HT2513 share my ical calender

how can I share my ical calender with my wifes mac

Thanks for that, but still wondering about the first part of my question?
My husband started using iCal yesterday after me pestering him about how cool it is for awhile. He's really loving it so far.
How do we keep each other up-to-date with all the events we've each typed in to our home & work calendars? Keeping in mind we're sharing our home's wireless network.
Thanks again, Deborah

  • Sharing Ical calender with XP at work

Is there a way to share the same calender that Ical makes on my Mac at home with my PC running XP at work ?
    Thanks Matt

You could use google calendar - access it with iCal at home and access it via internet at work.
Haven't tried this myself but a lot of other people have.

  • How to sync a iCal calender between two people?

    Hello,
I'm trying to find a way to sync a iCal-calender between me and my wife.
We have two apple-computers, and I tried to publish my calender, and then my wife "subscribed" to it. So far everything works ok.
The "only" problem is that the calender is writeprotected in her computer.
My idea was that we should have a calender that is shared between us, so that we could cooperate with info in it. So that both could put info in it.
Could someone please help me out.
    /Bernt

    Hi,
With iCal you basically have two options: (1) publish and subscribe (as you describe below), where you each share a calendar, which as you point out is "read-only" to the viewer or (2) use a sync service (like .MAC) to keep the calendar synchronized (note: it sync's all of iCal, not just an individual calendar.)
The next version of iCal coming with Leopard is going to support the CalDAV standard, and will allow for better sharing/collaborating with calendars.

  • Share my Entourage calender on one computer with users/login accts ???

Hi, I've been searching the forums, and only see answers on this topic for people on work networks/exchange. My issue is for a single home iMac with three users with separate login accts.
My problem is that I have a new iMac and I got office2004 and I would like all the members of my family to use this computer and share the "ENTOURAGE CALENDER" so we can all see who is doing/going what and when.
I can't seem to figure this out and I need some help!!!! Can anyone explain how I can achieve this simply to me?
    I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    -Doug

There is no way to do that without a server being involved. I would recommend using Google Calendar to achieve something similar.

  • How to share my ical to my ipod

I don't know how to share my iCal from my MacBook Air with my iPod (sincronize), please help

Connect your iPad to the Mac.  With iTunes open, select (highlight) the iPad and then select the Info tab.  Configure there.  The Sync box is unchecked on mine because I use iCloud and this would give me double entries.

My friend and I share an iCal calendar through iCloud.  Until recently, we received email notificiations anytime either of us made changes to exisiting calendar events or added new items to the calendar.  Does anyone know why these email notificiations stopped?

iCloud was experiencing problems with this a couple of days ago, where many users with shared calendars were getting email notifications even though their iCloud settings did not select to receive them.  Perhaps when they fixed this problem it reverted your settings to not receive email notifications.  Got to iCloud and check your setting for this.  If it still look correct, try turning off email notifications, save the change, then turn them back on again and save the change again.

Unfortunately, Carolyn doesn't know what she is talking about.
It is absolutely possible to use iCloud calendars on Android using a third-party app called SmoothSync.

  • Can I share my iCal across a network or only thro' .Mac?

Can I share my iCal across a network or only thro' .Mac? If so, how?

I don't think there's a way to share a calendar over a local network, but if you have your own non-.Mac webspace on the Internet, you can publish an iCal calendar to it rather than .Mac. To do this, open iCal and select Publish from the Calendar menu. In the dialog box that pops up, change the Publish On drop-down menu to "a private server" and put in whatever your password is to access the server.

  • Why can't I share my iCal diary anymore with my work colleagues? I used to be able to send a link so the calendar could be viewed in any browser be it PC or Mac platform??

Why can't I share my iCal diary anymore with my work colleagues? I used to be able to send a link so the calendar could be viewed in any browser be it PC or Mac platform??

Ordinary webspace won't do - what you get is a text file: this is the problem - MobileMe took the file published by iCal and formatted it as a calendar. Presumably if you were running your own server as indicated in the help page it would do the same; but unless 1&1 can speficially provide you with a CalDAV server it's not going to work.
Do your colleagues have Macs? For those who do, they can subscribed to a shared calendar in iCal and it couldn't be simpler. Presumably Windows owners could do the same thing in a suitable calendar program; and this is a lot simpler solution.
Another route: according to this site:
    http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/publish-ical-calendars-mobileme-os-server-mac/
box.net can do this for you. I seem to remember that this arose a while back, but I have a feeling that the poster then couldn't get it to work. I can't advise on that, but you might want to investigate it as an option.

  • Copy or export ical calender to Pages

Is there a way of copying or exporting an ical calender month so I can print it in a Pages document?

