iTunes Match keeps "gathering information" on my library, in a loop, without ever making to step 2.
I know others have experienced the same issue, but the only advice given was for PC users. Am on Mac.
Admittedly, my library is huge (over 10,000 songs), but still...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Same issue here with a MacBook pro recently upgraded to Mountain Lion. I hadn't tried iTunes Match prior to the upgrade so can't say whether or not it worked previously.
Getting quite frustrated!

Bug Report iOS 7 iTunes. Since it is repeatable on 3 iPhones and 4 iPads here, I'm sure others are experiencing the same thing. Apple, might want to take a peek at this. When a tv show or movie is deleted from Videos, the Videos app shuts down instead of returning to video playlist.
Restarting videos works and looks like video is getting deleted.

Your purchased music is availble for download again at no cost. If you have iTunes match service, you can download your matched music.

Hi folks,
I found a solution in case your MATCH is still buggy...
JUST BOOT YOUR MAC HOLDING THE SHIFT KEY (until you see a progress bar).
Then in itunes disable and re-enable iTunes Match.
It should rescan all your library and eventually works.
At the end just reboot your Mac normally.

All week I have been trying to get 2 separate iTunes accounts on 2 different Macbook on Air's both running iTunes 11.3.1(2) on Mavericks 10.9.5 - the progress bar crawls along and never actually reaches the end. Both iTunes Match accounts are completely empty (i.e. show zero media available on connected iOS devices). I have signed in and out of iTunes Match, deleted the libraries and re-added them etc. but the scan just isn't working.
So, is iTunes Match being discontinued ahead of the announcements on 9/9 or is this a temporary glitch, or something thats just local to Spain?I'm having the exact same issue on a fresh windows 7 install...pretty annoying. After a few minutes of Genius in iTunes 9.0.2 gathering information about my music library my PC crashes and turns off. This is the only issue my computer has...help?

I know it can be frustrating when you are waiting for content to download to your iPhone from the iTunes Store. There are a few steps I would recommend in this situation. Please read over and follow the steps in the attached article.

If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
If you can't complete the download on your iOS device, you can download it in iTunes on your Mac or PC and then sync it to your iOS device. You can also transfer purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer.

Has anyone ever received a proper response to the dreded itunes 5103 error after downloading a rented movie on iTunes? What's even worse is that I now can't delete them. They just show back up when I check for downloads. This has been going on now for over a month. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thunderbolt Bus:I am glad you could do that and fix your Mac. I did not remove my post it was deleted by the mods . Only loving words allowed... That said I am apple's biggest fan since I met Woz at the Us festival in 1981 . I have always campaigned for people to use macs because they are the best computer ever made...I have invested in apple shares and own 4 iPhones and two minis and still use a g5 which still rocks .
I am certainly mad this is happening it is affecting my business . I don't think I am the only one. When searching for answers I googled everything crashes on mavericks, I was shocked to see the depth of the problem. I wish I was one of those who fixed it by nixing google drive, I don't have that . Or any Microsoft apps . I stripped it from anything I suspected may be causing this . None of my apps even apple apps run stable for more than a minute.
In looking at diagnostic tools like monitor, I could see sudden spikes in CPU usage even though nothing was running . Every thing was idle . I suspect these sudden spikes are what cause the freezing if apps. Once the spike is over , sometimes the apps recover but sometimes they need to be force quit
Most of the time I need to force restart.
Nothing I have found to try to fix this has not worked. I recommend people to go back to their previous stable system until they fix this if they can. -

I associated songs stored in iTunes on our PC with my wifes Apple ID, when signing up for iTunes Match.
Now I can't download our songs from iCloud to my iPad, which is associated with my Apple ID (not the same).

You two lovebirds will have to decide if you are using separate accounts, or sharing a single account.
If you are using separate accounts, you will need separate subscriptions to Match. -

While attempting to upload my library for the first time to Apple Cloud using iTunes (v11) match from Win 7 PC, I get an error 4002 after looking at the screen for about 20 minutes stating:

This was after 20 minutes of gathering information about my library.....which appeared to be successful.

Thanks.Very disappointed in Apple these days... iOS 6, iTunes Match, iTunes... quality control died with Mr. Jobs evidently. I got tired of iTunes Match 4002's or the restarting about 30 times before it could finally complete it's task. So I switched over to Amazon's mp3 match services. They limit you to 250k songs (instead of 25k) and the music is always cheaper at Amazon than iTunes. Plus there is an Amazon mp3 player for android, iOS, Windows and Mac... no need to be stuck with iTunes anymore. Especially since Apple doesn't seem to be able to fix the ongoing issues with it. The only negative is that I can't use Amazon Cloud Player on my Apple TV.

How come I can't add a song to my playlists in itunes match? Is it me or itunes match? It keeps on coming up with a message " iCloud playlists can only contain songs from your iCloud music library. If you continue, the playlist will be removed from iCloud and will only be available on this computer"?
You must surely be able to add and subtract songs on specific playlist?I fixed this issue (with help from tech support) and it involved several things.
After adding a song to iTunes, right-click on the song in iTunes and select "Update iTunes Match."
OR go to the iTunes menu-->Store-->Update iTunes Match.
Maybe that's the reason, it just hadn't updated to the cloud.
OR maybe it's not a high-enough bitrate file. This happens to me because most of my tunes are home-recorded.
Sometimes converting to .mp3 or Create AAC version might work. (You do this with a right-click in iTunes, and then you will want to remove the original file from iTunes.)
There is an iTunes Preferences setting, under General Preferences called Import Settings. Try setting it to AAC Encoder and iTunes Plus. That (I think) causes imports to be slightly better quality.

I recently renewed my icloud, since then I have been trying to use itunes match but it keeps coming up with error 4040?
Did you try turning off iTunes Match (Store>Turn off iTunes Match), then turning it back on?
