HT2404 Why isn't 'APP STORE' easier to FIND??????

Can someone PLEASE explain why The geniuses with Apple DO NOT ALLOW US TO BOOKMARK THE  APP STORE (ver. 1.3) or any other version directly from our BROWSERS? Apple forces us to zigzag through their site to FIND additional software created by 3rd party developers.. Is it asking too much that APPLE would Allow us to BOOKMARK it? So that we can go right to it, they could even place a LOGIN-link on it..Sheez.

First off, while not an Apple employee I share your sentiment that finding software can be hard sometimes.     Please though do not make multiple posts on the subject.    It makes it hard to know where you are looking for replies.    Regardless, you are speaking to a user to user forum here.
As others indicated the Mac App Store is only available for Mac OS X 10.6.6 and later.
Since you didn't post in the Mac OS X 10.6 or later forum, it makes it hard for us to know if you are asking this question because don't have 10.6 or later yet, or if you are just lost in the forum.   If you have some version of 10.6 earlier than 10.6.6, you can get 10.6.6 from here:
Mac OS X v10.6.6 Update Combo
If you have 10.6.6 but can't find it in the Dock, it looks like http://www.maclife.com/files/u220903/mac_app_store_in_dock_324px.jpg
And you will also find it in the your hard drive -> Applications folder, and can drag it to the Dock from there if you accidentally removed it.   The Dock is the translucent taskbar for shortcuts and minimized windows, and the Trashcan for file deletions.
If you are running 10.5.8 or earlier, 10.6 is not free, and is only available to people with Intel Macs.  Your Apple menu -> About This Mac should say Intel if you have an Intel Mac.       To get older software, you can look at my FAQ*:
http://www.macmaps.com/macosxnative.html#NATIVE
Which has links which may not be up to date, but should get you started.
Lastly, if interested in a particular type of software, this forum will gladly help you find it if you can share with us your computer model and operating system.
