If None is not available - On your computer launch iTunes and click "iTunes Store" in the left navigation pane. I'm getting prompted to update adobe acrobat 9.5.5 which I have deleted. I am currently using 10.1.13. It is still asking me to update 9.5.5 (can't find anything using it) I have tried to cancel the update prompts for 9.5.5, but it only recognizes the 10.1.13 version. Suggestions? Am I missing something? It's driving me crazy!

Could you please let me know what version of OS are you using.
Also, go to Control Panel/System Preferences in Windows/MAC and check whether Acrobat 9 is shown under installed programs list.
You might also try running Acrobat cleaner tool to remove all traces of previous versions of Acrobat:

Then, install Acrobat X again from the link mentioned below:
Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X

How did you create the account ? Unless you followed, exactly, the instructions on the HT2534 page that you posted from when creating an account then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.

<Re-Titled By Host>If you dont have any other devices which you use your Apple-ID with (like an iPad, iPod, Mac etc) this will solve your issue (I've been there too):
If you have iOS 6:
1) Sign out from Settings > iTunes & App Store by taping the email adress at the top and choose Sign out.
2) Sign out from Settings > iCloud by taping the red "Delete account" button on the bottom of the page (will not delete you account only remove it from your iPhone i.e sign you out).
3) Sign back in again with your new email adress.
If you have iOS 7:
1) Sign out from Settings > iTunes & App Store.
2) Change your email adress back to the old email adress on your Apple-ID
3) Sign out from Settings > iCloud by taping the red "Delete account" button on the bottom of the page (will not delete you account only remove it from your iPhone i.e sign you out).
4) Change your email for you Apple ID back to the new email adress you want to have.
5) Sign back in from Settings > iCloud.
If you're promted for password to your old Apple ID when you update apps you need to follow the steps above and then restart your iPhone.

If you mean the hexidecimal equivalent of the alphanumeric password, then you can find this via the AirPort Utility, as follows:
AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort > Manual Setup
On the AirPort Utility's menubar select Base Station > Equivalent Network Password
