HT2513 ICal purges my data as time goes by

Why does iCal purge my calendars as time goes by? I want to keep it as a record, that's as important as planning.
Is there a setting I need to fiddle with?
Tell me thisq isn't just the way it is. Apple needs to fix this.

Close all of the apps in the recents tray, reboot the iPad and start all over again.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of every app in the recnets tray. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
See if that helps the performance of the iPad and helps to eliminate the lag.

I've recently erased a calendar group that wasn't supposed to be erased. I tried using Time Machine to restore the data lost but can't seem to find it's location. Does anyone know where I can find iCal data in the hard drive so I can use Time Machine to restore the calendar group?

The Time Capsule automatically scans to find the best available channel to use when it is powered up.
You can see the channel that the Time Capsule is using by holding down the option key on your Mac while you click on the WiFi icon at the top of the screen.
On the example below, the Time Capsule is using Channel 149 at the present time.

It did serve to definitively answer my most pressing
question, however, with this statement:

On the iPod, make sure your Calendar is set to Gregorian (Settings > General > International > Calendar). Also make sure your date and time on your computer is correct as well as the Time Zones on both.

Date and time keeps going missing!

Hi everybody, my date and time keeps going missing from the top bar every time I turn on my mac - sometimes other things go missing, like the airport status.
It used to happen just once a fortnight but after I installed the latest security update, it seems to be happening every time. Does anybody have a reason/fix? Would be much appreciated. Thankyou!

Apple Menu Bar Icons Gone
You've probably got a couple of corrupt preference files.
In "/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences", delete com.apple.systemuiserver.plist
In "/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences/ByHost", delete com.apple.systemuiserver.xxx.plist where 'xxx' is a 12 digit (hexadecimal) numeric string.
This will reset your Menu Bar to the default, you'll need to go through System Preferences to reset the ones you need. (If they are already checked, uncheck them first and then recheck them).

6280 Time and date reset screen goes blank

Whenever I turn my 6280 off at night when I switch it on the next morning the time goes back to 00:00 and the date doesnt change automatically. Called up 3 and they werent much help at all just said to switch auto update of date and time on which I did and it didnt make any difference!!!! Has anyone else had any probs like this?
Also my phone occasionally cuts out either when I am on the internet or just when I am using it. The screen goes blank and then after a couple of seconds it comes back again. Apparently there is a firmware upgrade for the phone and the version I have at the moment is 3.36 does anyone have any idea where I can get this from??

HT1551 Apple TV searches for date and time settings, then the screen goes completely black and I get no response from the remote. Any suggestions?

I've moved to Sweden from Canada, and when I plug my Apple TV in, I get the LED light and the Apple logo, followed by the Setting Date and Time message. After that, everything goes black and I can't make any selections. The LED lgiht is still on however.
Any help would be appreciated.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

I have had this frustrating problem twice. Combinations of resets, restores, restarts of routers etc have been generally unsuccessful.
My Apple TV2 has full internet connectivity (through a internet cable, connected to a D-Link gigabit switch, connected to a Generation 4 Apple Time Capsule, connected to a high speed Comcast ARRIS modem).
The Apple TV2 works well with AirPlay, Youtube, HD movie trailers, HomeSharing music and photos, etc, but won't connect to NetFlix, allow movie rental, or allow iTunes purchased home computer programs to display due to not being conneted to an iTunes account.
And I can't connect to the iTunes store because the "time and date cannot be set".
Note that my iMac is connected to the same gigabit switch as my Apple TV2 and it can automatically set time and date, just fine. I tested by turning off the auto set, setting the wrong time, then turning it back on and having the system time and date properly reset... twice!
This time, my problem was solved by going into the Time Capsule, changine IPv6 setting from HOST to "Local Link". The Apple TV2 immediately knew the time and was able to connect to the iTunes store.
I recall that last time I "fixed" this problem, I changed that same setting from Local-Link to Host.
I agree with lagoed, Apple should fix this vexing problem, the sooner the better.

The exact time point depends on the history option for tracking changes to data in version-enabled tables,
as set by the EnableVersioning procedure (or modified by the SetWoOverwriteOFF or SetWoOverwriteON procedure):
NONE: The read-only view reflects the first savepoint after in_date (or the latest data in the workspace if there is no such savepoint).
VIEW_WO_OVERWRITE: The read-only view reflects the data values in effect at in_date.
VIEW_W_OVERWRITE: The read-only view reflects the data values in effect at in_date, except if in_date is between two savepoints and data was changed between the
two savepoints. In this case, data that had been changed between the savepoints might be seen as empty. To ensure the most complete and accurate view of the data, specify the VIEW_WO_OVERWRITE history option when version-enabling a table.
The following example scenario shows the effect of history option on data seen after gotoDate. Consider the following table:
Employee( NAME varchar2(30) primary key, MANAGER_NAME varchar2(30));
Now assume the following sequence of events:
1. Time=t1: The row ( 'SCOTT', 'ADAMS' ) is inserted into the table Employee.
2. Time=t2: Savepoint SP1 is created.

Why do some events show date and time in ical?

Some events show the date and time, others show only the time. I cannot find a setting in preferences to have it be one way or another. I do enter events both on the computer and also my iphone 4s, but that doesn't seem to be the difference.

Problem with date and time syncing itouch to macbook

i have a problem with the date and time on ical when i sync my itouch4 w my macbookair. whatever i entered into my calendar in itouch will appear different in my ical( with a 6 hrs advance difference) and the alarm i set on my itouch in the calendar doesnt ring at the right time as set even though it is shown the time that i wanted.
Both my macbook n itouch are set to the same time zone and i have checked this many many times n the time is the same on both machine. but i just dont understand why is there a time difference when synced and my alarm just dont sound at the time it was supposedly set. it rings hours later n showing a different time that it was set but in the parenthesis the right time that i had set it.
One time my computer ran out of battery n went into sleep mode and when i open it again, the time n date setting was all off. which im surprised why it had gone off. So did this create the problem i have now with the date n time sync or something else?
please help!!!!

Having the same problem, & am running Parallels (which I haven't used for some time) not boot camp. I tick the box labeled "Set time automatically" & lock the "click the lock to make changes". When I reboot, the Lock is unlocked and the "set time...." is unticked. Any ideas. Cheers.
