HT2534 My credit card details won't work
I am trying to add my credit card details to my itunes/app store account and it says they have been declined. I have double checked that they are correct. There is currently no money in my bank but i don't see why this should matter as I am not actually trying to buy anything. I only want the free facebook and cosmo apps
still awaiting reply - thought someone on here might have an answer in the mean time

I am not prepared to give my credit card details for a free app. These days I don't trust anyone with my bank details if I am not making a purchase & the app is free.
Is it an account that hasn't been used in the store before, and if so how did you create it ? Unless the instructions on this page are followed when creating an account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store (you should be able to remove credit card details after entering them).
If you are being prompted to review your account then you could see if this post by mountaingoatgirl lets you do so without needing to enter credit card details : https://discussions.apple.com/message/24303054
If not then you will either need to enter credit card details or create a new account (and use the instructions on that HT2534 page when creating it). -
HT2534 there is no way to use app store without credit card details ?!
I tried to register a new apple id for my friend and there is no way to use it for app store without entering credit card details ?
He has a kid and as you can imagine - how to give a kid account with credit card in it ?!The instructions on the page that you posted from work if you are creating a new account (the instructions won't work with existing accounts) - I've just tried it and I got the 'none' option.
i.e. on my computer's iTunes I logged out of my existing account and found a free app in the store and clicked on its free 'price' :
I then clicked on 'create Apple id' on the popup :
Agreed to the terms, filled in my details, and got 'none' as a payments option : -

While creating an account from my iPad there is no option for selecting none in the payment options. It states I have to give my credit card details. What's the procedure to open a free account?
It's in the article. You must first sign-out your current account, then go to App store to purchase a Free App. It will ask you to either Sign in or create a new AppleID. That's when you start creating a new AppleaID and NONE will be available as a payment option.

There are instructions on this page for how to create an account without giving a credit card number : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 - i.e. select a free app an create an account when 'buying' it (this only works for new accounts, not for updating an existing account)

Does anyone know how to delete credit card details from an Apple account?
Hi not sure if this is posted in the right place but i'll give it a go anyway.
Would anyone know how to delete credit card details from an Apple account?
Someone posted selecting 'none' in the payment section would work but i logged into my account online on a computer there aren't any options at all to do this.
I tried hitting edit but there isn't a delete button.
If anyone knows any help would be most appreciated!
