Note, however, that iTunes has never been supported on the 64-bit version of Windows XP, so you're on your own to attempt to get it working.

Do you have reliable backup you can restore from, as an erase and re-install may be required?
Before you got down that route, it's possible that it might get fixed if you try again. Not sure about that particular error, but I have had errors in the past that Disk Utility wouldn't fix on the first attempt but then subsequently did.
It's also possible that the (around $99, I think) Disk Warrior might resolve it - but not guaranteed.
However, I just found this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3862376?start=15&tstart=0 have a look at Nirvi's post at the end - there may be hope (I've not tried this, although it seems to have helped a few, although not everybody - so at your own risk and I wouldn't try it if I didn't have backup). -
I am trying to activate iMessage. I receive a message that says "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." I connection is strong. I can browse the internet but cannot connect to iMessages. I don't understand. Any ideas.
Turn iMessage off and then on again, wait a few minutes.
Turn Airplane mode on and then off again, turn iMessage off and then on again, wait a few minutes.
Make sure your iPad is on Wi-Fi, reboot your iPad, turn iMessage off and then on again, wait a few minutes.
Wait and try again later -- Apple's servers can get overwhelmed or experience outages just like anyone else's. -
i started downloading ios 6 with iTunes with latest version of 10.7 for my iphone 4s running ios 5.1.1. And at the end of the download , some kind of error comes with a pop up box and a RED cross mark in it saying some error occurred and asking to disconnect and reconnect again and to check the internet is active? and then nothing happens and when i disconnect and reconnect again, the same error comes and the same thing happens. what should i do now to install ios 6?
Are you running any Firewalls or Anti-Virus software? If so, disable all of that stuff & try again.

I have a Macbook and I left it unplugged. It started up slowly when I plugged it in again, but it seemed fine. Once it started charging I shut it down so it would be easier, but now it will not go past the grey screen with the apple. What do I do?
I have Snow leopard on my computer, and I tried to do a hard restart as an article suggested, but it did not work. I also tried cleaning out the PRAM.
The only things I did last night:
-cleaned the history of Firefox out, including cookies
-let it unplugged all night
-plugged it back in the morning, it took a long time to figure itself out, but eventually the time was correct and I got on the internet for a bit
-shutdown the computer since I was going out and thought it would help the computer charge
-came back, tried to turn it on, and found that it would not go past the grey screen the apple on it and the spinning wheel even though I left it for 20 minutes or more
-tried turning it off and on to no availBefore doing a reinstall, which may not be needed at this point,
Try using Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, while booted up on your install disk.
You could have some directory corruption. Let us know what errors Disk Repair reports and if DU was able to repair them. This could just be a start in repairs and you may need a better utility to finish the job.
Then Repair Permissions.
No need to report any Permissions errors........we all get them.

You can't log into any site and see your account's balance. You can log into your account on your iPad via Settings > iTunes & App Store - on my iOS devices my balance shows at the bottom of, for example, the Featured tab in the App Store app under my account id (or you can view your account via Settings > iTunes & App Stores and it should show on the screen that you are taken to). You may not see anything if your account's balance is zero.
Not sure what you mean by relationship iTunes has to products. You can buy music, films, TV shows, audiobooks via the iTunes app on your iPad, and apps via the App Store app - what you buy will be tied to your iTunes account. -
I currently am having a problum with updating my Ipod. I waited until I saw the apple and the loading sign. Once it started to turn on it suddenly stoped and my screen suddenly showed a plug and an arrow pointed tword a music note that said Itunes underneath it. I tried charging it. I tried pluging it into my computer and going on Itunes. Nothing is working.
Does the iPod appear under devices in iTunes? If so restore the iPod via iTunes

I try to install LR CC in Creativ Cloud (10 times) on Mac and as propose I logout from iCloud and login again. The Start Icon shows for short time an that is all.....is a deinstallation from the old LR necessary?? Or what is to do. Daniel Berne

you can try this: boot your MacBook Pro into Recovery mode by holding down a Command key and the R key as it starts up. Once the OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Is it able to get to the login screen now? -
Safari problem: when I switch back into safari from another application, the menu bar comes up but no tabs or windows. What's going on? Just started yesterday. I have found a workaround: when I Command Tab back to safari, I hit command T to open a new tab and Command W to close it, and my other tabs are visible.
I have tried shutting down, closing tabs, with no success. What's going on and how can I fix it?

PS: I'm not sure of the actual OS level, but I have not allowed it to upgrade to Maverick yet; concerned about it because of a few things I've read...A Safari extension or third party plugin may be causing the menu bar issue.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
As for which OS X is installed.
Click the Apple () menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac.
The version is noted there.

It's your choice whether or not to upgrade to Mavericks. If you decide to do this, make sure your Mac meets the requirements noted here. -
Photos won't import images from my Canon camera. When connected, program sees the images, tells me it will import the new ones, then freezes once import starts, not allowing any other operation to happen. MacbookPro 15" 2012, OSX Yosemite 10.10.3. Any suggestions?
Solution discovered. Faulty connector cable. Tried a different one and it worked.
