognized (it is scene by Windows as an unidentifiable PCI Devices, though I have a DAQmx installed).
    More details:
    Windows XP
    LabVIEW 8.0 installed
    TestStand 4.0 installed
    Latest DAQmx 8.XX installed
    NI Scope installed
    NI CAN installed
MXI-4 PCI card installed in PC and recognized by Windows (as PCI-PCI bridge, and MXI-4 Device)
I identified PXI chassis 1045 in MAX and on subsequent boot up saw that MAX complained about pxisys or some other ini file (in the chassis status area of the screen) so I configured it as 'other' then put in the PXI-resorce CD and selected the ini file for PXI-1045, MAX no longer complains about pxisys and instead says the chassis is configured properly
If I have nothing but the PXI MXI-4 card installed in the PXI system and boot up the chassis then the PC, I get no errors
If I have a card in slot two (I've tried PXI-6509 Industrial Digital IO, PXI-2569 Relay Module, and PXI-5102 Digital Oscilliscope) and boot the chassis then PC, the message "Windows could not load the installer for DAQDevice.  Contact your hardware vendor for assistance." shows up when Windows boots and Windows sees a PCI Device but can't identify any drivers for it.

    Hello,
Can you post a screenshot of the problem? Are you switching on the chassis first or the PC? Please make sure that you switch ON chassis and then boot the PC. This typically happens when you have a corrupted installation.  I would suggest downloading the latest version of driver from here and re-installing it.
Please uninstall all the driver software from computer before installing the new software.

  • 400 mhz G4 PB not recognizing Airport card

HELP!!! i'm a PC girl learning Mac, and bought a used G4 powerbook to try it out. I then purchased a used Airport card to go wireless. However the computer is not recognizing the card. It is installed correctly- barcode up, all the way in, but no go. Is there anyway to test (like will a trip to the Apple store help or will they look at me like i'm from the dark ages?) the computer or the card? I was going to attempt to harvest the card from my snow base station but don't have a star tip for my screwdriver to get into the thing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!! THANKS!

Thanks brody. That is the card I have. I was guessing at the OX I have as I bought this machine used and truly have no idea where to find half the stuff much less what it is. since I figured out where to find it, I'm running 10.4.11.
I appreciate everyone's help. I've had the hardest time figuring out just which model I have. i've yet to find a picture just like it. I'm not even sure it's a 12, since dummy me didn't realize they're like tv's and measured diagonally. I think it might actually be a 15 inch if that makes a difference. 2 hinges in the back, all the ports in the back under a cover (I must have looked rather comical until I figured that one out) card slot is on the left side, dvd drive in the front. I was told it was a titanium but honestly it didn't matter to me so I didnt' check to make sure. I just wanted something relatively cheap to see if I really liked a mac before i plunked down a couple of thousand on a new one. It wasn't until I had trouble with the card that I found out all these different ones existed.
also, it looks like there are actually 2 slots to the card reader, although I cannot access it from the battery bay. The slot I can access that the card does actually fit in is from the left outside. the other slot is under it (I can see it with the keyboard off and the card removed) and looks as thought the card would be inserted similar to the one i can use, except the body of the powerbook is in the way. I'm afraid to do much more than I have hardware wise as my PC kicked the bucket so this is my only working computer right now. Let me know what you guys think!!
    THANKS!!!

    Hello
If you download SD memory Card driver from Toshiba download site there you can find readme.txt file. There is a explanation how to install the Toshiba SD Host Controller and SD Memory Card Driver.
    How to install:
The SD host controller driver should be installed first. After installing the SD host controller driver,we can install the SD memory card driver. Each driver can be installed as follows operations.
    For SD host controller driver,
    Windows2000/XP
    1. From [Start] menu, select the [Settings], then click on the [Control Panel].
    2. Double-click on [System] and choose the [Hardware] tab.
    3. Click on [Device Manager].
    4. Double-click on [Base System Device].
    5. Choose the [Driver] tab and click on the [Update Driver] button.
    6. Click on [Next] and choose [Display a list of the known drivers...].
    7. Click on [Next] and select [Network adapters] in [Hardware types].
    8. Choose the [Have Disk] button.
    9. Locate the folder "{CD-drive}: Toshiba SD Host Controller Driver" and follow the instructions on the screen.
    10. Finally, restart the Windows.
    For SD memory card driver,
After installing SD host controller driver,
    1. Insert the SD memory card in the SD slot.
    2. OS detects it and starts to install the SD memory card driver.
    3. Specify the inf file ({CD-drive}: Toshiba SD Memory Card Driver) and forward the setup process.
    4. Copy the SDDEVMGR.dll file under the Windows System directory.
Note that System directory means \WINNT\SYSTEM32 for Windows 2000 and \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 for Windows XP.
    Good luck!

  • IPhone 4 not recognized when connected to new USB 2.0 card

I have an iphone 4 OS4.1 on a no-name Windows XP Pro (service pack 3) PC with an AMD processor and lots of RAM.
I had the phone working and syncing beautifully with the onboard USB 1.1 but it was slow. So I bought a new PCI USB 2.0 card and installed it. Card is installed and there are no problems according to the status in System Devices.
But the computer does not recognize the iphone when plugged into one of those ports. If I plug it into one of the USB 1.1 ports that are still in the machine, it syncs and works fine. If I plug it into one of the new USB 2.0 ports, the PC shows the window at bottom right saying the device is not recognized. Tried the wizard but it's useless.
    THOUGHTS?????

