I was following article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 -- it instructs me to select 'none' for payment type.
I (my teen) do not have a credit card. I want to download free apps and use gift cards to purchase music.
Any suggestions as to how to set up account without credit card?

Did you follow, exactly, the instructions on the HT2534 page when creating the account ? I've just tried it on my Mac's iTunes and the instructions still work e.g. find a free app in the store, click on its free 'price' button, and on the popup click on 'create apple id' - when you get to the payment details screen you should see the 'none' option.

Those instructions do still work, I used them yesterday in response to another thread and was able to download a free app with it. Are you currently in the country where that is account is based ? You need to be in a country to be able to use its store.

I am trying to create an itune account on my iphone 5 I do not want to add a credit card. I have read several posts that say select the none option I do not have that. Please let me know how to set up itune account without a credit card just using it for free apps.

You are following the instructions on the page that you posted from exactly, and you are trying to create a new account and not update an existing account i.e. you are selecting a free app in the store and clicking on 'Create Apple ID' when 'buying' it ?

YEs, files downloaded before Monday are fine, coul add them ti library.
I'Ve now changed the FTP client, from Transmit to Cyberduck, and can now add new files to the library. All files transfered via Transmit however remain unacceptable to iTunes. It is a pity, as Transmit is much faster and user-friendly.
HAve written to Transmit for their input.

I haven't gotten anywhere, unfortunately.
Just to confirm we're having the same problem: I'm using a 4th generation iPod touch and I'm using the Nike+ iPod app to link to the Nike+ Sensor that goes in the insert in the shoe.
After I finish a workout, I click "Send to Nike+" which switches to Safari and loads nikeplus.com. I log in and... it doesn't seem to do anything else... Nothing shows up on nikeplus.com.
Has this pretty much been your experience as well?

Did you follow the instructions on that page exactly when you created the account ? They worked for me yesterday on my computer's iTunes when I tried them in response to another thread.
e.g. I logged out of my existing account and found a free app in the store and clicked on its free 'price'

I've been working on this all day!!! I've tried everything I know of and can't get it to load either. Sounds like lots of people are having problems. Here is what I have so far...I have uninstalled EVERYTHING on my pc from apple and reinstalled itunes to no avail. I have tried all sorts of things I've read as fixes online. NOTHING has worked. Yes, I followed the instructions to the letter. But it asks for credit information anyway and 'none' is supposed to be an option when setting up an account 'with no credit card'.
I have two new iphones, the first one set up as expected, where 'none' was an option. Now that I'm attempting to set up the second with different information, there is no 'none', only Mastercard,Visa, AmerX, Discover and Paypal.
My wife is ready to throw hers out the window, help me stop her...

uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

See if BNN has an app in the app store or do without.
Adobe does not make a flash player for ipod/ipad/iphone and likely never will.
You can do a forum search and find coutless posts on this.
