HT204406 What ports are used by iTunes Match?

What ports are used by itunes Match? I need to change my router settings.

Good question. The standard document is still mentioning MobileMe, rather than iCloud.
TCP 5223 looks significant ... but the a close check through the rest of the following document might also be prudent:

  • What Ports are used by Wake on Lan?

Anybody know what UDP ports are used by ZFD's remote wakeup services?
We need to enable directed broadcasts on our network to get WOL to work
across our routers. However, directed broadcasts are quite popular with
denial-of-service attackers, so we'd like to limit them to certain UDP
    ports.
I believe that different WOL software products use different UDP ports
for their Magic Packets. But I can't find Novell's in any of the
    documentation...
    Thanks!

you could use something like Ethereal to check, but AFAICR it's 1765

  • Database Link - What ports are used?

I am attempting to create a database link from a very locked down server (Database A) to Database B which is on my internal network.
Can someone tell me what ports I need to open in the firewall for a database link to work correctly? My Database B instance is a XE instance running on the default port 1521.

Thanks,Hans and Devotee have given you the best info so far. I'd like to expand and clarify slightly on their comments.
There is really nothing special about a db-link. It is just another client process, being used by the 'client' database. It uses exactly the same networking pieces as does sqlplus on the same machine. All of the same considerations are there ... tnsnames.ora on the client machine matching up with the listener configuration on the target machine, listener ports, port redirection for establishing the actual server process, etc. I would start by getting a sqlplus connection working. When you have that, you know you have all of your network configuration issues resolved. At that point any issues you have with the dblink will be in the link definition itself.
And as Hans pointed out, databases don't run on port 1521. It is a conceptual mistake to think of the database as "running" on any port. By default the listener uses port 1521 to listen for connection requests. The database knows nothing about that. It is also very easy, and not that uncommon, to configure the listener to use another port instead of or in addition to 1521, so it is also a mistake to treat port 1521 as if it were some immutable value.

  • What ports are used for handshaking signals?

I want to use Handshaking Digital I/O on an AT-MIO-16DE-10, and I want to know if there are extra digital I/O lines used for this, or if there are independant handshaking connections. I can't seem to find any documentation which warns that you can only get 7 bits out of a port if you use handshaking. Or you can only use ports 2,3,4 because port 0 is used for the handshaking signals.
    Any hints would be appreciated.

Great, actually, I found this information, and would like to re state my question. Now that I know what ports I should be using (this is described in detail in the hardware manual for the E series), I would like to see some definite information about what I must do in my external device to make use of these signals.
I'm a little confused by some comments in the documentation that some of the facilities of Port C (on the 8255) are only avialable if I use register level commands (as if using the parallel port). If I use the DIG_Prt_Config and set to handshaking (input) on a port, then I assume I set up my external hardware as if Port C was in Mode 1(input), and then follow the timing described in the E Series manual.
    It's just a shame that everything o
n the PC side is well described, but there are no application notes that I can find about building an external device that can use the handshaking signals.
If 'you' (anyone) can confirm what my assumptions, or point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it greatly.
    Thank you.

  • HT6160 What ports are used for Apple Configurator to function with IPads?

Need to know what ports need to be allowed for Apple Configurator to function.

Apple Configurator runs locally on an OS X computer. It requires a USB connection. So no ports required for connecting Configurator to iPads.
However, there are some ports that need to be opened for iPads to work with Apple's server if you are behind a firewall. Here is a list of known TCP and UDP ports used by Apple software products: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6175?viewlocale=en_US
To use iPads behind a firewall (Configurator or not), you'll want to definitely open 5223 for Apple Push Notification and the standard ports for HTTP/HTTPS (80 and 443). If you're using an MDM, you will likely need to open 2195 and 2196 as well.  If you still have issues port watch and see what an iPad does when trying to get to the store.
    Hope this answers your question!

  • How do i find what ports are being used.

