All images will appear inline in Mail. How they appear on the recipient's side is up to that software.

This is a ridiculously easy and simple question but I'm a mac newbie and can't figure out how to send photos as email attachments, not embed them in the body of the email. Every time I go to send a picture or group of pictures from i-photo an email message opens....the pictures are embedded in the body of the email and that's how they appear to receipients. In a test, I've sent them to a PC...the message comes through just fine but the photos don't have separate attachments that I can click on and "save as." they come through as bitmap files. Any ideas? THANK YOU.

It will not ALWAYS fix the problem that this topic is about; I had my Mail preferences set to send as Plain Text and it did not fix the problem. Additionally, since there is NOT an option in Iphoto as you previously noted, it might be confusing to some people.
However, for those of you who have the same problem, there seems to be a solution that worked for me. I also had the problem that Mail was overriding my sizing preference when I selected them in Iphoto (share > email) and always sending them as small instead of medium as I preferred.
Since it seems that sometimes Mail does not deploy the plain text default so you need to kick start it to remember. This is how I did it....
- Select the photos you want and hit SHARE > EMAIL in Iphoto
- Now, in Mail click on the photo browser button
- Find another photo in Iphoto via the browser and drag and drop it into the email that you're composing
- You'll see a size option appear in the bottom right hand corner
- Playing around with the sizing option a few times kicked it into gear and it seems to be working better since then

Can't figure out how to send photos to outside lab

Hello, I am new to Apple products and have had my iMac desktop for one week.   I am not very computer savy to start with and it is so different from my old pc.   I also have a new camera - Nikon D7100 - so I am attempting to learn TWO new things. At least my camera came with a user's manual. With my iMac I am stumbling through trial and error and taking up way too much time.   I tried using iPhoto but ended up losing my photo library I started (somehow it just disappeared after a series of error messages saying it was attempting to repair the library). I ended up buying the Aperture app beause I want to be able to do more with photos for my art business. Now I am thinking iPhoto wasn't so bad, all except loosing my library, of course. It was very simple to use. But once I learn more I think I will appreciate Aperture and at least through Aperture I was able to have my photo library restored.   I do not have a good printer yet, however, so I am attempting to have an outside print lab download my pictures to have the prints mailed to me. (Note: I used to use Snapfish but didn't like my last batch of pics. Someone suggested Walgreen's Photo Lab.   Maybe someone has a better suggestion.)
However, I cannot download my pictures to any outside site because they said they must be in jpeg format. My camera is set to take ONLY jpeg photos right now - I need to master this before even attempting raw - so the problem must be on the software use end. When I transfer pics from my camera to my computer, Aperature (or is it thru iPhoto to Aperature I don't know) it gives them a name without a suffix attached. I see that they identify the photo as JPEG at the top of the Info screen and I can go in and change the name and make it SAY .jpeg but even then I cannot download it to an outside photo lab for the same reason - "must be in jpeg format."    Plus to change the name to include the suffix .jpeg I am having to do that one picture at a time - there must be an easier way. How do I make them all be .jpeg photos that can be recognized by outside photo labs?
I would be open to sending my pics to the Apple photo print lab but I can only figure out how to send ONE at a time and that seems very impractical so I am obviously doing something wrong there. How does the Apple photo lab compare to others?   How do I send a batch of photos at one time?
One other question not related to photos - With my p.c. I had a mouse that would let me right-click and move, copy or delete highlighted areas. I cannot find that function at all with my iMac. Is there a "right click" type of function on this computer? I have this cool touch-pad. No more mouse.   Sorry to be do dense. I need users manuals I guess. More hours.   I would appreciate any help so I can spend more time outside in my garden instead of hunched over my computer in frustration.   Thank you!
Oh, one more thing. I cannot figure out my operating system.   My iMac box says "Preinstalled OS X and iLife4" How can I find what version I have? That would be helpful.

As for iPhoto, it sounds like you were trying to move files around in the library. That is a bib no-no in Aperture or iPhoto.

Yes you can if you replace your email client with Adobe Email Service
Open the Organizer and Click Edit à Preferences à Sharing
Under Email settings click the dropdown menu and choose Adobe Email Service
Then enter your name and gmail address.
Obtain the verification code from adobe and paste it into the dialog to confirm.

I am not familiar with FinalCut, but to get images out of LR, you have to export them. In the Library, select the images you want to export, and click Export.
The export dialog presents you with a number of options, one of them is Metadata, where you can select All Metadata.

Hi,
there is no possibility of sending images in Idoc to any other system.
your requirement might be sending the photos of employee to some some other ssytem Via PI.
PI can pick the images from your R3 Via FTP and can route it to the target system.

How do I make AOL my default client so I can send a photo via AOL E-mail. When I try to send a photo to my e-mail, I get a message saying that I must make AOL my default client. I can not see a way to do that. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

You could try this:
1) In your Internet Explorer, select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
2) In the Internet Options window, choose the Programs tab.
3) Select AOL from the Email Drop-Down list.
4) Click Apply and OK.

I was able to imbed photos in an email easily on version 7. Version 11 does not allow me to do that without cutting and pasting each individual photo individually, one after another. What am I doing wrong?

Yes, I am emailing from iPhoto. So when I want to email photos in different Events, I need to make an album first.....kind of a pain. Afterwards, can I delete this album without losing the photos from Events?
What is Photo view? How do I access it and use it? You can tell you are dealing with a person fairly new to Apple and who longingly remembers how easy all of this was on my pc.

I run a small delivery service and I would like to advirtise weekly specials by Mass texting photo / picture
where non of the receipients can see each other.
I've tried a few apps, including "Group Text!" but their app doesn't work.
They have a video posted on vimeo that basically tells you turn off group messaging and imessage while leaving MMS on
The next step is to use the in-app contact list selection.. copy that list.. compose message.. paste list..
Then insert text.. attatch photo
Following these steps allows you to send to multiple recipients, but does so through group messaging.
Can this be avoided?
I want to send a photo to multiple recipients without the recipient list.
