HT2470 My finder does not have the option to search for everything, only file names.
Is there a place I have to change settings?
"Add folder ..." is in the File menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the File menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:

iOS 5: Updating your device to iOS 5 or Later
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4972
If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

Identify Your iPad
http://www.ifixit.com/Info/ID-your-iPad
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.0.4. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.
You can no longer update to iOS 6.x, or down grade the iOS.

How to Upgrade to iOS 7
The iOS 7.0 update requires around 2.5 GB of storage space, so if your iPad is almost full, you may need to clear up some space. You can check your available space in Settings -> General -> Usage.
There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
Go into the iPad's Settings.
Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.

Hi guys,
I cannot get my Apple TV to connect to the only available wifi connection in my building.
Basically when I log on to it with other devices you have to type in a password (like all wifi connections) but then it opens a browser window with a user agreement that you have to accept each time you log on. Since Apple TV does not have a browser option I can't log it on.
Is there anyway around this issue???
Or is there anyway to get content from my iPad to display on my Apple TV without an Internet connection on the Apple TV???
Thanks guys!Is there anyway around this issue???

Firefox 4 does not have the option of choosing which page to go back to
Previous versions of Firefox (and IE) have a down arrow as part of the page back/page forward facility. This gives the option of how many pages you can go back or forward from the current open page.
Firefox 4 no longer has this facility. This is not a posaitive move on Mozilla's part. Will it be restored at the first update? Here on Firefox 4.01. And the option you look for is still there but they replaced it's position: it now is on the right of the URL bar together with the refresh-button and the add-bookmark-button.
Personally I think it's a bad place for that back-button because it was perfectly and logically placed where it was. -
My iPhone 3 does not have the x on apps for me to delete , so how can I delete my apps
My iPhone 3 does not have a x at the corner of my apps when I press and hold, so how can I delete apps?
Hey Sharifa04,
It sounds like you may have Restrictions enabled, specifically the restriction of deleting applications. You can disable this behavior in Settings > General > Restrictions > "Deleting Apps" (Note: You'll need to enter your restrictions passcode to disable restrictions). For more information, see the following article:
iOS: Understanding Restrictions (Parental Controls)
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213
Also, keep in mind that you will not be able to delete the pre-installed applications on the iPhone, as they are required by the software.
Thanks,

Lync 2013 click to call from Outlook 2013 does not have the option for Lync call
Hello,
We are currently migrating from OCS 2007 r2 to Lync 2013. We are on office 365, but Lync is on premise. After migrating several users the option in Outlook to click to call someone only shows one option, which is to call the person's desk phone. Before there
was a dropdown where you could choose desk phone, mobile or Lync call. This issue isn't happening to everyone. We are using Office 2013 and Office 2010. Please let me know if you have suggestions or if you need more info.
Not sure if this is related, but some people have lost the option to view their contact's pictures.
Thank you in advance,
MitchHi,
Please see the image below, are we talking about this?
If a contact doesn't have a phone number, we surely can't call him.
You can try updating the Offline Address Book to see the result:

If I got anything wrong, feel free to post back.

Creating Custom fields does not have the option to create as a Note field
Of course I have a sales VP that wants to be able to see what they are typing instead of having it scroll off the screen as they type (even though once they save the record the data is fully displayed).
Before I go to customer care is there a way for me to request through support that two custom fields I created as Text (Long) can be changed (or new ones created) behind the scenes as a Note field similar to the Comments field? Note is not an user option when creating a custom field.
I ucan not just rename the description field in the account record as I am already using that field for comments.
Thanks,
CarynIt is not possible at this time to create a custom Note field. This is something that is on the On Demand roadmap as a enhancement.

I am on a Mac. I am running Firefox 14.0.1 In the tools drop down menu, there is no options button. where is it or how do i restore it to the tools menu?
Thanks for the reply, but I didn't understand it. As you can tell, I am not very good with computer jargon. So, I have to be walked through every step.
Still, I think you were not trying to answer my Tools/option question so much as tell me how to do something else. On this, I could be incorrect. -
My iPhone 6 does not have the option to share photos
When I try to share a photo on my 6, iCloud Photo Sharing is not an option. I have Facebook, Twitter, Mail, Message, Flickr.
I also cannot receive a shared photo on my 6. I can do both of these on my iPad 2 under the same account.
Under Settings/Photos and Camera, there is no iCloud Photo Sharing.
Under Settings/iCloud, the toggle switch is on for photos.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
On another note, is there an app for Apple Support?See the pics below and notice there is no option for iCoud Photo Sharing. I don't see where the manual addresses this.
