If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

An iPhone 3g cannot be upgraded beyond iOS 4.2.1. That is the final iOS release for the 3g. You would need to purchase a newer iPhone if you want to run any higher iOS release.
An iPhone 3Gs can run up to iOS 6.1.3 but not beyond that.
An iPhone 4 would be the minimum older model to be able to run the current iOS 7.0.4

Yeah, Firefox and Flash Player isn't a super stable combination on Windows 8.1 at the moment. We're collaborating closely with Mozilla to improve that, but that effort is going to happen over several months.
In the meantime, you might want to take a look at the other options. Microsoft invested a lot of time and effort into making the Flash experience on Win8.1 really good in IE, as did Google with Chrome.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

To restore the MacBook Pro to factory settings:
1. Make a backup of your files because everything will be erased.
2. Insert the Snow Leopard disc and press the C key while your Mac is starting to start from the DVD.
3. Go to Utilities menu > Disk Utility, select Macintosh HD on the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the disk.
4. Close Disk Utility and install Mac OS X

Could someone please help me with getting the sabnzbd daemon to start?

I'm a classic newbie. I managed to follow some instructions I found on the web to get sabnzbd to install (via Yaourt), and when I invoke it from the command line, it works fine.
I've read that you can get it to start as a daemon, which would be really good. Could someone please explain how this should be done?
Where do I need to put the sabnzbd.init file?
What about the sabnzbd.confd file?
I'm okay enough with adding sabnzbd to the /etc/rc.conf file, but I can't quite configure it so that the necessary files are in place to start it.
If you need any details of my setup, please let me know.

Apart from the wiki article on ABS, always look at the pkgbuild when in doubt. This is also helpful when you want to know what compile arguments are passed to GCC. Custom postinstall commands are run through .install file (example what is displayed after installation), this is generally foo.install in the AUR for a pkg named foo. And most importantly, familiarize yourself with compiling process, and Arch specific routines like a daemon should be defined in /etc/rc.d/, instead of /etc/init.d/ in other linuxes.
Edit: A best exercise would be to create a pkgbuild yourself. Arch always recommends community contributions.

But I can't get it to work. And yes, I understand the video will only play when exported as a pdf -- not in the indesign document. Help! Donna

Could someone please tell me how to go about writing a java program that would be able to process a statement/sentence. How can I make it is so that when someone types in a statement/sentence and presses enter, the program calculates the total number of words in the statement and whether it ends with a period, question mark, or an exclamation. Could anyone start it off for me so I'd be able to see how it works. My textbook doesn't contain any samples that pertain to this. Just in case you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's what my handout says . . .
Write a Java program to process a statement. You may assume that the statement contains a series of words each separated by exactly one blank space and ending with exactly one punctuation symbol which is either a �period � for a sentence�, �question mark � for a question� or �exclamation point � for an exclamation.� You may assume that the statement fits on one line, it does not wrap over more than one line. You may also assume that no other punctuation symbol is used other than the ending character of the statement.
The program should output:
1.     The type of statement processed (sentence, question or exclamation).
2.     The total number of words in the statement.
3.     The longest word in the statement � if multiple words are of the same longest length � output
the first of those words found in the statement.
4.     The shortest word in the statement � if multiple words are of the same shortest length � output
the first of those words found in the statement.
5.     The number of short words found in the statement (containing 1-3 characters).
6.     The number of medium words found in the statement (containing 4-6 characters).
7.     The number of long words found in the statement (containing 7 or more characters).

Do you have a copy of the full error mesage that you could post? What operating system are you using? Are you using Acrobat or Reader (there is not program Adobe, it is the company name)? If you are using Reader, you might get better information in the Reader forum.

The colours are incidental. They are NOT labels any more. You will be frustrated if you try to use Tags to visually find your files.
The advantages of tags are this: you can add as many tags to a file as you like. They provide additional metadata so that you can query your file system. In a typical hierarchical file sytem (folders, subfolder), a file can only be in one place (unless you use aliases).
If I have "Cheeses > France > Soft" as my folders, I can put all the French soft cheese into one folder. But all the English soft cheese are in England > Soft. So what if I want to list ALL the soft cheeses, not just the ones from France? By tagging all the files with "Soft", I can then click on the Tag Smart Folder and list the soft cheeses in both countries' folders all at once.
If used creatively, you could have ALL the files in your Documents folder in one big heap, and then only view subsets of them according to their Tags. Tags represents a complete alternative to using folders to sort your files.
In a sense, a subfolder is simply a Tag in a tree-like structure.
So, instead of trying to visually find some files in a list using coloured labels, you can now query the file system by creating Smart Folders that give you a list of files that match your query: files with Tag X, in folder Y, of type PDF, bigger than 2 MB, containing the word "trumpet".
Visually scouring a folder for files is not as efficient as directly querying the system, even if it is engrained and familiar.
