On the iPad you can hide the keyboard anytime while typing. I cannot see a way to hide the keyboard when typing a mail message. I saw a post saying you close, save, go to your saved messaes and open the message again - too time consuming. There is a fix on the jailbroken site, but I dont want to jailbreak the phone. There must be a way to hide the keyboard in a mail messge. In a text message you can. Any help would be appreciated.

I CAN, but not fully for a preview, as the text box goes up completely after 80 odd characters on the iPhone.
So, now i cannot see a previous message for reference.

I find it's touchy. Tap anywhere on the note to bring up the keyboard. If you tap and hold, you won't bring up the keyboard. Just tap momentarily.
If you can't get it to work, try restarting your iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears, then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If it still doesn't work, try resetting your iPad. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

in the preferences tab you will see keyboard, and then you can change it to be in french instead of english... and if need be you can pop out the keys and move them around to how you are used to...

Only in firefox, and only recently am I having problems typing anything through firefox, as the slightest touch of my laptops touch pad causes the mouse pointer to jump along with my typing cursor. This is causing major issues as I conduct all y business emails through firefox. If this cant be helped I will have to start using Internet Explorer Again. EVERY other program I use auto hides the mouse while typing, Except FF....

Please assist me in my quest to fix my keyboard. I am currently typing from alternative computer. Just a few hours ago, my keyboard started typing in symbols and Latin instead of letters and not Latin. I did not do anything. I did not reset my language. WHAT IS GOING ON? HOW CAN I FIX IT?

I bought an iMac yesterday, and this morning it's doing the same thing. I've been asked to take it back to the store tomorrow, which is such a pain.
I have also found that in safari it will download the page instead of opening it, unless I open in a new window. It does the same thing in all apps, but only after you've been typing a few sentences, which all appear ok. I have tried disabling the alt key, which did not work, and checked languages etc, and all set to English....
Any thoughts? Thankfully my macbook is ok, otherwise I'd be really stuck!!

Scrolling through message thread while typing new message....

Prior to iOS7 when I typed a long text I could press edit while typing to scroll up to see the previous message. Now once I've filled the screen I can't find anyway to go back and look at the previous message until I've pressed send... I type a lot of long messages and it's annoying to not be able to see what I'm replying too..... Anyone know how to do this ? Thanks....

I thought so too but apparently you can read them. You just swipe the tiny bar above the message you're typing down (underneath the name of the person you're texting with) and you can re-read your messages

Pressing Esc while typing a message deletes my mes...

Here is the problem:
I'm writing a message, and I accidentaly press the Esc character.
The message is instantly gone, no prompt, no dialog no nothing.
And I can't even get it back, Ctrl+Z doesn't do anything, arrow keys as well...
I think that this is a flawed UI design and I couldn't find a way to change it.
If someone has a solution I would be very grateful.
Typing the message in Notepad and copy-pasting is not a solution.
Skype version: 7.3.0.101
OS: Windows 7 64 bit

This takes you back to your chat without deleting anything.

In my version of Skype, the "Compact View" is actually called "Split Window View".
Nevertheless, it works like you've described it.
It would be nice to have that option in the "Single Window View" as well.
I might ask for that feature, If I can find how to do it.

Forms 10G - How to switch between Arabic and english languages.

We have a bilingual ( ENGLISH , ARABIC) form .Some of the text feilds are to be
filled in english and some in arabic . In forms 6i
the switching from LTR and RTL worked fine .We used the feild properties and
direction and language would suffice to get the required behaviour of forms.
Now in forms 10g since they work in a browser its not getting the desired
effect of changing direction in arabic feilds the cursor blinks at the right
side of the feild but still the language is english .
What am i missing here to have the feild in the form type in arabic .
PS numbers work fine .Its only the language text ie the script of the language

You can't switch languages in OS X programs, just in the OS itself. Insert the Leopard OS X disc, and choose your new preferred language when prompted.

In System Preferences>Keyboard check the box for Show Keyboard And Character Viewer In Menu Bar. Then then go the box that will appear on the Menu Bar between the sound and the battery. Select Show Keyboard Viewer. This will show you your keyboard. If you press the Shift key it will show you what letters will type when you type with the shift key. Same with the Option key.
Or you could open Text Edit and type each row of the keys and see what comes up.
