I just lost TWO entire DAYS because Mail keeps dropping passwords from the Key Chain. Apple refuses to even acknowledge the problem exists, let alone fixing it, so why should I persist? Fails to live up to expectations of Apple Customer Experience… dismally.
Next: reviewing my decision to purchase iPhone 5.

FYI, I've given up on Mail about 8 years ago.

Close lightroom - still shows "phantom" lightroom.exe in task manager.

Tried to shutdown und save the Catalog, but Lightroom is not responding any more.
Just upgraded to 5.3 a few days earlier.

Questions on Room State

Hey guys,
     I got some questions on room state:
     1) Does the room state actually take some effect or just an indicating flag? For example, if a room state is ROOM_STATE_ENDED, will it prevent any incoming user connection?
     2) I tried to login as a guest, the room setting is HostNotArrived. Then I logged in as an owner. The state was switched to Active. The result seems fine until now. However, when I quit the owner app by closing the brower tab, and checked the quest page, the room state was still in Active, rather than switch back to HostNotArrived or any other state. Is it an expected result? How can I let the room state update to date if the owner quit in this way?
     3) For my scenario, I'd like to build a room only avaiable when owner arrived. That is, if a guest arrived before the owner arrived or after the owner left, he will not be allowed to do anything , even the connection should be rejected. Is that possible?

Hi Jinni,
1) It should prevent any incoming connection other than OWNERs of the room.
2) HostNotArrived happens only before a room has been "kicked off" by the owner, and not afterwards (even if the owner has left the room, it's still fair to say he had "arrived").
3) I'm not sure there's a perfect way to do this yet. We'll be looking into this use case, which feels like you need some "server-to-server" integration : the ability to detect an owner has left, then a way to shut down the room. Does that seem right to you? For now, a quick way of achieving the functionality (if not the security) is to have your clients detect that there's no owner, and disconnect.

Several ways to get similar results. Image > Adjustments > Posturize with low values similar to what you'd use n Cutout. This is the most flexible way I can think of as you keep the image in RGB mode with layers intact. A more radical approach would be to reduce bit depth using Indexed Colour. You'll need to experiment with settings, try changing Forced to Primaries, and Matte to Foreground Color. There's no going back from this route, although you can change the mode back to RGB to re-enable layers, adjustment layers etc.
A nice thing about the Filter gallery filters is that you can change the layer to a Smart object with all the control that gives you.
Now if only this forum could filter out bizarre content.

However, I know there a quite a few number of changes. I raised this question more than a year ago, and the response I received had to do with the quality of the OCR and the scans of the documents. However, if I use Acrobat Pro XI to save the same documents in Word and then run a comparison in Word all of the changes are marked. When a PDF is saved as a Word document in Acrobat Pro XI, is a different OCR module being used than the one used in Acrobat Pro XI for text recognition?

OCR is only for recoginition of the image / picture of text provided by an scanner.
Content typed into a Word file which is converted to a PDF is (in Word and in PDF) *not* an image or picture of text - it is the digital text. So, no OCR involved.
When the "digital" (renderable) text of a PDF's page content is exported to Word no OCR is involved.
When a PDF's content is from the image output of a scanner and this is a picture of text then OCR comes into play.
If this content is exported to Word before doing OCR then it is the image that is exported to the Word file.
Once OCR is performed it is the OCR output that is exported.
OCR output is (always will be) impacted by "the quality of the OCR and the scans of the documents".
Regardless "Compare" is based on a Word file output to PDF1 then edits to the Word file followed by an output to PDF2. You use Acrobat Pro to do a compare of PDF1 & PDF2.
Paper 1 scanned to image 1 to image 1 in PDF1 that gets OCR 1 and
Paper 2 scanned to image 2 to image 2 in PDF2 that gets OCR 2
being processed with Acrobat Pro's Compare can certainly be done.
But - well you've described what can be observed.

A question on write statement.
I have a internal table itab which has field var. I am looping at this itab and writing horizontal heading output like below.
example on the output heading:
(3 spaces) itab-var (20 spaces) itab-var (20 spaces) itab-var.
the coding is:
loop at itab.
write: 3 itab-var.
endloop.
I want to increase the space by 20 for every loop. How to increase this 3 by 20? Can we accomplish this way?

just add 20 inside the loop , so that after every loop its value increases by 20
for example:
data: v type i.
v=3.
do 3 times.
write: at v(20).
v=v+20.
end do.