I need to know how to tell what ports are being used and by what. I recently bought Apple Remote Desktop and have been pretty impressed but I have one computer here that won't let me Observe or Control. I think it is because the G4 in question has a program using port 5900. I need to confirm this is there any way that I can see if this port is being used?
    Thanks
    Moderith

    Hi Moderith--
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Look in your Utilities folder for the Network Utility program. Open it, and choose "Port Scan" from the row of tabs in its window. If you're not running Network Utility on the problematic G4, use the G4's IP address. But if you're actually on the G4, use "localhost".
Note that if you check the open ports on the G4 from another computer, you won't see as many as if you check it from the G4 itself. That's because some ports are only local. For example, I have enabled the mail server on my Macs, but only to deliver mail, not relay it. So if I do a port scan using "localhost", I see port 25 open, but it's not open from another computer.

  • Why is the iTunes Radio advertisement showing? I'm using the iTunes Match though.

I joined the itunes match last April. It will be expired on next April.
Until now, the itunes radio ads haven't been showed up while using the itunes match.
But Since last week, I listen the ads on the radio like Nissan and so on.
How do I remove the ads on the radio?

This message from William M. is the answer to our problem.

    Re: radio in itunes

I'm also using ver. 11.0.1 and have Radio, so it's not a version bug.
Have you deleted the iTunes pref files?  Close iTunes and go to your user Library->Preferences.  Unless you've changed your OS to do this, the Library folder is invisible in the newer versions of OS X.  Open a Finder window, and while holding down the Option key, click on Go in the top menu bar.  You'll see your Library there, so click on it and go to the Preferences folder.  If you're viewing preferences alphabetically, scroll down to com.apple.iTunes.  Delete anything that has those words in the file name (there will probably be about 6 of them).  No worry; this won't hurt anything.  When you re-open iTunes, new pref files will be created.
Now, since you just entered this topic and weren't a part of the original discussion, I was assuming that your reply was to say that you weren't seeing any Radio option in iTunes.  That's what I'm trying to assist with here.
Re-open iTunes and see if anything is improved.  If not, can you post a screen shot of your iTunes window?

  • HELP!!!  Message - (One or more applications are using the iTunes scripting interface. Are you sure you want to quit?)  How do I get this to stop?

I bought a new Sony Vaio Laptop running Windows 8, 64bit, i7 processor.  Everytime I open iTunes and then close out, the following message occurs: (i-tunes message - One or more applications are using the iTunes scripting interface. Are you sure you want to quit?) Then it starts counting down from 20 seconds unless I just click on the (Quit) button.  How do I get this to stop?  Please be specific, I am challenged when it comes down to computers.
    Thank You

This was extremely annoying for me, also.  I started uninstalling unneeded Sony applications to try to narrow down the problem.  It turned out not to be a Sony application... it is some functionality built into the bluetooth driver software package by Broadcom.  Uninstalling the bluetooth package (via the control panel) takes care of the problem.  Itunes also boots up way quicker.  But uninstalling it will remove features related to bluetooth and nfc.   For me, that isn't an issue, since I don't use them.  Since you said you're "computer challenged" I would probably just send an email to sony complaining about the problem.  They'll get in touch with Broadcom eventually (the manufacture of the drivers) and get the problem fixed.
Side note: the Broadcom package is huge...  nearly 1GB in size.  Which is crazy.  I can't imagine what it does considering the size of it.  Entire operating systems can take up less storage.  Also, I have no idea how it starts an itunes plugin without placing it into the standard plugin directories.

