My iPhone 4S won't connect via bluetooth to my iPad 4 so. I can't use it as a hotspot any suggestions ?

I have the same problem.  You can still connect via Wifi but it drains the battery on the iphone quickly.  Would love to know a fix for this problem.

  • My new iPhone 4S won't pair with my iPad

I recently got a new 4s and it won't pair with my iPad 2. I have had 2 4s that have always successfully paired with my iPad. Any suggestions on how to get them to pair?

Over Bluetooth?  No way, unless you're sharing a Personal Hotspot over Bluetooth and all devices are syncing to shared accounts over the internet, but not peer-to-peer over Bluetooth.
If you think otherwise, please explain exactly how, and what apps were being used to sync texting, calendars, notes, reminders peer-to-peer over Bluetooth.

  • My iPhone 4 won't connect with my new Macbook Air?

Got a Macbook Air yesterday, and I've always connected my iPhone with a Windows computer. I tried to connect the iPhone to the laptop (via USB) and it kept connecting and unconnecting. It would continuously vibrate and the battery would show charging/not charging over and over again.
I could connect my iPhone with my cable onto my PC, so I don't think it's the cable. I also was able to use a USB drive on the laptop, so I don't think it's the USB port either. Do you have any suggestions? All ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

Sound like something is making an intermittent connection. Even though you have used the cable successfully in the past, it might have some new damage or old damage that only causes a problem in certain positions. The cable is also the easiest and cheapest to replace; maybe you could even borrow one long enough to test.
If you bought the MBA new from a brick and mortar Apple Store, take it back for diagnosis.

  • Iphone 4 won't connect with airport extreme 5th generation

Just bought a brand new AP extreme, and the computer links up fine, but iphones repeatedly time out.
    Any ideas?
    Running Lion, and iOS 5
    Thanks in advance.

Ditto here too.  I was helping a friend update her AP Extreme today.  Reset the modem.  Reset the AP Extreme. iMac links wirelessly with the AP Extreme and gets to the Internet - no problem.  However, not one iPhone in the house (3 of them - one iPhone 4 and two iPhone 3s) will access the interest with the AP Extreme.
Each of the 3 iPhones recognized the AP Extreme and one of them (a 3 without updated software on it) will actually show that there is a connection to the AP Extreme.  Two of the iPhones (4 and 3 (both of which have latest updates) work perfectly everywhere else we've been (FL, NC, Germany) in the last few weeks.  They also work perfectly on the two AP Extremes in our house.
I've read a bunch of support and this seems to be a recurring problem for which there does not appear to be a good solution.  Is there anything more current in guidance that might help????
    Thanks also in advance.

  • Hi, there! My iPhone 4S refuses to connect with my MacBook Pro, via Bluetooth... Any tips?

I start the whole process as indicated. Then, my MacBook Pro recognizes my iPhone 4S and starts the pairing. But when I try to pair my iPhone w/ my MacBook, the 4S indicates "the connection failed", and also says "the MacBook Pro isn't compatible"!
Please, if you could help me I'd really appreciate. Tks!

The Syncing process is via iTunes... not Bluetooth...

  • Wifi is working and accessible on my IPad and IPhone but can not connect with another iPad.  I've tried all the listed fixes, forget network reentering password.  The iPad sees the network but the wheel keeps spinning.  Help thanks.

Wifi working on 1 iPad and iPhone but not on another IPad (same model). All posted fixes tried with no help.  The iPad recognizes the network but the wheel keeps spinning.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

    first step would be reboot
http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/#section_1 the cure for most ios ills
then I would troubleshoot by taking it to another wifi network to see if it had problems in general with wifi
then if it did not then I would try to update the firmware of my wifi router for better compatability

iPhone 5 won't connect with my blueant headset, won't even find it to pair with it

    Hi Jonath4n,
When you update or restore the firmware on your iPhone it is necessary to remove old pairing information and pair your BlueAnt device with your iPhone again.

Microsoft Exchange won't connect with my iPhone (it's saying the password is incorrect, but it shouldn't be), now I can't delete that inbox on the phone.  Help??

