HT204411 Why is there so much music that isn't available in Australia?

There are a bunch of Korean songs that I want to download but aren't available in Australia. They are available in the U.S., Korea and other countries so I dont understand why they wouldnt be made available to Australia as well

Content is only available where the content providers grant Apple licenses to sell them. You can try requesting that they be added to Australian store, but ultimately it will be the record company that will have to grant Apple a license to sell them there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

  • Why is there so much available space on my hard drive after installing Lion?

I just made the decision to  go ahead and install the new operating system "Lion"
I backed everything up to my Time Capsule and I have an older back up of everything on an external hard drive.
Now I have two questions and one task.
Why is there so much available space on my hard drive and where did my iPhoto library go after installing the new operating system?
My task is to restore my most up to date iPhoto library which I assume is on my time capsule.
How should I approach this task?

    Hi entresoft,
I am not sure how to do this. I am not a very literate computer person but have a vague idea of what you are suggesting.
If I do manage to figure out how to do what you have suggested will this restore my iPhoto Library and I assume maybe other files?
    Thanks!

  • Why is there so much "other"

why is there so much space on the iPad called "other", and how can it be deleted?

    What is "Other"
It’s generally a combination of local caches from apps, browsers, mail, Messages, Reading List, saved games, app-specific documents and data, notes, and voice memos.
You can backup and restore to reduce "other" but they will start building up over time.

    Thanks x

You can upgrade to iPhoto '11 with OS X 10.8.5 by purchasing an iPhoto '11 DVD from Amazon, eBay or other source - or you can upgrade your OS to Mavericks for free if your system meets the requirements and then purchase the upgrade to iPhoto '11 version 9.5.x from the App store - in either case backup first in case of problems

  • Why is there so much noise on the discrete lines of my PXI-7831-R?

    Good day!
We are attempting to emulate encoders that communicate using SSI at 1MHz.  The traffic between our product under test and the encoder is over an RS-422 electrical bus.  Therefore, we have a MAX491 transceiver that converts the clock lines to TTL and our data lines to RS-422.  The problem is this: every time the TTL clock line pulses low or high, there is a great deal of ringing on the data line...so much so that the chip is interpreting it as a state change, causing bad data to be transmitted.  The addition of a needed second encoder setup to the mix (using more lines on the FPGA card and another MAX chip) is only exasperating the situation more.
We are unsure why the line would be ringing so badly.  Is there some kind of additional circuitry we need in this situation?

Excellent explanation Ben(kudos) . I often make this very short by saying that the signal will be confused. If it do not meet the same condition as it had then it left   This true for (almost) all phenomenon within physics like light as an example.

  • Why are there ads in games that I have purchased?  Can I get rid of these ads?

Why are there ads in my games that I have purchased.  How do I get rid of the ads?

The developer participates in the ad program to provide income, usually in exchange for offering the application for free or at a low price. Some developers offer an ad-free version of the app at a higher price, so you might look for that possibility.  If they only offer a single version, though, then you're stuck with the ads, though you can urge the developer to offer an ad-free version as well.
    Regards.

  • HT4623 Why are there some purchased albums that can't be downloaded?

There are several albums that I bought and need to download, but when I go to the album, it says "purchased" and there's no option to download. I also went to purchased albums, and it isn't in there.

Because the developers do not make them available in all countries.
You can ONLY buy from the itunes store of your country of residence ( as proven by the valid billing address on your credit card) AND you can ONLY buy while inside the borders of that country.

  • Itunes music store still not available in AUSTRALIA

I was so excited to watch the October 12 video stream and was sitting on the edge of my seat when I saw the ipod video revealed before my eyes, i was so excited I logged on and bought one straight away forgettign why I originally started watchign the video stream. i started watching originally to see if Steve Jobbs would announce music store available in Australia. Act I, Act II, Act III, one more thing and the finale and encore came and went. I was so shocked that after all this time Australia still does not have access to purchase music and now video and TV programs. Would somebody care to comment. I have written 5 letters to Apple and of course there has never been a response from the company. I am sure I am not he only one there must be more voices who would like to comment...

I read sometime back that they were in negotiations with the music labels for an iTunes Music Store in Australia but some labels as you may know are now insisting music downloads be more costly than 99 cents to which Steve Jobs has replied that they are getting greedy.
Apple has been trying to reject a price increase and as they will have to renew existing agreements soon with labels for countries in which there is already an iTunes Music Store that will likely also be an issue in future to be resolved. I don't think there will be an iTunes Music Store launch for Australia till negotiations with music labels are completed.

  • Why is host so much faster that WiFi?

    I'm using a Linksys WRT54G. I've got a Windows host computer running at 20 MB/sec. My WiFi connected iMac is running a 5 MB/sec.
Why so much slower? What to do about this?

