HT2404 how do i download the app store

I'm having such a hard time with this system. I can not operate my email, get icloud or anything? Is there anyway to download the app store and upgrade my system?

Mac OS X 10.6 must be installed from a DVD; these can be purchased from the online Apple Store, or can be gotten for free from the MobileMe site by paid MobileMe members.

    Hi,
Have you tried a Restart since doing the Update...?
If Yes and you still don't have it...

The App Store is a pre installed app that cannot be deleted.
Swipe to the left of your Home screen. Type in   app store   in the search field at the top of the window.
If you can't locate it that way, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout

As you have 10.5.8 you need to upgrade to at least 10.6.6 to get the App Store as this was the 1st version it came with.
A workaround is to get a friend who has 10.6.6 or better to download Lion for you without installing it. You can create an App Store account on the friend's computer I think to do this. Copy the Lion installer from that computer to a USB stick or burn it to DVD and you should be able to install it on your own computer, I think. You might have to create an empty partition on your own computer first for Lion installation as I'm not sure that it will install over Leopard.

  • HT1848 how to download the app store?

how to download the app store on iphone4 ?

The App Store app is on your iPhone now and cannot be removed, so there's nothing to download. If you can't find it, it may be on another home screen or inadvertently hidden in a folder. Either do a search for it or try the Reset Home Screen Layout in the Settings/General/Reset area. Also, check the Restrictions to see if purchasing apps has been turned off, and if so turn that back on.
    Regards.

  • How do I download the latest OS if my OS is too old to download the App store?

However I can't download app store without latest OS.
However I can't download the latest OS without the app store.
How do I get around this

You purchase a Snow Leopard DVD at any Apple retailer or from the Online Store. Upgrade to Snow Leopard. Upgrade Snow Leopard to 10.6.6 or later via Software Update. Then sign in to the Mac App Store using the App Store application in the Dock with your Apple ID. Purchase and download Lion.
Look at the following if you want to create your own bootable Lion USB flash drive installer:
    Make Your Own Lion Installer
    1. After downloading Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Lion application. After Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Lion installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing Lion.
    2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
    3. Locate the saved Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
    4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
    Open Disk Utility.
Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Drag the InstallESD.dmg disc image file into the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable Lion installer that  you can use without having to re-download Lion.

Manually download and install the 10.6.8 v1.1 Update Combo. It will take your Mac to 10.6.8 in one installation and install the newest version of the Mac App Store for you.

  • How do I download Mac App store on my OS X 10.6.2?

How do I download Mac App store on my OS X 10.6.2. desktop? I am trying to upgrade my operating system?

You must upgrade to 10.6.6 but preferably 10.6.8 in order to have the App store,
You need to have a Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
Before you start upgrading, back up your files.   If you are unsure how best to do this, the following link is hugely informative.   Most commonly used backup methods: Apple Support Communities
Once you have upgraded, if your upgrade took you to 10.6.3 you will need to apply the Combo updater.  Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1  and follow with software updates to pick up the most recent security and iTunes updates.
At this point you should have Snow Leopard and the App Store.   For the moment we will go no further,

  • Already bought iWork. How do I get the App Store to recognize App purchases that I've made over the past few years?

I know I'm not the only person experiencing this issue, but I can't find who else has a solution. Essentially, I've been buying Mac Apps over the past few years and using them frequently. Now the App Store exists. Awesome. But how do I get the App Store to understand that I have all those past purchases and serial numbers? I'd love to download the Apps through the App Store because it's a better system of downloading and updating apps, but that convenience isn't worth the extra $300-400 I'd spend re-downloading all those apps.
Does anyone have any advice or experience with a work around to this?
    Thanks in advance.

As Carolyn has told you, you cannot opt Apple apps that you have acquired from some other distribution stream into the MAS stream. Period. It does not work that way. It will not be working that way. And many folks have come here wanting it to work that way over the last seven months or so that the MAS has existed.
If your End User License Agreement does not allow you to install the apps that you have on your new Mac, then the only way to get it today for the new Mac is to buy it from the MAS. The MAS apps use a different type of DRM and there are no serial numbers involved, they are tied to your Apple ID. If you are not ready at this time to purchase apps from the MAS then I would remove the apps from any older Macs and install them on the new Mac to transfer your EULA there. Then when a major paid upgrade becomes available in the future opt that app into the MAS by buying it through the MAS. That should be the only way to get the app in the future, Apple no longer is issuing boxed apps, just currently selling off any of the surviving stock.

  • How do I get the App Store for Mac Pro?

How do I get the App Store?  I bought Snow Leopard 10.6.3 so that I could download Lion so that my MobileMe email account would work again.  Installed Snow Leopard and no way to get Lion because I don't have an App Store.

  • I have purchased an app for my iphone 5c but how do I download the app ? There is no icon for it on my phone.

I have a new iphone5c and have purchased an app for it at the App Store but how do I download the app ? I thought that after I had purchased it, the app would automatically download and an
icon would appear on my phone but it hasn't. What do I do ?

When you make the purchase, the app should commence to download.
Open the App store app and check under Purchased. If there is a cloud icon (rather than Open), tap it and assuming you have a connection it should download.
If it will not download, you may have the App store set to only download when connected to WiFi (find a wifi signal, or change the settings: Settings app > Cellular > [look under Use Cellular Data for]
If the  app shows Open (#1 above) it is likely on an alternate home screen. Swipe left-right on the home screen to expose these.
