  • How do I set up calendar events that will be for another time zone? My events shift once I travel

    How do I set up calendar events that will be for another time zone? My events shift once I travel. The same is true when I am traveling and in another time zone, how do I best set up my events so they are in the correct time slot upon my return?

    Basically, if your client does not have a Mac then don't use iWeb to create the site. iWeb is Mac only and if a client wishes to make alterations, then they need the domain file.
    If your client needs to update on a weekly basis, then why not consider using one of the online website creation packages where you can log in from any Mac or PC. This would be simpler and there are lots out there - Microsoft Office Live or Google or something like http://www.wix.com where you can create a site and use a domain name with it.
    Look at the alternatives before using iWeb.

  • How to enter events that will occur in another time zone?

    I want to enter an event in another time zone so when in that time zone the correct time is displayed on my iCal.

    Hey twc2629,
    Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you want to change the time zone of an event. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • ICal ichanges the time of the events with another time zone when sync

    I've changed my time zone in my iphone during a trip and when I came back, I reset my actual time zone, then, I syncronized it with my lap and they show different times for the same event.
    Events added directly in my iphone stay the same in it, but appear in another time in my computer, even though I have verified both of them have the same time zone.

  • Calendar app stuck on another time zone.

    I left Nigeria for Kansas, U.S. that's 6 hours behind so I changed the time settings on my phone to KS time zone but the Calendar app on my 3GS doesn't seem to understand that. When I create an event for, say, 8 PM today (to be notified at that time), I get a notification at 2 PM today—6 hours before the intended time. It's like Calendar thinks I'm still in Nigeria. I've been all over Settings and I can't figure it out.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

    There is more than one place to change time. If you set the time to local, you need to go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>scroll down to the bottom under calendar and set the time zone support there for the local time zone.

  • Traveling to another Time Zone

    I did a quick search here, but still a little unsure as to what to do, as there may be an issue with iCal.
    I have a weeks worth of calendar events setup here in Eastern Time Zone for next week. I will be in MT time zone next week with my iPhone. Do I change the time zone in iCal before I leave or do I turn Time zone support off on the phone?
    Thanks for any advice.
    CD3

    I have next weeks calendar events set up in iCal for my time zone here (Eastern) at the time of day that they are supposed to occur.
    For the time of day the events are supposed to occur in the Eastern time zone, or when the events are supposed to occur while you will be in the Mountain time zone?
    If you don't change anything with iCal, leaving Time Zone Support off on your iPhone, events will display according to the time zone of your current location.
    If Time Zone Support is on with your iPhone, Time Zone Support always shows event dates and times in the time zone selected for calendars.
    So it depends on the time you want the events to be shown on your iPhone - Eastern Time Zone or Mountain Time Zone.

  • Count up clock based in another time zone

    I've made a count-up clock. However, I'm trying to get it to
    work off another timezone and am having a few problems.
    Below is the code I've been working with. I need the clock to
    display 12 hours ahead and am unsure as to how to do this. Also,
    when it reaches a certain date in the future, I need it to then
    play another section off the timeline and stop.
    Please, any insight is very appreciated!!

    I can not find a way to add 12 to the clock but you just take
    12 off the date and time, this is my counter and it's my birthday
    14 sept so I set it 12 hours early

  • How to covernt a date/time to another time zone?

    The current system (Unix) is what I'm running programs on.
    When I get the current date and time it is in GMT time.
    I tried to create a new Calendar and specify TimeZone.getTimeZone("EST") then use the getTime() function to get my Date, but that still displaed it in GMT time.

    java.util.Date and java.util.Calendar have no real concept of Timezone, they only know about GMT. They store the number of ms since January 1, 1970 00:00:00.000 GMT. When you display a value you use a Timezone to work out how the time should be calculated.
    For example -
    import java.util.Date;
    import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;
    import java.util.TimeZone;
    public class Test20041116
        public static void main(String[] args)
            Date now = new Date();
            SimpleDateFormat local = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy hh:mm:ss z");
            System.out.println("Local time (Here) = " + local.format(now));
TimeZone(TimeZone.getTimeZone("EST"));
            System.out.println("Local time (EST)  = " + local.format(now));
TimeZone(TimeZone.getTimeZone("PST"));
            System.out.println("Local time (PST)  = " + local.format(now));
    }

  • How do you change the time zone/time on the iPod nano (6th generation)?

    Hello,
    I recently moved to a new city in another time zone and I am not able to figure out (or find out on forums) how to change the time on my 6th gen iPod nano. It's something I would like to fix because the Fitness application records your activity according to time. Any advice would be great!

    Go to SETTINGS on your iPod Nano 6G.
    From SETTINGS -> GENERAL -> DATE & TIME -> TIME ZONE and select the right zone/location form there.

