- Add a credit card or other payment method like redeeming an iTunes gift card.
- Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

You're ignoring context. On the old Apple Discussion Groups I never posted replies like that, instead giving people relatively detailed answers. The new Apple Support Communities made things worse by introducing certain inefficiencies. Then came Lion. The flood of messages that came with Lion required a painful choice for any of the people who had been helping here: (1) Give quality responses to a few questions and ignore the rest. (2) When applicable, give a brief answer such as the one that you found objectionable. (3) Give up all the other normal activities of life and spend full time trying to answer questions here.
People who needed help with Lion problems seemed to have trouble discovering existing message threads that described how to solve their problems. I never posted the suggestion of "Check the 'More like this' area" without verifying that the help that the poster needed could be found there. Even doing that, what I posted saved me time that I could use to help someone else.
The people helping here are all volunteers. None of them is being paid for the time they spend here. They all have a life outside of Apple Support Communities. It's arrogant of you to demand that people helping here spend more time than they already do. -
How do I get rid of the error message "There was an error connecting to the server “Office AirPort Extreme” ? This message shows up 3 times when I boot my iMac.
I do have a USB hard drive hooked up to the Airport. I've never created an AppleScript for it. Should I disconnect the USB drive and see if I still get the error message?

I have a hard time understanding why I can't contact support about THEIR problem. I plugged my iPhone into my pc. iTunes came up. It said there was an update available for the phone. I accepted that. Clicked on the "download only" because I didn't have the time to install it at that point. It downloaded but didn't stop. It continued to the 'backing up your iPhone' segment then froze. I waited at least an hour with no change. Finally I unplugged my phone..iTunes wasn't responding.I rebooted my pc then tried the same thing again. Same outcome even though I let it "Back Up" for 7-8 hrs while I slept. Same Story............... iTunes 10.4.0.80 is the software I'm using. When my phone is 'plugged' in what I see on it's face is "Sync in Progress".....for hours!

Firefox no longer loads home page or deletes cookies. I have repeatedly checked both settings and they are correct. It always goes to the last page I was on when I closed the browser .

I was sycing my ipod with my computer to get a new album and itunes prompted me saying that there was a previous account for the ipod or something and if I should carry on and deletle it or cancel the sync. I wanted the album so I clicked carry on and delete the account. When I checked my ipod afterwards all almost all of my music was gone exept for what I had just downloaded. This was thosands of songs that I had carefully picked over the years and now they are all gone. Someone please help me!!!
Get all that music back in itunes and sync again.

Initially I had downloaded Document 2 (Free) application to view my doc, ppt and xls files. I was not able to edit the files so there was an option for upgrade the Document-2 free to paid version. I have upgraded the Document 2 application. But on my iPad now there are to application present Docemnt-2 (Free) and Document-2. I am not able to open any existing document using the upgraded version of application. How do I connect all the existing txt,PPT,XLS doccument to the new upgraded Document-2 application and then to edit it on my iPad.
As suggested I had deleted the free application and did a hard restart the iPad. I have again copied the document using iTunes. But I am not able to edit any document using this app. Document 2 (paid version) supports editing features of the txt/ xls /ppt files. Is there any problem while loading the Document 2 app. If I reload then do I need to purchase again?

Whilst synching to my PC it said there was a software update for the iPhone.
It is now stuck with a message saying connect to iTunes. I've tried resetting it in various ways but it still comes back to Connect to iTunes, but it won't.

I have a new computer with Windows 7 professional, Office 2007, Adobe XI. I have just created a word document and tried save it as a PDF but the PDF option doesn't appear in the drop down menu. Any ideas please? Thank you.
What is "Adobe XI" - Reader, or Acrobat?
But either way, 'Save as Adobe PDF' is a Word function, independent of what Adobe software you have installed. -
I downloaded Firefox 4 and installed it. When I tried to launch it, a message came up saying that Firefox will not work with this version of Mac OSX. Now I have no Firefox. How can I get Firefox 3.6 back on my Mac? How can I make Firefox 4.0 work? Please advise.

Also since Mozilla's website says, "Firefox 3.6.x will be maintained with security and stability updates for a short amount of time. All users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to Firefox 4" does that mean if I go back to 3.6 there will be security and stability issues after a "short amount of time"?

Well yes, of course your phone will have been locked in Japan because the Japanese phone companies do not offer unlocking to anyone, so you have effectively jailbroken your phone and can't get any help here.

I tried to apply for the barclays credit account but the site messed up and I had to come out of it. I am now in the order page with my ipad awaiting payment.
On the left hand side is my order number, the view/ edit order details link, print invoice link etc but no option to make any payment. If anyone could help I would be really gratefulWe are users, not Barclays or Apple, Inc. You aborted (not gently exited) a credit application. That process needs to be completed successfully or completely rolled back.

Can not back up to I cloud because of a "lack of storage" I have deleted all apps and turned photo stream off and deleted all photos just trying to back up contacts to transfer to a new iphone 5c. The device says there is 5 GB available but still wont back up to icloud

Not exactly accurate, Peter. iCloud will backup the Camera Roll separately from Photostream, so too many pictures in the Camera Roll on the iPhone can prevent iCloud from completing a backup. So, technically, the capacity of the iPhone and the iCloud are related. -

then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.

If not then you will need to enter your credit card details - you should be able to remove them after entering them.
If you are trying to gift content then you will need to have a credit card on your account, you can't use your balance for gifting.
