  • HT204406 My iPhone tells me that iTunes Match is associated with another account. But it works on my iPad and MacBook. It says I have to wait 90 days. Please Help!

My iPhone wants me to wait 90 days before I can use it again with iTunes Match. It is telling me that it is associated with another account. This is not true. I have tried restarting, logging out of the store, syncing with my MacBook ((where iTunes Match works). There seems to be no tech support for iTunes Match . I have not been able to find anything except this forum.
    Thanks.

First which version of iOS are you currently running on your ipad? If running iOS 5.1 or later you can upadate righ from ipad using wifi.
You should use the same computer that you normally sync to (itunes, by default, will not let you sync to more than one itunes libray)
If not, you can turn off auto syncing.
Without the ipad connected to the computer, go to itunes preferences/devices and check the box at the bottom to prevvent ipads, iphones and ipads from syncing automatically.
    Then reconnect ipad to computer.

  • Since upgrading to 7.0.3 (iPhone 5 64gb, with iTunes Match enabled) all of my music wiped off my phone.  Downloading it again, most of the artwork has been mixed up with other artists, and I'm no longer able to stream or download over 3G? Any ideas?

Since upgrading to 7.0.3 (iPhone 5, 64gb, with iTunes Match enabled) almost all of my music has vanished from my phone (weirdly some hasn't).
Downloading it again, most of the artwork has been mixed up with other artists, and I'm no longer able to stream or download over 3G (all tracks greyed out), though my network settings etc are all set correctly.
Lastly since upgrading to iOS 7.0.1 (and beyond) Genuis has become effectively useless: it continually asks me to connect to wi-fi, and if I do it creates playlists mostly composed of tracks by the same artists or those very obviously linked to them- previously it created brilliant, nuanced playlists.
Are these things connected, and how do I fix them?

I have done this on numerous occasions but I think that my Iphone has a defect. After many tries, reinstalls, deletion of content, changing content to be stored on external hard drive, deleting itunes and cleaning computer I managed to get all of the songs on and things seemed okay for a while.
The problem returned about a week ago after downloading a new album from Itunes. I now have 12.5k of songs leaving 10gb spare on Iphone which should be more than enough room to operate properly. Last night it seemed to be dowloading ok (after doing all of the above again for the umpteenth time) this morning it revealed that it had just synched 2.5k of songs and 18gb of "other" on the contents bar. it wont synch now as it says its over capacity. So the 18gb of "other" would probably be corrupted data that means it must corrupt each song as it tries to synch it.
The 2.5k of songs it did synch are working on the Iphone as is every song in the library on Itunes. I did completely delete the new album I bought and redownloaded it from the store then tried to synch just that album and it worked fine.
Just about time to dump apple I think!

  • I can't access my new playlist on my iPhone 4s when using iTunes Match

I recently spent 5 hours combing through my entire digital music collection to compile a playlist of all the songs I want to hear right now.  It is 696 songs and 1.7 days long.  Both my iTunes on my computer and my iPhone 4s have the latest version of the available software.  I cannot see or listen to my new playlist on my iPhone.  I have done the following (with no success):
    1) I have updated iTunes Match.
    2) I have powered off and powered on my iPhone
    3) I have disable and re-enabled Match on my iPhone.
    4) I have disable Match on my iPhone, connected my iPhone to my computer via a USB cord, transfered my playlist that way, then re-enabled Match on my iPhone.  Still, I do not have access to my playlist.  While this did have the desired the affect of putting the playlist on my iPhone, I then could not download the songs that were in the playlist onto my iPhone without Match or performing the laborous task of transfering each song individually via the USB cord.  Not to mention the fact that I play for Match and expect it to work.
    5) I have disabled Match on my iPhone, powered off and powered on my iPhone.  Then, I re-enabled Match on my iPhone.
None of these actions have resulted in the desired occurance.  I have read through the community and when I find someone who said they have fixed the problem, the person either has a minimal grasp of the English language and I do not understand that person or I have already completed the action that the person recommends.
I feel as though, since I pay for this service, that iTunes, i.e. Apple, should address my problem directly, rather than rely on the support of a community of people who are up the same creek, lacking a tool for forward momentum.
I somewhat feel as though I, and all others in a like-situation, should receive a refund for Match or, at the very least, some sort of compensation for time during which it has caused problems.
Additionally, I refuse to ever purchase an apple product again.  They are not the company of quality that they used to be and we are all now just paying top dollar for an subpar product.

Additionally, when trouble shooting, and you disable iTunes Match on an iOS device you cannot simply re-enable it immediately. You must launch the Music app and let the content clear out before re-enabling the service.

  • HT204406 When synching my music to iTunes Match, iTunes either crashes or I get an unknown error (code 8104).

I continously get this problem and have been trying again and again, but always with the same result.  It seems that most of the time, iTunes Match goes through the first 2 steps (Step 1: Gathering information and Step 2: Matching music) but when it comes to Step 3, it seems to have problems and crashes.
Any thoughts on why this might be?  Very frustrating - especially since I'm paying for Tunes Match and unable to get everything uploaded so I can access my content on my iPhone, iPad and Apple TV...

