You must restore it, losing anything you have failed to backup or store on your computer or cloud service.

  • IPod is disabled and can't connect to iTunes

    HI,
Can anyone help? My iPod touch is displaying a message " iPod disabled, connect to iTunes". When I try to connect to iTunes I get an error message "iTunes cannot connect this iPhone because of an unknown error 0xE8000065". Does anyone know what I need to do?
    Thanks,
    Ellie

    Hello,
I'am not 100% sure about your problem, but a few things are needed to know what happened. One, did you hack or jeilbreak your device? If yes then you pretty much got brickwd. If not, then did you try to put your iPod in DFU mode and then restore? (DFU - Power+Home button for 10 seconds HOLD, and then home for another 10 seconds.) Hope this helps, though I'amnot sure about the cause.
    Best Regards

  • IPod Touch disabled and can't connect to iTunes?

My iPod touch 4th gen has been fully disabled so that it says 'connect to iTunes'. But when I do that, it says I need to unlock my iPod first, which I can't do because my iPod is disabled. What do I do? Also, I don't want to restore my iPod because I don't have some data backed up. Thanks.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. You have no other choise. In the future make sure you frequently backup your iPod.

  • I am rying to un-disable my disabled 4th generation iPodTouch. It says that I need to enter the password on my iPod but my iPod is disabled and says to connect to iTunes. Any help? It won't even show up in the left sidebar. Help?? :/

I am trying to re-able my disabled iPod. It is a 4th Generation iPod touch 8gb. It has a crack screen and the lock/sleep button and the volume buttons do not work. It says in red ribbon on the top of the screen, "iPod is disabled Connect to iTunes". When I connect it to iTunes it doesn't show up in the left sidebar. Instead a message pops up and says, "iTunes could not connect to the iPod 'Madyz iPod' because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter you passcode on the iPod before it can be used with iTunes." What do I do? I would really appreciate help.(: thanks.

If you can't enter the passcode then you have to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod via iTunes. For ecovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
Note that this requires using the sleep/wake button.  If you are not successful then there is nothing else that I know you can do.

Did you follow the steps in the bottom section that discusses what to do if you have never synced with iTunes before?
You can try forcing it into recovery mode:
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.

  • HT1296 My ipad 2 is disabled and i never connected to itunes what do i do??????

My ipad 2 is disabled and i never synced it what do i do?

If you forgot your iPad passcode and it is now disabled, or if your iPad is in Recovery Mode and that's why it's disabled, you have to restore with iTunes. Whether you have synced with any computer in the past doesn't really matter. That's suggested just so that you can restore from the iTunes backup and sync your content back to the iPad after you restore it.
You still need to use iTunes to restore.

  • My iPod is disabled and won't connect to itunes no matter what I do.

I have unistalled itunes, reinstalled it, sent the ipod into recovery mode and it still won't connect. Please Help!!

    1.  Exactly how did you uninstall iTunes?  (It can't be done!)
    2.  What happens when you attempt to connecg?  Any messages?
    3. Try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.
There's more to try but let's go a bit at a time.
