HT2280 Apple TV stopped working.

My apple TV used to work but now just flashes quickly and The TV displays an iTunes logo and a USB cable. I can't access any menus to try anything and restarting just brings me back to the same screen. Is it dead?

I thought it would be nice to see Skype contacts on the large screen and realised this should be possible using my Apple TV, but AirPlay (in mirror mode) on Apple TV stops working when a Skype or Google + conversation is started after showing all right on the TV till that point. I'm using iOS 7 and the problem occurs on my iPad 2 and iPhone 5. Facetime seems to be OK, and Skype works over Apple TV when using my daughter's MacBook Pro (though I haven't tried Google + on it), so I deduce that the issue is with iOS 7. I have had success one or twice with using Skype in this manner on my iPhone so it is not consistant, but this is rare and hasn't happened in my latest attempts. Unfortunately some of my Skype contacts don't have an Apple device so I often can't use Facetime.
Is there a work around, or has Apple acknowledged this issue and said there will be a fix?

iPhone 5s + apple TV + Skype all are up to date. Mirroring is working until the video signal starts, after that the Apple TV goes back to the Apple TV starting screen.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
    1.    Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
    2.    Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    3.    Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    4.    Open iTunes.
    5.    Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

I would suggest signing out of your iTunes Store account from the Settings app on your iPhone. Then go to the My Apple ID website to see if you can log in with your Apple ID and password. You may need to reset it.

Help! Everything was working and now for no reasons with no changes made the home sharing on the apple TV stopped working! now i cant play games on ipad using apple tv!

My wired Apple mouse stopped working for a short time. Trying to figure out why.

System OSX Version 10.9.5 Processor 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7 I was surfing the web & my mouse was stuck on the screen. Could this be some kind of virus- spyware or malware? Never had this happen before. The keyboard the mouse is connected 2 kept working but the mouse stoped working momentarily. I pushed F3 & unplugged my mouse & plugged it back in. this fixed it but I am not sure that had anything to do with what caused my mouse to stop working.

Could be the USB port within the keyboard may have a problem in sustaining
a good connection. Sometimes those extra ports in keyboard fail. You can
see in the hardware portion of the activity monitor software in OS X what is
visible to the system as part of the chained USB items attached to the Mac.
To have a known-good spare mouse, keyboard, and any cable extensions,
is always a fair idea for the sake of troubleshooting and to get past a failure.
I use powered USB hubs with my Macs; but plug the keyboard directly into
the computer so as to have few issues with cold startup keyboard shortcuts.
The mouse does OK plugged into the hub, and a hub positioned so it can
be accessed easier than ports on the back of the computer makes sense.
If there is another hardware issue, or odd software extensions or add-ons
in your main user account, you'd have to test for those possibilities. To
try a second account to see if the same kinds of applications make it fail,
or run the Apple Hardware Test in the main user account, may not take
into the result any software that you'd use when normally at the Mac.
Sometimes the wire to the mouse can get weak and fail near the mouse;
so when that happens, it's best to have a spare on hand, ahead of trouble.
On the other hand, software conflicts could cause a frozen mouse or any
kind of odd pointer activity.

HT3180 Apple TV Stopped Working. Blank Screen.

Morning all.
My Apple TV has suddenly stopped working.
The TV is getting an input, but the screen is blank. Hard booting doesn't help. I've tried holding the handset 'menu' and 'down' button simultaneously - that brings the Apple logo onto the screen, but ti just goes blank again.
Can anyone help please?

I would remote it by connecting it by usb to a computer and restore the firmware using itunes
if that did not help then I would say the appletv had died and would require service or replacement
but of cause it would test with another tv to be sure before doing anything drastic

My apple stopped working, repowered, light comes on in front when you press remote buttom, nothing on TV

If it's rebooting it can take a LONG TIME of flashing the orange light and the Apple logo before you get a menu (to me it seems significantly longer than the initial setup). The Apple logo may even refresh a few times. When you did the unplugging thing, did you unplug ALL THE CABLES and let the machine rest for a few minutes? I had no problem w/ a blind remote reset and it did seem locked when restarting, but it just took a bit of patience.

Apple earpods stopped working...

My earpods stopped working. Bought them on july and this morning the right earpiece didn't work properly. The sound was just so quiet that
i thought the whole earpiece was broken, but there still was some sound but still extremely quiet.
These are my third pair of headsets by apple and everytime it's the same problem. Im just confused cause they havent had any moisture or
damage.
It's not about the money but when i do happend to buy "quality" headsets i dont think that they will last forever but even for a year?!
Im just so ****** off and want to know what should i do in this case? The warranty in these are 12 months right? Bought these from the
apple online store so what's the next step that i should do to get these things working or a pair of new ones?

Apple Push stopped working

Immediately on launching itunes I get the message Apple Push has stopped working and then itunes crashes. I've tried all the suggested fixes in the help file, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, no luck. What on earth is apple push and how can I remove or fix it?
I didn't even plug a device in or make any changes to itunes, it was working great until it just crashed out the blue. So frustrating, thanks for nayone who can help me!

I renamed C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\ASPDaemon.exe to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\ASPDaemon.bak and the problem went away, it's probably because I had data in my User folder that conflicted, but I don't actually use an ipod, just like iTunes to manage my music and purchase new music, so air sync seems a bit redundant.
Hope this helps anyone who doesn't need to wifi sync.

I had this problem too (and with Mail).
Restart computer, then immediately hold down OPTION so you can start from the 10.9 RECOVERY DISK.
Run DISK UTILITY, then run REPAIR DISK, then run REPAIR DISK PERMISIONS.
After this, RESTART, then hold COMMAND OPTION P R at the same time until your computer restarts three times.
After it boots up, attempt to run your apps.

I had the same problem; Apple TV was working proper then for no reason I got the continuous blinking front LED. The Apple TV has no sound or video output at all. I tried reseting the Apple TV via my Apple remote controller but that didn't do anything for me. I finally called Apple and they told me that the way to fix my box is to reset the Apple TV to factory default. So I had to attach the Apple TV to one of my Apple computers and launch iTunes. Once iTunes was running it recognized my Apple TV and I clicked on the option to restore to factory default. After the restore my Apple TV now works properly. My final action on the Apple TV was to sign into my account and enter my password.