Clearly I was wrong to think that the WRT54G transmits at 54 MB/sec. Call me ignorant, but they should call it the WRT5. The 54 is misleading.
    54 mega BITS/second. NOT mega BYTES/second.
    5 megabytes/second would be around 40 megabits/second.
So now we are talking about pears and grapefruit. Does your ISP provide 20 megabyte/second service or 20 megabit service (most likely megabit).
And what are you using to measure your performance? Is it reporting megabits/second or megabytes/second.
    Are you using something like:
    <http://www.dslreports.com/stest>
    <http://www.ookla.com/>
Most wireless communication systems get effective transfer rates of about 1/2 the advertised speeds. So if you get 25 megabits/second from an 802.11g base station, you are doing good. Some of the overhead is signaling protocol (hello, are you there, hi, did you get that, yea I got it, say again I missed that, wait a sec I'm talking to someone else, etc...). Some of the overhead is in the encryption of your messages so that your neighbors can not see what you are saying (this also affects the performance of many WiFi base stations as they do not have the fastest CPUs in them). Some of the performance loss is because of things like interference robustness, and multi-cast rate used by the WiFi base station. And if your neighbors are using their own WiFi base stations on the same or nearby channels, they will interfere with your ability to get maximum throughput.
As for finding out about your neighbors. If you live in a dense neighborhood (like an appartment complex, or housing where you can reach out and touch your neighor's house), then you most likely do have interfering neighbors. Use a utility such as AP Grapher, iStumbler, KISMac, Airport Radar to see what channel you are using and what channels your neighbors are using, and their relative signal strengths. Channels 1, 6, and 11 are the only 3 channels that do not overlap, as each channels actually uses 5 channels worth of bandwidth, and channel 6 is the most commonly used default channel. Only choose a different channel if 1, 6, and 11 have strong signals on them already, then pick the weakest signal strength channel between the weakest 1, 6, 11 users. Or switch to 802.11n which has more channels to play with.
How you figure out the multi-cast and interference robustness setting of your WRT54G is between you and the owner's manual or someone else that owns a WRT54G. I own an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11n base station.
If you find that your neighborhood has too many 802.11g WiFi base stations, then you might consider switching over to 802.11n *IF AND ONLY IF* all the devices you what maximum performace from are 802.11n capable. Keep the WRT54G if you have devices that can not switch to 802.11n (like an iPhone or iPod Touch, wireless printer, or older Mac or PC, etc....)

  • Is there a way of seeing music that isn't in a playlist

Hi there, Im new to itunes so please be gentle with me...
i am trying to put all music in to playlist but am getting a bit confused as to what ive put in a playlist and not.
i know you can right click on a track and see what playlist that one song is in but with over 20000 tracks imported i would be very impractical so was wondering if there was a way of seeing everything that is un-playlisted??
thanks for all your help in advance

  • Why is there so much space below a cell?

    http://www.daddydesktop.com/Typography2.html
This is a page on my Web site as created a few years ago. I am updating it.
As you see, in the column on the right, when a unit (cell) ends, there is probably about a half-inch or more of space between the ending words and the next paragraph/cell. My layout had about half that. On other pages in the site, I see pretty much what I had created in GL CS layout mode.
In the new site, when I view it in either Safari or Firefox, that space below is tripled. Yet I know of nothing I have done to make that happen.
In some cases, I have moved a line down one line with Shift-Return, in some cases, only with Return. In the left column, I have had to move some items down 8 or 9 Shift-Returns to align with material on the right. They may be causing the extra space at the bottom, even though I see them where I put them, in the middle.
Example: In the version you see, the words on the left, "Let us help you mix the right typefaces," are just a paragraph space below the paragraph above. In the new version, with the added returns, in both Layout and in browsers, those words align with "(For example: the tried-n-true..." on the right. Which is what I want.
But as mentioned, when the new one is viewed in two browsers, when I get to the end of a paragraph, let's say, after the words on the right, "substiturte for a really good type library," the space below has tripled. In Layout by the way, I have tightened up the cell so the cell ends just below where the type ends.
Could there be a single cause for that? I see that problem on no other page I am working on.
    Thanks.

Lose the grid. Lose the grid. Lose the grid
    I hate ambiguity.
What are you trying to say?
    OK I'm punchy.
    (a) Every spring my 4-year-old fridge runs loud for days then stops cooling then goes back to normal. Yesterday I spent 25 minutes on Whirlpool/KitchenAid hold and spoke to no one. I can usually handle anything but voicemailjail. Three times, each in spring, the controller board has been replaced. Now it seems to have repaired itself.
    (b) Two of my cats, AFAIK, 16.5 and 18.5 have a variety of attention-demanding and $$$$$$-demanding needs, all of them with emotional content for me. But if you know Yiddish or German you will understand when I say I am a shtarkeh! (I still remember a teensy bit of my grandparents' Yiddish, which they pronounced Eedish.)
    Lose the grid. "Uncle!"
