HT2404 Where do you download apple applications support
I have uninstalled itunes & quick time several times. It always pops up with the same message that apple application support was not found. Does anyone know where to download it?

An amplification on T'D's excellent explanation. There are some who for a variety of reasons have an Apps Folder in their User / Home Folder. I had that back in OS 9 when a local guru, sarcastic small g, set me up with a 9 gig OS Partition. To make some room I put not Apple apps in the other, larger, Partition.

Experienced problems with Itunes and research had me delete several apps. I have downloaded Itunes but now I need to download Apple Application support. Itunes won't download. apple application support error.
When trying to download itunes in order to use my new nano device, The error message need apple application support comes up. Have contacted maker of my laptop (Toshiba) they want me to pay for their help. I don't have a geek squad plan. there has to be a way to get the apple application support in order to enjoy my new nano. Or, I'll have to return it. any suggestions.

Dell Inspiron should be an Intel Core Duo...I have one that is 2 1/2 years old with Vista, seldom use because the MBP is so much faster for my work. Best way I have found to install iTunes on tthe Vista machine:
Download the iTunes file, but do not install.
Turn off firewall and virus protection.
Restart
Login as Admin
Run the iTunes file to do the installation.
Turn on firewall and virus protection.
Logout and back in as standard user.
Vista likes to leave other installers, you get McAfee with the Dell machines and that updates daily, running in the background which then conflict with the Apple installer and give the kinds of errors you are seeing.

Apple Application Support wont download.
My computer was runing slow so I decided to delete a lot of things. When I was done I re downloaded itunes and it said that I needed to download apple application support, So I tried almost everything to get it to download but a error keeps popping up. This is the error. Please Help.
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 8007054F, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?) -
It says this when I try to open iTunes:
Apple Application Support was not found.
Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again.

You need to repair your computer so it can run iTunes. If you plug those error codes into your browser you may get an answer. -

Have downloaded i Tunes 10.5.1.42 but get an error message on installation saying unable to write to CFNetwork.dll. This file is present in Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support which is where it should be....any ideas??

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards? -
I tried to download the latest upgrade and I got a message telling me "The application or DLL ProgramFiles/CommonFiles/Apple/Applie Application Support\ApplePushService.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette." and then below that another message "iTunes was no installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 193). I tried reinstalling and it still will not work.
Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7,now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP,head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

itunes 10.1 will not download because I can't get old apple application support off my windows XP. Help!
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Next, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:

I get the following error message when trying to download ITunes on my computer running Windows XP - Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple Application Support\CFNetwork.dll