  • ICal time zone support

    Forgive me if this is repetitive. I do not regularly read these discussion groups. I've just noticed a little problem with iCal. We recently moved to another state and another time zone, specifically, from the Central to the Eastern time zone. Time Zone Support has always been clicked "on" in our iCal. Our iMac clock and time zone are set properly, to the Eastern time zone. I just noticed today that the iCal time zone on all my "events" is selected as "Central U.S." But they show up at all the correct times (i.e., Eastern U.S.) on iCal. Is this what Time Zone Support is supposed to do? Convert all the events to the time zone in which you are located? To add to my confusion, I just got an iPhone 3G, it's set to Eastern Time, and all the events synced from my at-home iCal show up one hour earlier than they should on the iPhone iCal. Any suggestions? Thank you!

    suz..
    I just did the following and it seemed to correct the issue:
    - made sure my .me and iCal apps were set to the same timezone
    - turned off timezone support, closed iCal, turned timezone support back on
    - made sure i was not using 'floating timezone'
    that seemed to clear things up.

  • Effect of time zone change on scheduled appointment times

    I have had a Palm Treo 650 for three years. It had its shortcomings, but the calendar was well-designed. I could be in the Pacific time zone and arrange an appointment in New York for 1:00PM on a certain day. When I arrived in New York, the Treo's time had automatically changed to Eastern time and the appointment time was still 1:00PM on the calendar.
    I just bought a BlackBerry 8330 because Verizon's network coverage is far superior to ATT's at places where I spend most of my time. The BB has excellent web access and email, but the calendar has a problem. If I were in the Pacific time zone and set an appointment for New York at 1:00PM and then traveled to New York, the BB's time would change to Eastern, but the appointment time would also be changed to 4:00PM. This can be a trap that can cause me to occasionally miss an important meeting. I can't afford this risk. I'm likely to return the BB and look for another PDA.
    *My Question: Is the iPhone's calendar like the Treo's or the BlackBerry's?*

    Thank you for the quick replies. It is not totally clear to me, but it sounds as though the iPhone may be the same as the BlackBerry. If so, then I have to set a time AND make sure that, at the time the appointment is entered, the time zone is properly set for the location of the meeting. The Treo's meeting time was independent of the time zone that was in effect when the appointment time was entered. There was no special setting for it, but there is a setting to either keep the desired time zone in effect regardless of where the phone was located or to let the network adjust the time zone whenever a trip was made. It automatically took the network time from wherever it was so the clock was always right and the alarm for an upcoming meeting would go off at the proper time even if the appointment was entered while set for another time zone. The statement "Time Zone Support always shows event dates and times in the time zone selected for calendars" doesn't really say how it affects previously set appointments. It will only become clear when someone who travels a lot says how it works in practice.

  • View events in a different time zone?!?

    I see there are older and closed discussions on this questions, long before before Lion and iCloud came into being.
    I live in Greece which is European Central Time and this is the time zone my iCal is normally set to, with time zone support turned on.
    I was in the US Eastern Seaboard for 4 weeks this past Summer and all my appointments entered while there were entered in EST - or DST, whatever.
    According to the iCal Help Menu
         "If you create any new events while the main calendar view is shifted to another time zone, the new events take the time zone of the current view. When you switch back to your original time zone, the events created in the shifted time zone retain the shifted time zone setting."
    Well, they don't: they appear in whatever time zone the calendar is set to - the correct zone can only be seen if you double click on the event.
    Has anyone found a way around this?
    And how is one supposed to handle the departure and arrival times for flightsthat croos over time zones?
    Sometimes Apple doesn't figure on people encountering these problems: as someone said in an earlier post: do they think they whold wolrd lives on Cupertino time?

  • How can I set an alarm clock set to a time zone?

    Hi,
    I am about to go traveling quite a bit in multiple time zones. However, I have to take medication every 24 hours. I use the iPhone alarm to set a time. Is there a way I can adjust it so it goes off whenever it is, say 10pm in US eastern time zone even if I'm in another time zone and my iphone clock is local time?
    thanks!

    Hi, ralphsen01-
    You can do this using window.scrollTo():
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3163615/how-to-scroll-html-page-to-given-anchor-using-j query-or-javascript
    Please note that when you embed an Animate OAM into Muse, you're in effect putting it into an iframe.  Therefore, you need to call the parent window.  You can get more information on this by searching for "iframe to parent communication" in a search engine.
    Hope this helps,

  • How to set a specific time zone for time channel in DIADEM

    Hi,
    I'd like to know how to autmatically set a specific time zone for time channels in DIADEM.
    For example, I have stored data with corresponding time channel in UTC time on a disk which was collected in another time zone. Now I want to analyze this data and I want the time channel to show the local time in the time zone where the data was collected, and not the time in the local time zone where the computer is located.
    The time channel should also take site local summer/winter time into account. Now I'm running a script that handles it for me which adds or subtract hours according to my input. The problem is that I'm handling data from several different time zones and I'm not located in any of them and when you're running a lot of data over a greater time period, it's easy to make mistakes, especially when it comes to summer/winter time. Is there a any clever solution to this already implemented in Diadem that I have not found?

    Hi hj77,
    No, I'm sorry, DIAdem has no time zone functionality at all.  I'm afraid you have no choice in DIAdem but to keep running your scripts.  Summer and Winter time are truly tricky, because the rules for when the changes occur are different in different countries and states within countries and also can change from year to year within the SAME country (as they did in the US a few years ago).