  • WHAT IS  THE USE OF COPY/MATCH OPTION  IN BUISNESS CONTENT

WHAT IS  THE USE OF COPY/MATCH OPTION  IN BUISNESS CONTENT  GIVE DETAILS

    Hi,
    Match (X) or Copy
If the SAP delivery version and the active version can be matched, a checkbox is displayed in this column.
With the most important object types, the active version and the SAP delivery version can be matched.
From a technical point of view, the SAP delivery version (D version) is matched with the M version. As in most cases the M version is identical to the active version (A version) in a customer system, this is referred to as a match between the D and A versions for reasons of simplification.
When a match is performed, particular properties of the object are compared in the A version and the D version. First it has to be decided whether these properties can be matched automatically or whether this has to be done manually. A match can be performed automatically for properties if you can be sure that the object is to be used in the same way as before it was transferred from Business Content.  When performing matches manually you have to decide whether the characteristics of a property from the active version are to be retained, or whether the characteristics are to be transferred from the delivery version.
    Example of an automatic match
Additional customer-specific attributes have been added to an InfoObject in the A version. In the D version, two additional attributes have been delivered by SAP that do not contain the customer-specific attributes.  In order to be able to use the additional attributes, the delivery version has to be installed from Business Content again. At the same time, the customer-specific attributes are to be retained. In this case, you have to set the indicator (X) in the checkbox.  After installing the Business Content, the additional attributes are available and the customer-specific enhancements have been retained automatically. However, if you have not checked the match field, the customer-specific enhancements in the A version are lost.
    Example of a manual match
An InfoObject has a different text in the A version than in the D version. In this case the two versions have to be matched manually. When Business Content is installed, a details screen appears which asks you to specify whether the text should be transferred from the active version or from the D version.
The Match indicator is set as default in order to prevent the customer version being unintentionally overwritten. If the Content of the SAP delivery version is to be matched to the active version, you have to set the Install indicator separately.
The active version is overwritten with the delivery version if
¡        the match indicator is not set and
¡        the install indicator is set.
In other words, the delivery version is copied to the active version.
If the Install indicator is not set, the object is not copied or matched. In this case, the Match indicator has no effect.
In the context menu, two options are available:
                                a.      Merge All Below
The object in the selected hierarchy level and all objects in the lower levels of the hierarchy are selected as to Match.
                                b.      Copy All Below
The Match indicators are removed for the object in the selected hierarchy level and all objects in the lower levels of the hierarchy. If the Install indicator is also set, these objects are copied from the delivery version to the active version.
The most important properties which are taken into account when versions are matched are now listed.
When referring to InfoObjects it is important to differentiate between:

    ¡        InfoCubes
    ¡        ODS Objects and
    ¡        InfoObjects
InfoObjects are discussed above (see the first table Valid for All Objects Named Above).
Valid for All InfoProviders Named Above:
    Properties Matched Automatically:
    Properties Matched Manually:

    Properties Matched Manually:
    ·        New dimensions
If dimensions in the delivery version do not yet exist in the active version, they are transferred.
    ·        Manual matching is not necessary.
With the InfoObject catalog object type, InfoObjects that are assigned to a catalog in the delivery version are transferred to the active version automatically. Manual matching is not necessary.
With the transfer rule object type, those objects that exist in the delivery version but are not yet contained in the active version (for example, additional attributes) are added automatically when the match is performed.  Manual matching is not necessary.
With the process chain object type, those objects that exist in the delivery version but are not yet contained in the active version (for example, additional objects in the process chain) are added automatically when the match is performed.  Manual matching is not necessary.
    ·        Active Version Available
In this column, the following display options are available:
¡        : The object is available in an active version. You decide whether you want to retain this version or reinstall the latest version of the object.
¡        Date symbol: The object is already available in an active version. However, the active version belongs to an older Content release. SAP recommends that you install the latest version.
¡        Gray symbol: An activated version of the object is available in the system. However, the object status is inactive. If an object version is activated, this indicates that all metadata for the object can be created successfully. The inactive object status indicates that the processed object is inconsistent and cannot currently be used for processing data. Transfer the object again from the SAP delivery version (D version).  If this is not enough to change the object status from “inactive” to “active” the object has to be postprocessed. You find notes on postprocessing in the activation log.
Postprocessing: An inactive object status may also occur for an InfoObject if changes are made to the structure at field level. Postprocessing the object involves converting the relevant tables in accordance with the activation log.
¡        No indicator: The object is not available in an active version.
    7. Make Settings in the Selection List and Install.
Make the required settings in the  Install selection list:
    Installation Type
    Installation Type
    Information
    Simulate installation
The system runs a test to see whether any errors are likely to occur during the installation. However, not all errors that may occur can be identified during simulation: Some error messages can only be generated when a real A version (and not just a simulation) is available in the system. You should, therefore, only use the simulation function as a rough guide to help you identify and remove basic errors.
    Install
The selected objects are installed immediately.
    Install in background
The selected objects are installed in the background.
    Install and transport
The selected objects are installed immediately and then written to a transport request.
SAP recommends you use the Install in background option because installing a large number of objects can take a long time. Modifying objects that are already active can take an especially long time to complete. Make sure that when you install objects in the background that the versions are not matched. It is always the delivery versions that are installed. These are not matched with any available customer versions.