I don't know "Pages" but if it is like MS Word ...
In iCal, go to File/Print and work through the dialogue to get the layout you want. Click continue, which will bring up the printer dialog, and click PDF to save the "print" as a PDF file. This can be dragged into a Word document.

  • My ical calender doesn't sync with our iphone's

if we create new date's in our iphone calender the ical calender on our Mac OSX 10.6.8 doesn't sync it anymore.....! we do't use icloud!
what is the problem and how can we fix it?
we have iphone 4, iphone 3 and Mac OSX 10.6.8

I think I have the same deal going on.
All this time checking the boxes of what to sync,
now the worst calendar ever on iPhone.
    For some reason,
3Gs, even though 'ALL DAY' is not set, every entry is ALL DAY and everyday.
    What a Mess.
Update 3Gs beyond 3.1.3 to latest update not made for it, iCal takes a hit?
    Go to iTunes
re-sync does nothing to rectify it,
After all events are re-edited at MacPro, no difference on iPhone after sync from MacPro.
No event is set to AllDay, yet they are on iPnone iCal as if by default.
    Last attempt from iTunes-
Use Advance/Replace Calendars with info from this computer.
Nice Try, but no connection correction follows to iPhone.
Yahoo calendar always worked since 01.
    Birthdays never missed.
No idea iCal events are missing. Nice email, letting you know after.
Always thought it odd no holidays included.
If you physically never go to MobileMe.
MobileMe wants to update to new iCal version.
No hint of iCal update doing sync otherwise.
Read warnings before update. Instructions are not clear.
May loose it all first, then fix it.

  • Can i share the ical and the agenda in two apple ids?

I would like to share the ical and the agenda between two differetn apple id's, is it possible to do it?

It took me a few minutes to figure it out, but I got it.  I had to do what SGIII suggested and plot row as series:
and then it let me move the columns around like you suggested.  It wouldn't let me move them in the other view.   Once that was reordered, I could change it back to plot column as series and it would stay switched.
Had that not worked, I figured once you made your first suggestion, I could cut the first column of data into an empty one, cut the second column into the first column, and re-cut the first set of data back into the second column.  Either way did the trick. Thanks a bunch you guys!

  • HT204053 Transfer my iCal Calender data to my primary iCloud account

Transfer my iCal Calender data to my primary iCloud account

    Welcome to the Apple community.
It's not entirely clear from your question, what it is you are asking. I am assuming therefore that you are wishing to transfer data from one account to another within iCal. If this is the case this can be done as set out below.
Create a new empty calendar from the iCal file menu, select which account you want to create it in.
If you have only a few appointments you can move them individually by editing them and changing the calendar in the edit options.
Alternatively you can copy all the appointments in one calendar to another and delete the original.
To copy a calendar ctrl-click on it from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button (top left corner of iCal) and choose export (export it to your desktop for ease)
Double click the exported file and choose the new empty calendar to import them into.
Ctrl-click on the original calendar from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button and choose delete.

  • How can I share my ical work calendar with my coworkers that are using google calendar?

How can I share my ical work calendar with my coworkers that are using google calendar?

You can only do this by syncing your calendar to an external server - MobileMe is designed for this but if you don't already have a MobileMe account you can't start one now.
If you do have a MobileMe account the method is described here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/sharedcalendar.html#publicshare
If you don't, you could sync to Google Calendar (Google accounts are free) or wait for iCloud which should be out in a couple of months and will probably provide this sort of facility.
You might like to consider BusyCal which is like iCal Pro - similar to iCal but with extra facilities. It can sync calendars on a Lan and also between accounts on the same machine (you have to have fast user switching enabled).
There is a free trial available on their website: it's slightly cheaper from the Mac App Store. (I have no connection with this company).

  • HT2513 Can I share an iCal calendar with someone who uses Google Calendar?

That's basically the question.  I use iCal and I want to share one of my calendars with someone who uses Google Calendar and doesn't have any Apple products.  Is this possible?
    Thanks,

I didn't explain correctly. Right now I share (subscribe) a calendar on Mobile Me , in addition to my own personal calendar. That shared calendar is staying on Mobile Me and I need to be able to access it once I move my personal calendar to iCloud. That is, if I use iCloud can I share calendars that are not on iCloud, but are on MobileMe?
You can't do this: when you migrate your MobileMe account to iCloud the calendars will be transferred there and no longer available on MobileMe.
You can share calendars privately or publicly from iCloud: private calendars can only be viewed by nominated iCloud members; public calendars can be viewed by anybody in a CalDAV client such as iCal or Google Calendar (though they are non-editable).
