HT204452 My Mac is blinking all the time after the latest update.

The computer was working fine before the update. Now, it blinks the active screen when I try to load anything. I can't use my softwares or browse on network. Somebody with this issue?

Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Font Book application and validate all fonts. You must select the fonts in order to validate them. See the built-in help and this support article for instructions. If Font Book finds any issues, resolve them.
Start up in safe mode to rebuild the font caches. Restart as usual and test.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t start in safe mode. In that case, ask for instructions.
If you still have problems, then from the Font Book menu bar, select
          File ▹ Restore Standard Fonts...
You'll be prompted to confirm, and then to enter your administrator login password.
Also note that if you deactivate or remove any built-in fonts, for instance by using a third-party font manager, the system may become unstable.
From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
           ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

Onboard mac address is all F's after a bios update - k9vgm-v

Edit: Sorry, seems I should have probably posted this in the "bios" section.
I was having problems with a few of my usb devices being detected as usb1.1 rather than 2. I updated the bios to the latest version, solving that problem, but that introduced a new one. My mac address was lost, it is now FF-FF-FF-FF-FF-FF . As a work around I have cloned the original real address over the F's in Windows. I tried to flash again, but it didn't help.
I assume the /nvmac: command for the dos award flash utility only works with nforce boards? Is there anything I can do to restore the on board mac address (without cloning)?

When I try the MM_LAN.BAT (not MM_1394 or MM_ALL) it asks to "Please Scan 1394 address barcode." This board does not have 1394. Pressing retry results in a screen scrolling full of crazy characters and repeated beeping, then a stack error. "An internal stack error has caused this session to be halted. Please change the stacks setting in your config.sys file and try again."
Trying to run MSIMAC.EXE results in the same error.
Is it possibly my boot cd method is the problem? I don't have a reliable floppy drive available. Although this board has usb floppy/zip/cdrom support, it lacks usb hd boot support. Is there a recommended way of creating the boot cd?
I just booted a Hirens boot cd, loaded dos from there and then inserted a data cd with the MSIMAC files and ran the program.

You need to install more RAM.
OS X Mavericks really needs a real world "working" RAM minimum of 4 GBs.
If you can afford to install more RAM than this, more RAM is always better.
Your year and Mac model can take up to 16 GBs of RAM.
Correct and reliable Mac RAM can be purchased from online Mac RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (macsales.com).
You need to update all of your third party software if there are OS X Mavericks updates that can be applied.
You may need to,ACTUALLY, go to the third party developers' websites if there are no updates through the Mac App Store.
Update all of your Web browser Internet plugins and extensions, also.

Safari (10.5.2) crashes 100% of the time after successfuly logging on .Mac portal.
... and Firefox doesn't.
I've upgraded yesterday night to 10.5.2 and today (while behind an http proxy) I can't get to log in onto .Mac Safari crashes as soon as my login is processed.
Problem Reporter, as always, can't report anything if siting behind am http proxy.
I don't have specific plugins besides the usual QT and Flash players.
So what now ?

Be careful, when you connect the iPhone to your mac, unless you have saved the photos. Synced photos may easily be accidentally deleted by syncing again. And do not enable iCloud Photo Library (Beta), that will erase synced photos as well. Synced Photos are not included in the device backups.
Set your iTunes Preferences to "Devices > Prevent iPos, iPhones, iPads from syncing automatically". Otherwise iTunes may launch and sync your iPhone with an empty iPhoto library the moment you connect it.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to sync the synced photos back. Apple recommends to mail them back, but that would be a lot of clicking (iTunes: Syncing photos - Apple Support). You could also share them to a Shared Album, but a third party app like TD recommended, will be better.

Switch panel lights on all the time after keyboard replacement

I replaced the keyboard on my DV6000, now the keyboard works fine....but the blue lights on the switch panel are on all the time whether the machine is powered up or not. I re-connected everything per the service manual instructions, and have now triple checked my work....help!
Just as an FYI, I have 2 DV6000's, and just today replaced the trackpad on the other one, and now have the same issue with that one!!!!!
What gives?

Reset your phone , you wont lose anything. Hold the home and off button down until the apple symbol comes up.

In my experience, the impact is minimal, especially on something like an iPhone 5S. Mine is on all of the time because I use it all of the time, mostly for my Pebble Smartwatch but also for headsets and speakers.

Is there any way to go back to prvious version of software befoe 1.1 on ipod nano 6th generation. After update it switches off all the time after about 10 secs and I preferred it when I could listen to songs when in sleep mode without using too much battery power

That was the problem. They were there, just not properly linked. I used the one I completed in CS6 trial version (after preflight). When I exported that one and opened it in CS5 all was good. I think I will make the upgrade as soon as I can afford it, but at least now I can make the system work for my needs. Thank you for your help!
