I can't open anything in preview. I can't even quit preview to shut down and restart my computer. Any advice?

Preview not responding

Just installed Preview. Here are steps I did:
open a jpg file
full screen
export the fill
Then I cannot select other type of images such as PNG. Then the preview seems not responding. Eventually I quit the full screen. The menu item File is highlighted but it does not repond for my clicks, I cannot quit Preview. I have to kill it from Apple icon.

I reboot my Mac again. I open one jpg file first. It works fine. Then I open another one, with two files opened. Now the issue appears again. The Preview does not respond after quiting full screen.
I killed the PreView. Relaunch it again. As expected, it restores my previous jpg files as in open status. I close them. I open one PDF file, and try the above steps again. In full screen I can export to different type. However, I open anther jpg file (different from my previous two), now the no responding is back when I am in full screen and export.

make sure your function keys are working ( try to push fn + f5 ) if you don't see anything, just re-install power management and try again.

FCP not responding, help!

Hi there,
I have some serious trouble. I am running FCP 5.1 and I cannot open my program. I have recently had low disc space, but have now freed up space on my start up disc, but still the program will not open. It starts to load but does not get any further than the title screen with serial number etc. Looking in the Activity monitor, it comes up red with a not responding message. I have tried restart and using Onyx to do maintenance on the system, but to no avail!
Suggestions? I have to deliver a DVD tomorrow so please let me know any and all thoughts on what I might try next!

good internet acess
no firewall issues
tested on different networks
went through apple support but no solution
any idea ?

Zen Micro Buttons not responding help!

Hey , My zen micro was working fine till today when I turn it on all my "digital" button are not responding , the only working button is the power on/off button, it syncs perfecly but I cant do anyhing with all the other buttons, I tried reinstalling the firmware but it still dosnt work , ant I cant reset it cause the buttons dont work .
any ideas ?

did you push ur buttons too hard? or squish it or anything? it's a TOUCH pad, so you shouldnt apply too much pressure on it, a good light tap will do it. Are you still under warrenty? call Creative and check it out.

Touch Screen not responding - help!!

The touch screen on my Galaxy S3 is not responding, I reset it to factory settings but it is still not working and now I can not set up the phone.. please help

Try this:
PRESS AND HOLD VOLUME UP + Home Button + Power
Turn the phone off
Press and hold Volume UP and Home (center) button
Press Power until the phone vibrates
Wait until you see the Android logo then release all the buttons
Select Wipe data/Factory reset with VOLUME DOWN, press Power (right hand-side)
Select YES...delete all user data with VOLUME DOWN and then Press Power
After format, press Power again to reboot the phone (select reboot system now)
If you are still unsure you should call VZW tech support.

Fan running at high when cpu not being used, Macbook not responding - Help!

Quite often now when I leave my macbook for an a few hours (the screen goes to sleep but not the computer), I come back to the fan running at full speed and then when I touch the trackpad, I can move the mouse around, but nothing responds (i.e. when I move the mouse over the dock, the dock doesn't pop up...and I can't click anything on the desktop). So I have to hold down the power button to shut it off and then restart the computer. Then it works fine, but if I leave it for a while and come back, half the time I come back I encounter this problem again.
Any help?

Check your activity monitor. Sounds like you have a program running in the back ground your not aware of.
You might also try to reset the SMC and/or PRAM.

Application windows do not respond - help please!

Hi everyone
At first I should say that I did search for this topic in search forum section but all of the cases related to freezing windows app. do not match my problem.
So recently something strange occurs: my app windows freezes (I mean I can't close them nor move them) while everything else works (app is responding) - I can quit it using dock. And when I open it again it appears in strange place like the edge of my screen. It happens with very simple apps like: Finder, Safari and iTunes.
The whole thing started the day before (I don't know if it could be related to this) I have installed cocktail - to clean my macbook and quicksilver.
things I tried: I verified and repaired permissions using Disk Utility. I have also verified Disk (it showed me minor error with disk header) and redpaired it using installation disks.
An the problem still occurs!

I have a similar problem, but for me the unresponsive application (iTunes is doing this as I write) cannot be quit using the dock. Initially, when it first became unresponsive, The arrow still appears under its dock icon to indicate it is there, but when I right-mouse the icon, it goes into the state as if the application was not running (no arrow). Right mouse shows "Open" as an option. I can see the app right there...
Activity monitor sees it and allows me to quit it (gracefully - no force quit required) then the app will launch and All is well... until another app exhibits this strange behavior. I have seen this happen to iTunes, Safari, and Finder most often.
At first I thought it had something to do with safari 3 beta, so I backed that out. Only other things I can think that have changed on my system since when it was in working state was Parallels Desktop 3.0 and the 10.4.10 upgrade. It has been misbehaving since June (through several security updates etc).

Liquify preview not responding mac os x 10.8.2

When I activate liquify, there is no feedback in the editor/preview window. The blue OK button blinks as if its refeshing... but nothing ever happens---even if I wait for several minutes and even if its a simple lo res file.
If I click OK, the effect is applied to the original image.
I have read other posts and tried deactivating "use graphics processor" but no change.
I have a 2010 12core macpro and the ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB
I cannot seem to find info on ATI mac drivers--assuming there is a needed update. But from what i understand, graphics drivers are included in the OSX installation and updates.
Any help would be great. I lean on this tool a lot.

Make certain you do not have the Show Background checked and Opacity set to 100%. This can cause the problem you are seeing.

Preview not responding in 10.9.4

Hi,
Regularly, Preview will suddenly stop responding. It usually happens upon trying to open a new document. I tend to open many documents, sometimes heavy documents. I have tried this solution (moving the com.apple.Preview folder) to no avail. The only solution to get it back working is to restart the computer, which really is just a work around. Any other advice regarding this problem, or tip about how to troubleshoot it?

When you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
          SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
          View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above. Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first. Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

Xcelsius 2008 sp3 preview not responding which I created in CANVAS.

I am using Xcelsius 2008 SP3 free trial version. I made one dashboard and when I click on preview It's give me bar chart and slide bar which is not belong to my dashboard at all which I created. even when I open xcelsius blank file it is still give me bar chart and slide bar.. even this file no exist anymore in my laptop. any help please Thanks in ADVANCE.
