HT2105 Itunes not accepting security code on credit card

I go to update apps or down load them, I am asked for the security code from my credit card. When I type it in it tells me it is involid, I have used this same card before and have had no problems.

Is the address on your iTunes account exactly the same (format and spacing etc) as on your credit card bill : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646 ? If it is then you could try what it says at the bottom of that page :
If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorizations have the correct information on file.
And/or try contacting iTunes support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/

  • ITunes not accepting any of my credit cards

I have tried 5 different cards and repeatedly re-entered the billing info and each time I try to purchase a gift certificate I am told the card was declined. All the cards are valid and useable. What is the problem?

Same problem here. The iTunes email help desk led me through several attempts to get around to problem, to no avail, and finally escalated the issue to their Tier 2 technical support. As of this moment, I have not heard any results, but they said it may take a few days to resolve.
I checked with my CC company and they said I was in good standing and NO verification attempts against my card had been made, although supposedly iTunes would have to do that before they would decline a card.
As many of you, I tried several cards, and the Apple Store rep also tried his! All cards were immediately declined, indicating that there is some sort of broken link or block in the iTunes system.
The big issue with me is that I cannot update (or buy) any apps for my iPhone, nor new iPad, which I bought specifically for a presentation that I am giving next Tuesday. I certainly hope they fix it by then.

The address on the billing statement from the credit card company must match the information that you have filled in on the fields in iTunes when you set up the account. In other words you cannot abbreviate in iTunes if the information for you billing address is not abbreviated on the statement that you get in the mail. If the statement lists your street as "Street" and you type in "St." - that can cause issues. If that's not the problem, sign out of your ID, restart the iPad and sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again.

Where are you doing this? Go to your account in the Apple store and re-enter (not just verify) all of your account information and be sure one click ordering is on and try again

  • My Iphone4 wont let me purchase apps. Says my security code on Credit Card is invalid but its not.

My Iphone 4 will not let me purchase apps. Its says that I have an unresolved balance. My credit card is on file but it says that the security code is invalid. I have tried changing my address to be more specific, but nothing works. I know my credit card number is correct and that the security code is valid. I do not know how to resolve the situation. If someone has experienced this before and knows how to fix it you help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • HT1918 My account is asking me for my security code on my credit card, but it will not accept the code as valid?  Not sure what to do?

I am trying to purchase an app on a new iPad we have purchased.  I'm asked to put in my security code on my credit card for security reasons, but it will not accept my code as valid.  Not sure how to proceed.

  • Itunes will no longer accept any of my credit cards.  Says security code doesn't match with any card I use.  I have inputted new card info in the apple store area and it still says the same thing in itunes.  Customer service is no help at all.

Itunes will no longer accept any of my credit cards.  It says vcode doesn't match when it does.  Customer service is no help.  I have re-inputted the info in the account section of the apple store and in itunes--still says vcode doesn't match.

  • ITunes not accepting my new credit card details

My bank recently suspected some hacking activity, so just to be sure they issued their customers new (VISA) credit cards. The numbers are the same, only the security code changed. I proceeded to change these details in the iTunes Store, and I got the message:
"This card cannot be used with the iTunes Store. Please use another credit card."
Sadly, I don't have a credit card collection. This is my only credit card, and need to be able to link it to my account. I've written Apple Support a number of times now (If any Apple Support people are reading along, its case numbers 616319324 and 615607991.) But I'm not getting any response except their lovely message saying they've received my question, and they'll be in touch.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed?
    Tnx!

    Hi King_Penguin,
I did. I removed the old card, and selected the 'none' option. After exiting and logging back in I reentered the new details, with the same error message coming up. I never had any trouble with my purchases or unauthorised ones. I've been using the card for other things in the mean time too, so it's not that. I think it has to do with Apple having my old card (which has the same number, but different security code) on file, which maybe causes a conflict with my new one.
As I said, I've tried to get in touch with Apple via getsupport.apple.com, but no succes....