    Nevermind!!!
It turned out to be a faulty cable! I tried it with a different sync cable and it works fine!
    So disregard the question above.

Make sure you're using the correct code. For most iTunes cards, the code is under the scratchoff area on the back of the card. For more information, see this support article:

But my video card (Nvidia geforce gt 330m) is not recognized or something. i checked device manager and under display there is only standard VGA driver. ^^Gecko, I'm not bustin' on you, but you're wrong. Or, you are, but I doubt it, one of the lucky ones.
I've gotten 3.1 installed by running the setup .exe file from the DVD via Windows Explorer. Everything seems OK except the graphics/resolution. My NVIDIA card isn't recognized and my resolution options only go up to 1280 x 800.

  • Airport card is not recognized by G3 iMac

I recently acquired a G3 600 MHz iMac, running OS X 10.4.11, and I want to join the iMac to my wireless network. So I purchased an Airport card ( tested card on a ibook running 10.4.11 and it works fine.) and seated it in the G3 iMac. For some reason the iMac does not recognize it one bit. I checked profiler and System Preferences and no sign of an Airport Card. I then opened the iMac and reseated the card, I even changed out the adapter with another adapter I had. After researching online, some people suggested an archival OS restore. Although I would try that but unfortunately I do not have any of the original install disks. So my question is: does anyone know how I can make the os recognize the card?
    Greatly appreciate the help.

There are two versions of the original AirPort card, and their identify can be determined using the information below.
The poster you replied to may be referring to this post quoted below, though even if he had the initially issued card, it would not explain why the card is not recognized. Though incapable of supporting advanced security, it would otherwise be recognized and operate as expected if seated properly, as you have described.
The original AirPort card was equivalent to a WaveLAN Silver card, and supported only 40-bit WEP or 64-bit encryption, and did not support WPA.
The original AirPort Base Station which shipped with these cards on board was limited to 10 clients, had only a 10BbaseT LAN port, and supported only 40-bit WEP. Later cards which looked physically identical, supported 104 bit WEP, or 128-bit encryption, as did the AirPort Base Stations which included them. This second card, also manufactured initially in the Netherlands for Apple by AT&T's Lucent unit—later know as ORiNOCO—was equivalent to the WaveLAN Gold card.
The 661-2219 part number is distinguished by the M7600LL/* marketing designator screened on the label, as well as engineering revision part number 825-4889 and worldwide procurement part number 630-2883. EEE code G3G is embedded right-most in the last four characters of each part's serial number. *This character is typically A, B or C.
The 661-2569, on the other hand, is distinguished by an M7600LL/D or later marketing designator, engineering revision part number 825-5620, the same worldwide procurement part number 630-2883 and typically the phrase '128 bits' along the lower center of the label. EEE codes LH8, M6Y or QAC are embedded right-most in the last four characters of each part's serial number.
While a procurement number generally changes when a service part number change is made, this product did not, as Lucent remained its sole supplier, the 'change' to the card involved different firmware and not a physical change to the product, and Apple personnel largely considered them equivalent, though they were and are not.
Graphite AirPort base station models initially used the M7600LL/A, B or C cards, and was itself designated the M7601LL/A and later, the M7601LL/B. Both base stations were also designated as 661-2265 whole unit service replacement parts. Every card we've ever seen in a Graphite base station was a 661-2219 and was marked as described above.
Apple did not adequately document many of these parts and there applications at the time they were still in use, and all have disappeared from their inventory—except in limited cases—as has much of what existed for documentation. Given their personnel changes over the years, it's quite likely that no one there now can recall the subtle differences or properly identify these products. Once there are designated vintage, then obsolete, they drop quickly off of the radar.
While any properly functioning iMac compatible AirPort card properly mounted in a 076-0804 adapter would show up in the System Profiler without the antenna connected, the performance of such a card would be poor to abysmal.
I believe that you are completely correct when you indicate that either the adapter is not seated properly, that it is not working properly, or that the logic board is defective. The latter two scenarios are quite unlikely, though possible.

  • Windows 7 on iMac Core Duo - Graphics card not recognized

I installed Windows 7 along with Boot Camp drivers for Vista 32 bit.
But my grpahics card ATI X1600 is not recognized by Windows 7 RC.
Any ideas on how I can get this to work?

Most likely that means that the driver is returning bad information or crashing.
Have you updated the driver from AMD's website?

  • Wifi card not recognized after reboot.

I've got a Lenovo X140e and an Intel wifi card. (Intel Corporation Wireless-N 7260) that I installed myself, since the support for the Broadcom card it came with was spotty.
If I reboot my laptop, the card won't show up with either iwconfig or even lspci. If I do a cold reboot (power down entirely and start back up), it will show up just fine.
    What gives?
    Relevant lspci output:
01:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 7260 (rev 4b)
            Subsystem: Intel Corporation Wireless-N 7260
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 38
            Memory at f1300000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K]
            Capabilities: <access denied>
            Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi
            Kernel modules: iwlwifi

When the card is recognized, rfkill lists it as unblocked; when it's not recognized, it doesn't show up at all.
I've got i3 installed; for connection management I've been sort of trying different things - netctl never works but wifi-menu has been pretty reliable. I haven't installed any special power management stuff at all - I'm not really sure how to find out what was auto-installed?
