HT204387 Does a classic bluetooth (v2.1) based accessory using Serial Port Profile (SPP) require MFi chip to communicate with iPhone or iPad ?

Dear All
Can classic bluetooth (v2.1) based accessory using Serial Port Profile (SPP)  communicate with all iPhones or iPads ?
Is MFi chip required by a classic bluetooth(v2.1) accessory to communiate with iPhone or iPad  over Serial Port Profile  ?
Thanks
Manju

Due to a copy/paste glitch, some necessary spaces have inadvertently been removed.  If I could fix this, I would.

  • HT204387 Does iOS support Bluetooth printing, any idea by when would that come out.

    Hi
I am trying to print a receipt using bluetooth on an iPhone app, the printer is a Zebra printer QL 420 plus. I am unable to do so. The iOS documentation states Air Print as a method to print. Is that the only option that we have to print using iOS.
This is urgent as I have a customer delivery.

No one would have any idea what Apple plans, unless they announse - which is very rare.
Iphone does not support bluetooth printing.

  • TS3899 My ipad does not communicate with iphone on one of my email accounts and will not remove deleted emails that are done on the iphone and vice versa, what setting should be changed?

It's my understanding that an iPhone can only sync with one computer. You need to choose one computer. Sounds like it syncs at work, but not at home. If you want to just sync it at home, then you have to make sure the home computer has all the info that you want on it, like music etc. Then you have to deauthorize the work computer for it to sync at home. When you connect it will ask if you want to set up as a new iPhone or restore from backup. If you don't have a backup on the home computer then either way you will be wiped clean. So any photos, contacts, notes etc you have will be erased. You would need to backup or copy your photos from your iPhone. When you connect it to your home computer, it will give you that popup message to open your iPhone files. Then you can copy those photos and save them onto your computer and sync them back in through iTunes.
For your contacts, do you use any type of address book? If so you'll want to back that up and then transfer to your home computer. For notes, you can just email those to yourself and then save that email. I use MobileMe so the contacts issue is easily resolved.

  • How do you in xcode search devices in bluetooth and stablish connection other devices with iphone or ipad

    hi everyone
how do you in xcode search devices in bluetooth and stablish connection other devices whit iphone or ipad ?
    the all answer is good
and the source is enable for all

Bluetooth on iOS has three different functions:
o user level features -- For example, headsets.  There is no developer opportunity here (well, you can play audio that comes out the headset, but you know what I mean :-).
o networking -- You can establish a PAN network to other iPhone OS devices with GameKit (going away)  or Bonjour.
o accessories -- All Bluetooth accessory developers must go through the Made for iPod program.  Once you have an MFI device you can then talk to it through ExternalAccessory framework.

  • Does YouTube always lag with iPhones and iPads?

Once again I have a noob question. On my Android devices I have no lagging issues but on both my iPad2 and iPhone 4s (using the preloaded app)I can't get YouTube to play for more than a couple of seconds without lagging and freezing. Netflix works great on both apple devices . This does not matter if I am on wifi or 3G and I have checked for an app update. Does this happen to others?

Yes it does happen to others. It happens to me from time to time. It depends on - among other things - the speed of your Internet connection. I have the original iPad and the new iPad as well. I have no experience with Android devices so I can't comment on that or make any comparison.
If you wait until the video fully loads, or at least wait until it loads far enough in advance before you start to play it, it should play OK.

  • Can you use a Mac Mini to share documents between several devices? iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, etc...? We are a home based business with several locations across the state and are having Google Drive issues, looking into Mac Mini options.

We are having Google Drive issues (some files won't sync) and it's causing us trouble with our business communication. Is there any way to use a Mac Mini to share documents between two people in different areas similar to google drive? Would this just be done through iCloud?

If you use Numbers, Pages and KeyNote it si very easy to sync those document among all the Apple devices. You need montain Lion on the Mac  and at least iOS 5 on the mobile devices.
I show those document on my Mac, iPad 4 and iPhone 4S

  • Does the OS X Mountain Lion upgrade include iPhones and iPads?

This is probably a dumb question, but does the OS X Mountain Lion upgrade automatically include iPhones and iPads?

I don't know quite what you mean. Mountain Lion is for Macs and has nothing directly to do with iPhones and iPads at all.

  • Does de-authorizing computers effect iPhones and iPads on the account?

I am trying to authorize my pc at my office but I am getting a notice saying I cannot authorize more than 5 computers.  Does this have anything to do with iPhones and iPads or just the computers?
    Thanks,
    Kan

So, I would be safe to de-authorize all computers and then go in and re-authorize the 3 computers we have then with no problems, correct?  This will not effect the iTunes Match either, correct?
    Thanks

  • Unable to delete serial port (advanced bluetooth prefs)

I was messing around with the advanced Bluetooth preferences and added a couple serial ports to this list.  But when I select the items, the remove button remains inactive.  How do I delete these?  (Note: checking the checkboxes doesn't change the state of the remove button.)

    Hi ChouDoufu,
did you get a reply, or find a way to fix this problem? I'm experiencing exactly the same issue. Moreover, if I go to "My Bluetooth Places" and "View My Bluetooth services", I can see the various services, and even enable some of them such as File Transfer or Bluetooth Imaging. However, I cannot enable Bluetooth Serial Port, which is what I'd need to be able to connect my Palm with my Lenovo. By the way, it works fine with my other computers, just not with this Lenovo T60p...

  • The Bluetooth low energy protocol is not backward compatible with classic Bluetooth protocol. My iPhone 4s can not find my sonny in-dash player. However my iPhone 3GS does it. Very disappointed with this. Any idea how it can be fixed???

    Hello,
You are correct, Blue tooth low engergy, BTLE.(only) devices are not backward compatible with Classic bluetooth and cannot connect.
However the Apple 4S and above have Bluetooth 4.0 support.. Hardware wise it has bothClassic Bluetooth, like the 3GS, as well as Bluetooth Low Energy.  There is no good reason why your 4s cannot communicate to your Sony in-dash player using the Classic bluetooth that resides in the 4S.
I know that this does not answer the why it does not work, but it should work. Do you have to somehow re-pair the new phone up to the player?  Not  knowing the model of the Sony it is hard to investigate.
And I hate to ask but are you sure that the Bluetooth radio is on in the phone?

Yes, you can setup the iPod and redownload past iTunes purchases. You need a wifi connectin to the interent.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Why can,t I bluetooth pair my iPhone 3GS with my new iPad, it does not even show up as discoverable. What can I do to fix this

For what purpose are you trying to pair them?
Only supported peer to peer apps such as photo transfer or multiplayer games can connect to other iOS devices via Bluetooth. You initiate the connection inside the app running on both devices.

  • Ipod classic bluetooth

Hi, I have read a previous post saying the the iPod Classic does not have bluetooth so I was wondering if anyone knows if I can buy a bluetooth transmitter that will work? I see there are a fair few dongles around but am not sure if any of them will work on my old Classic and don't want to invest if none are compatible.