Turn off wifi.  Use wireless signal. reenter password at settings.  This should work.  Turn wifi back on if you wish.  Wait for next occurrence within hours or days.  Have not found a permanent preventive solution.  Thinking of replacing my four year old wireless router.

  • My iPhone won't connect with my computer or charge. How can I fix this?

My iPhone won't connect with my computer. It also will not charge. I changed the white charging cord, but I have the same problem. I connected other devices to the USB and they work. It's strictly the iPhone.
    How can I correct this?

I forgot to mention, the iPhone does charge via wall plug.

  • My Iphone 5 won't connect to my PC

My Iphone 5 won't connect to my PC. When I plug it in to my PC nothing happens at all. My cord chargers on the charger so I dont think the cord could be the problem. Also I updated all my PC software, as well as my Iphone and still nothing. I tried plugging in my itouch to see if it would work and it does! So i think something with my phone is the problem! Please help!

    Hi,
I have the same trouble. After reading many internet sites around this subject I found the following solution.
Although apple explained that it is not necessary with the lightning connector to use it in a special direction this seems not to be true.
I have just turned my connector by 180° and it is working again.
Hopefully this direction does not fail too. There are only 2 possibilities

  • My iPhone 5 won't connect to my macbook pro retina over bluetooth?

My iPhone 5 won't connect to my macbook pro retina over bluetooth?

Ah, sure it actually won't.  I have the same problem, and I contacted Apple Support.  They told me that there is an incompatability between the iphone 5 and MacBook Pro Retina such that Bluetooth pairing is not possible.
The Support Agent actually had the audacity to tell me this was part of the design of the OS on the MacBook Pro, like Windows people saying, "That's not a bug.  It's a feature!!"
Personally, I think this is insane.  While I was trying to tether the iphone to the MacBook Pro retina for an internet connection, there are other reasons related to file transfers for which one would want to pair the iphone 5 with the MacBook Pro retina.
I am hoping this "feature" is fixed in iOS 7, and/or in some dot release of Mac OS 10.8.
By the way, the personal hotspot feature on my Verizon iphone 5 works great either via a wifi or USB connection.  There are occaisions, however, when one would 1) not have a USB cable, and/or 2) have another wifi relationship between the phone and a network that one would not want to have to "forget" in order for it not to connect to that wifi network.  The Macbook will not find the iphone as a wifi hotspot if the iphone is connected to wifi in the first place.  At least mine won't.

  • My iPhone 4s will not connect with my home WiFi network. I have ios6 on my phone. I have updated my IMac and my MacBook Pro with iOS 10.8.2. Anyone have any suggestions? It was connecting with no problems prior to updating my two computers.

My iPhone 4s will not connect with my home WiFi network. I have ios6 on my iPhone. The connection was working perfectly before I updated my IMac and my MacBook Pro to ios 10.8.2. I have had ios6 since I purchased the phone a couple of months ago. It searches for a network and finds them, but when it asks for my password, it will not accept the password. Have never had this happen before.

    Hello krosebear,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
If you are having difficulties connecting your iPhone to a Wi-Fi network, the following article should provide troubleshooting that should help you resolve the issue.

  • My iPhone 4 won't sync with iTunes.

My iPhone 4 won't sync with iTunes
I am running iTunes 11.1.5.5, and my phone is using iOS 7.1
Windows 8 recognizes that the phone is connected, and even asks if I would like to download pictures, however iTunes will not.
So far, I have stopped and restarted AMDS, iTunes, my laptop, and the iphone. None of these have had any success. I've tried using a different cable, but the results were the same. The phone can download songs via its own iTunes app, but cannot sync with iTunes on the laptop.
How can I get my phone to start syncing with iTunes again? This problem occurs sparatically, sometimes syncing and sometimes ignoring the phone altogether, like it is now.

Does your Mac meet the requirements for the latest version of iTunes?
    Macintosh System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core processor and 512MB of RAM
OS X version 10.6.8 or later
    Safari 4.0.3 or later
    400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
In the future, you're more likely to get faster, more appropriate responses by posting to the correct forum.  The iPhone Hardware forum is not the correct place to be posting issues regarding iTunes on your Mac.