For the reason in this thread - laptops without external drive connected.  The library file lists a location, if it's not found at that location there's no reason it couldn't get the song from the cloud.  In general for laptop users, if you have another computer it's probably easier to do the matching and uploading, then after that move the drive with the full llibrary to the other computer and have the laptop do some streaming and copy some files locally to the internal drive for when internet isn't available.
I haven't seen the streaming info in Apple's documentation but many users have confirmed that playing a file that's in the cloud and not on the computer defaults to streaming.  There's a cloud logo with an arrow, clicking that downloads the file locally.  You can test it yourself, just delete a file that's in the cloud (I'd back it up to another location first) then hit play.

Then you need to delete all the songs out of your mac on iTunes but don't delete them from the cloud.  Anytime you want to play those songs again it's going to download them onto your mac though so you will start building up song files on your Mac HD and not your external.
Not true, on the computer songs can be streamed.  Handy for laptops in particular.

  • ITunes store app on iPhone is freezing when iTunes match is on. Is anyone also having this issue?, iTunes store app on iPhone is freezing when iTunes match is on. Is anyone also having this issue?

Since I installed 5.1.1 every time I access the iTunes store app from my iPhone and iPad the iTunes store freezes. I cannot browse or purchase from the store. It freezes then closes out. I think it is linked to when My iTunes match is activated on my OS devices. I was on the phone with apple tech support for an hour, no help. Anyone else having connectivity issues with the iTunes store app from either the iPhone on iPad? If so were u able to fix it?

Please note i have tried turning off the phone, different card, it is not a bank issue and i have tried signing in and out of itunes

  • Empty Playlist on iPhone after Synching with iTunes Match

I just got iTunes match and at first, it looked like a brilliant idea. Problem is, I imported 7500 songs from my network drive (the wife, the kid and I share the same music folder) and start uploading to iTunes Match. Then I created 3 folders in my playlists. 1 for me, 1 for my wife and one for my kid. Inside each folders, I created a bunch of playlist... more or less 500 total
Since I did that, I can see ALL the playlist on my iphone 4 which is very cool, but some playlist are empty... even though I can see they are not in Itunes.
My original thought was to simply empty the playlist from iTunes that my iPhone saw as empty and just drag the songs I wanted again... it worked on some playlist but not on all... even worst, some playlist that were "ok" are now empty.... what's going on here???
On a more personal note: How imbecile is this to not be able to "physically" synch the playlist that I want to my iphone and simply show the rest of my library in iTunes Match. Some music I want to have on my iPhone and I just don't want to download it again, especially the songs I bought on iTunes, I KNOW they are in good quality...  how hard would it be to simply let me synchronize the files that I want and have iTunes Match handle the rest. This whole thing about letting iTunes match handle EVERYTHING is simply ******** and I seriously hope they correct that. Some people will want to be able to download everything, some like me will want to manage the content... can't believe they just didn't see this coming... just my 2 cents.

    i had the same problem...
found the solution at this website and it worked for me...

  • HT204406 Although I have subscribed to ITunes Match my ipad setting only states under Settings Music, to subscribe to iTunes Match. But i have subscribed. i have played the downloaded songs from the icloud, too, and when i turn off my computer, the ipad m

I subscribed to Music Match with iTunes and yet my ipad settings for Music only still has the option to subscribe, and therefore I cannot click on an option to Activagte iTunes Match, since it is not there. I have all the right number of songs from the icloud showing up in my ipad now, and I have played a few, but when I tried to turn off the computer, it showed a field stating that my ipad music would stop playing too, and it did. I thought this might have something to do with homesharing, but this I thought was something separate from iCloud.
There is something wrong, but I don't understand what. It has just synced, but the problem persists.

Home sharing is separate from iTunes Match.  Sounds like you were playing music using home sharing, which turned off when you turned off your computer.
Open iTunes on your computer and go to the Store menu.  Confirm that there is a setting called Turn Off iTunes Match.  That will confirm that iTunes Match is enabled on your computer.  Then check to see what Apple ID you subscribed to iTunes Match with.  It will be the ID in Store>View Account (in parentheses).
On your iPad, confirm that you are signed in with this same ID in Settings>iTunes & App Store (at the top).  If so, you should see an iTunes Match setting listed with an on/off slider.  Slide it on to enable iTunes Match on your iPad.

  • HT204406 How can I share my iTunes Match music with my household/family?

I am poised to subscribe to iTunes Match, but need to know that my family will have access to the same.

    Hi A A P L,
Why do you say that isn't legal? I haven't bought any songs from the ITunes store, the only thing on my IPOD shuffle are CD's which I own and am just trying to find an easiest way to transfer them to a friends IPOD without the hassle of reading them all in on her PC. Thanks anyone that can help me!

  • HT204406 What ports are used by iTunes Match?

What ports are used by itunes Match? I need to change my router settings.

Good question. The standard document is still mentioning MobileMe, rather than iCloud.
TCP 5223 looks significant ... but the a close check through the rest of the following document might also be prudent:
Well known TCP and UDP ports used by Apple software products

How can I subscribe to itunes Match redeeming from itunes card instead of using credit card?

Do you have another device (eg a computer) that also contains your music? If so, yes, you can turn off iTunes match and sync everything with a cable. Do you tend to buy new music from downloads or ripping CDs? If downloads, you can turn on "download purchases automatically" on the phone to make them available to you there, once you've cable-synced your current library. If CDs, you would have to manually sync with cable (or over local wifi) each time you add a new CD.