I have question about delete statement...
i am performing some simple delete statement against one table..but its taking so long..How can we check whether particular delete statements actually deleting records or not..?

Is the associated select-statement returning rows or not?
If yes -> delete is deleting
If no -> delete is just using CPU-cycles
To tune the delete-statement, you have to tune the corresponding select-statement. To tune the select-statement, you want to read the thread When your query takes too long ...

Hello,
Can I send more commands (statements) at one calling separating them with semicolon?
For example:
.exec("INSERT INTO myTable (col1) VALUES (val1); INSERT INTO myTable (col1) VALUES (val2)"
I tried it through odbc and oci driver, but was unsuccessful.
In case using MS SQL this works fine.
Is there any chance to be able to do this in case Oracle?

You should use just one statement with bind variables, and execute it twice (or more). To make it even faster, you can even specify the bind variables via arrays to OCI to have only one round-trip to the DB.

.exec("BEGIN stmt1; stmt2; END;")
But again in this particular case, bind variable is the way. Read Tom Kyte on the subject, nobody explains it better than him. --DD

The difference is explained by the complicated way that memory is counted and the fact that some space is used up by the operating system which makes the iPod work. My 160GB Classic has about 148GB that I can actually use.
So your iPod is reporting the amount of space that you can use - 111GB

we have installed scsm 2012 r2 (UR 3) with exchange connector 3. We have connected the connector by the workflow Account (domain user "servicedesk" is in local admin group of the sm server and in the sm Administrators group) and have access
to the mailbox on exchange (2010; autodiscovery is working correct). We receive all mails in the servicedesk mailbox on restarting the sm services and see the mails in the opm logs. But no incidents are created and the connector stays in "never
tun" state and does not receive mails any More after the first start. What do we have missed to check? Beste regards Thomas

Reset Security Questions
     There are several different methods. Try one. If it doesn't work,
     then try the next one. Don't try to do everything at once.
Frequently asked questions about Apple ID
Manage My Apple ID
Note: you may need to continue entering false answers to the questions until you trigger the response needed to start making changes. It will take six or nine retries.
Or you can email iTunes Support at iTunes Store Support.
If all else fails:
1. Go to: Apple Express Lane;
2. Under Product Categories choose iTunes;
3. Then choose iTunes Store;
4. Then choose Account Management;
5. Now choose iTunes Store Security and answer the bullet questions, then click
      Continue;
6. Sign in with your Apple ID and press Continue;
7. Under Contact Options fill out the information and advise iTunes that you would
      like your security/challenge questions reset;
8. Click Send/Continue.
You should get a response within 24 hours by email.

Another user had success doing the following:
I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
      tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
      "done", in the upper right corner
c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
      Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
      should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
      security questions.
d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
      selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
      should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
      questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

I don't think that a software update from Apple will solve the issues that you are having. You have a rogue installation. After you posted I have just done the following:
Disk Utility can verify my partitioned Volume (including my boot disk) AND REPAIR the non-boot disks on the same Volume without a glitch. It repairs the non-boot disks containing data smoothly.
I have used Mail to send some mails from some Yahoo and Hotmail accounts to my Thunderbird client containing GMail accounts - absolutely normal.
I have iLife '09 but my iMovie '09 and iPhoto '09 open in a jiffy and I see no issues here. I have 6GB RAM (Maximum) on an early 2008 Macbook Pro with a 750GB hard drive partitioned with 120GB reserved for the Boot Drive.
I am sorry that I cannot help further but I am sure there must be a way to reinstall the software without having to revert to restoring your ML backup. I have two clones and if you have such I would attempt to do that through that rather than through Time Machine - that is of course if you have a cloned drive.

     3. This is the only option if you do not already have a valid Rescue Email.
         These are telephone numbers for contacting Apple Support in your country.
         Apple ID- Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security. Select
         the appropriate country and call. Ask to speak to the Account Security Team.
Note: If you have already forgotten your security questions, then you cannot
