HT2534 Can't open a Mac App Store account without credit card (which I don't have), what to do?

I tried opening a new account in the App Store since I got this new 5s and apparently can't open an account without credit card
What to do? Need help immediately

You'll need to open an account in the iTunes Store via the instructions in the article from which you came, getting a free iOS app. You then should be able to get free apps from the Mac App Store. Note that the instructions apply only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID without providing a payment method.
Regards.

If None is not available - On your computer launch iTunes and click "iTunes Store" in the left navigation pane. Click the "down arrow" next to your name at the top right side of the page and click "Account." Enter your username and password and click "View Account" to log into your account information. Next to your Payment Type, click "Edit." Select the "None" button and click "Done." Confirm that your card has been removed by returning to the Apple account information screen. Under Payment Type, it should say that there is no credit card on file.

You have an Apple ID already, so unfortunately the instructions in this link will not work for you as it states that these instructions are for those users who have not yet created an Apple ID as you may easily read.
If you have not created an Apple ID yet, this article will assist you in doing so on your computer in iTunes or on an iOS device.
If you wish to create another Apple ID for use with free content, my experience with experimenting with the instructions in this Knowledge Base article have always resulted in a None option in literally dozens of different country's iTunes/Mac App stores
Those users with an existing Apple ID are redirected by this article to a different Apple Knowledge Base article which unfortunately will likely not assist you in your goal of downloading Apple content without supplying a bank card or an alternative payment method, such as an iTunes/Mac App Store gift card.
If you have registered your product or used any Apple services, you should follow this article to use an existing Apple ID with the iTunes Store or Mac App Store.
    That paragraph, by way of the hyperlink, then directs users with an existing Apple ID to this article;
Using an existing Apple ID with the iTunes Store and Mac App Store
Following the instructions in this linked article will likely not offer you the None option.

  • App Store account without credit card

I'm from Malaysia and I already had an Apple ID, but I got not idea making it works with AppStore, it keep asking me for a credit card even if i'm just getting a free app.
this link http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534 doesn't solve my problem, since it is creating a new account instead of making the existing one works.
Anyone know how to resolve this issue?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Unfortunately, the information at that link doesn't always work. Try using a credit or debit card.
You will be prompted to enter your AppleID *whether it's a paid or free app.*
Launch the app store. On the right click Account. Enter your AppleID then click: Edit for Payment Information.
Make sure the Security code for your credit card is available.
    Now try downloading an app.
If you still have problems, email MAS Customer Service here.

    Help...
I can not open the mac app store in any way from my mac book pro
    please help

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Follow these instructions and open an iTunes account. Then use that same account to get free apps from the Mac App Store.

  • App store store account without credit card?

I bought iphone and i can't register my apple id on the app store because i need to enter credit card information but i don't have credit card. Is the phone useless for me and should i return it?

What country are you located in? What type of credit/debit card are you attempting to use?
In countries where the iTunes Store only sells apps, the accepted payment methods are Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Other payment types such as gift cards, store credit, monthly allowances, ClickandBuy, and PayPal are not accepted. Depending on your App Store country, prices may be listed in your local currency, US Dollars, or Euros.    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5552

  • Creating free store accounts without credit card

ok this is my issue, i had an irish itunes store account which i was still able to use up this recently because my old credit card was still valid, but now i'm out in australia i have no need for that card but still need to be able to go between my irish account and oz one to be able to update my app's from home. i have also noticed the sky sports football app i had is now gone and can only be re downloaded with an account from accross the pond. i know there was a way to trick the store few years back with getting an account without putting a card on the policy but because i have my visa on for australia is there any way to get it to flick between the two without the trouble of having a card for the ire/uk store>?

It works for me as described (in the US store). Are you following the steps exactly as listed, and using a unique email address (i.e. one not already used for an Apple ID)?
If all else fails, you can enter in a credit card and then, once the account is set up, go back in and remove the credit card info.

  • ITunes store account without credit card?

    Hi.
I recently bought my 2 sons iPod Touch 4 for their birthdays.  However, they are way too young to have credit cards.
I'd like to also give them iTunes Store Cards - the kind you buy in many different stores - but I'm not sure how that's
going to work.  I know they'll have to create an Apple i.d. with email address but how will they be able to redeem
the store cards without linking a credit card to their accounts?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Unable to create an iTunes Store account without credit card in Windows

    Latest iTunes.
    According to this: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204034
    It should work.
I cannot write to any field; I cannot fill in name, email, password, etc. All fields are grayed out. Strange.

    Have you tried re-installing iTunes?

Did you create a NEW account using the instructions in Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card using an email address you had not previously used with Apple?
    You have to.
Maybe that option is not available in your country. It works in the USA
