Hi jasjam007,
Welcome to the Support Communities!
The first thing I would suggest to open the Applications folder on your Mac.  In the Utilities folder you will see the Disk Utility application.  Follow the instructions below to Repair Permissions on your internal hard drive.
Troubleshooting permissions issues in Mac OS X
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2963?viewlocale=en_US
Restart your computer and see if that resolves your issue.  If not, you may need to drag the iTunes application to the trash and redownload it from our website:

I hope this information helps ....
Have a great day!

  • Error 42408 with Itunes 10.4?

Has anyone else received Error 42408 with Itunes 10.4.8?  If so, is there an easy, straightforward way to fix it?  All the answers I have found online so far sound very confusing.  I cannot connect to the store, or synch my Ipod Touch.  I noticed it was a common error for Itunes 9.0.3, but I just updated my Itunes a couple of days ago, and didn't have any problems before that.

    Hi,
re: the dialogue:  You do not have enough access privileges for this operation  Error code -45054
A fellow musican I know had an identical issue with this and asked me to check it out.  I fixed it and wrote a long set of instructions on my blog.  His problem was with 10.6 but it was an update he did preparing to move to Mavericks.
I was able to reproduce the error by just removing the /Shared folder from /Users

  • Unexpected error -600 with iTunes?

I recently got a new HD and restored from backup and updated to 10.4.9. When I first updated to 10.4.9, I started getting app not responding messages with iTunes - it would have the arrow in the dock and the toolbar was listed but then would stop responding. I re-installed iTunes and it got better but still happens every few days. I can force quit in the Finder but the triangle stays under the icon in the dock. I can force quit with Activity Monitor but then if I try to open the app from the applications folder, I get a -600 unexpected error. Anyone have any idea what's happening? Sometimes it doesn't respond but then eventually (minutes later) works. Sometimes it opens no problem. Sometimes I have to restart to get it to respond.

I am getting the same error but it happens when i'm synching my ipod with itunes

Yep! I got the same thing. (and the failure to launch full screen mentioned elsewhere).
Please let me know if you find a way to sort this out.

  • TS1424 error -45054 on iTunes

    iTunes player will not open

You've posted in iTunes for Windows but your profile suggests a Mac. Which is it?

  • OutlookSyncClient error/crash with iTunes 7.5.0.20 and iPhone 1.1.2

Anytime I try to sync my iPhone with Outlook Contacts or Calendar I get a popup window that says:
"OutlookSyncClient has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Then it has 3 buttons: Debug, Send Error Report, Don't Send
I've tried several of the suggestions on the web, such as downgrading iTunes, creating a new PST file in Outlook, reseting the sync history, etc.
It seems a lot of people are able to get around the issue by creating a new PST file indicating that there is an offending contact or calendar entry, but I can't even get this far. I was hoping the new 1.1.2 firmware update would fix the issue, but no luck.
Is anybody else having this issue?

    dwichman,
Typically when you see this error, your .PST file is not in a unicode format. For more information about this error, please take a look at this article:

  • Error 1202 with iTunes Store and Windows Vista

When I try to redeem music on iTunes Store, or access my account, etc. I receive "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-1202).
I have read many similar posts and tried many fixes (checked time/date on my computer, made sure LAN proxy settings is unchecked, turned off my Norton firewall, tried to access iTunes Store in safe mode, etc.). None of these worked. Please help as we would like to purchase music from the iTunes store and have done so successfully in the past on this computer.

This problem is related to having your computer, Apple device, etc
(from your current physical location) being unable to resolve/connect to
the following site/domain names and their related IP address(s).
The following table is presented to help explain/clarify this issue:
    Site/Domain name | IP Address
    phobos.apple.com | 17.250.237.43
    deimos3.apple.com | 206.169.246.144
    albert.apple.com | 17.149.240.64
    gs.apple.com | 17.151.36.30
    itunes.apple.com | 206.169.246.171
    ax.itunes.apple.com | 206.169.246.139
If ANY of these sites/IP address are unresolvable (via PING for example)
then the ability/usability of Apple's iTunes (and the Store) will suffer.
To have yourself verify that (if) you can connect to these sites, you'll
need to open up a MSDOS/Command prompt window
and then type "ping" (without the quotes) and one of the (above) listed sites.
For example you would type the following at your command prompt:
ping phobos.apple.com (then press the return/enter key)
which (should) give you results like this:
pinging phobos.apple.com.akadns.net http://17.250.237.43 with 32 bytes of data:
Note: Anyt response other than "reply" (like Request timed out)
indicates a problem resolving the site's name to an IP address
and (generally) has NOTHING to do with your (normally functioning) computer
as this is dependent on the ISP (Internet Service Provider) that you are
using to connect to the Internet (like Sprint, Insightbb, etc) with.
The 'key' here is that it's the ISP's responsibility to (properly) resolve
the site's name to (one or more of) Apple's sites.
If (however) Apple (itself) is (currently) experiencing a DDOS attack
(Distributed Denial Of Service) upon one (or more) of it's sites, then THAT
would explain a possible cause of the problem.
However I stress THAT is NOT the problem since I can connect from my Insightbb
(ISP provider) at home but (currently) can not connect at work via their ISP.
This is (also) WHY the "tag" of the FQDNSN (Fully-Qualified DNS Name)
is listed as http://akadns.net since that is the ISP/Router resolving the DNS name!
I hope that this has helped shed some light as to WHo's problem this REALLY is,
and will help to stop the Apple-User 'finger-pointing' game in it's tracks!

  • Sycn error -50 with iTunes 5 and iPod Photo 60G

    Hello,
I updated to iTunes 5 (german) on a W2K SP4. The first sync with my iPod Photo was fine. Now I synced again and received error: It was not possible to syncronize your iPod. An unkown error occured (-50).
After that I updated my iPod to latest iPod Updater 2005-09-06, but still get the same error.
Anyhow it seems that the sync still work. At least for renaming playlists.
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks a lot,
    Tim

    Hi Tim,
you might want to restore your iPod completely using the Updater 2006-09-06. Even though it's a hassle, but I had some cover art mess on the iPod, but not in iTunes. So I restored with Updater and after that the syncing worked fine and ever since.
    Hope that'll help!
    Best

  • Unknown Error -3256 with itunes

I have joined my airport express to my existing wireless network and now when I try to use both my local speakers and my distant speakers at the same time I get: "An error happened while connecting to the distant speakers <<name of my speakers>>. An unknown error happened (-3256)"
    Can any body please help?

Just curious about the UPD Traffic Blocking. I could not find this info on my Mac & I am having the same problem with getting the (-3256) error code.
I can play in iTunes either multiple speakers separately but when I check both boxes I & try to get them both to play is when I get the error code.
I'm sure that there are other issues & suprised that not more is talked about in the Apple Discussions forum.
    Thanks,
    Jay
