Did you create a NEW account using the instructions in Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card using an email address you had not previously used with Apple?
You have to.
Maybe that option is not available in your country. It works in the USA

To create an Apple ID without a credit or debit card, there is a specific series of steps that have to be processed in order to allow the payment to be set as none on creation of the account.

If the specific steps have not been processed, a credit or debit card will be required to complete the setup of the account.
However, it can be removed and payment method changed to none as long as there is not an outstanding balance. At this point an iTunes gift card can be used as form of payment.

You need to follow, exactly, the instructions on the HT2534 page that you posted from when creating an account - I've just tried it on my iPhone and those instructions still work.

Can't create new Apple ID without credit card!!!!

I've seen older posts where it was possible to create an Apple ID without a credit card. I would like to set up the kids with Apple IDl's so they can download free games and not have them sync on my apple products because they are using my Apple ID ( even though I have unchecked all the sync options, they still seem to show up on my ipad/iphone, but that's another story).
I have tried today, without any luck. I don't want to have to attach a credit card to a kids account..makes no sense..any ideas?

I can't see the option NONE when I try to review my apple id on iTunes store

Tried tto review my apple id on itunes store and i cant see the billing option NONE in there so i cant dl free apps...

Did you follow the instructions on that page that I linked to ? I've just tried it and it worked ok for me, I got the 'none' option and have been able to download a free app with it.
e.g. on my computer's iTunes I signed out of my existing account, found a free app in the store and clicked on its free 'price' :
Clicked on 'create Apple id' on the popup :
Agreed to the terms, filled in my details, and got 'none' as a payment option :
After clicking on the verification email I was then able to download a free app. Are they the steps that you used to create the account ?

My college kids charge on my credit card- how can I see who is charging what?Unlike all other vendors, you can't get info from apple 800 number on the charge

how can I find out what my college kids are buying on itunes. It is charged to my credit card number but the 800 number given to the credit card company takes me to the web site. I can only see purchases with my own account. Short of cutting off apple as a vendor is there a way to see this? Is there a way to look up purchases by the order number?

Are these college kids your kids, or have you allowed details of your credit card to be more freely available? I can't believe the latter ... but who knows.
Anyhow; surely the purchases you see are what has been charged to your account. Assuming you know which of these are yours, the balance has to be that made by the 'College kids'.
Or is there more to this than meets the eye?

Did you follow the instructions on the page that you posted from when you created the account ? If not the you won't get the 'none' option on it, you will need to create a new account.
To create a new account without giving credit card details, if you are currently logged into an account then log out of it. Then find a free app in the store and click on its free 'price' :
And then click on 'create Apple id' on the popup that you get :

I Just created a new apple id, but i'm not able to continue, as its asking me to put a credit card, as i've no credit card, can't i create a new apple id, and install free application??? On the forum they said click on none, on the page where option for credit card, but its not available here.... How do i do now???

@wjostenall the first steps is the same and i've done it exactly the same, but on link you send me, the step 11, when it says to put the credit card, there is no option to put "none"here. i Thought it was my pc, i even change my pc, i went to another pc, install itunes, and create a new id, it just again come to put the credit card, no option to bypass it...
... Tht my issue..that link i've already reviewed it...Tell me new solution please...
