Ive read HT2534 and it's not helping me whatsoever. I've googled on how to make an Apple ID without the credit card part but I've found nothing that can help.

Is it a new account, or one that hasn't been used in the store before ? If it is then you will need to enter credit card details before you can use the account to download any item from the store - only if an account is created by following the instructions on the HT2534 page will you not have to enter credit card details before the account can be used.

All apps (and other content from the store) are tied to the account that downloaded them, whether or not they are free. To do in-app purchases in that app you will either need to log in with the account that downloaded it, or delete it (which will delete its content) and download it with your currently logged in account if you want to do IAPs on that account.

To be able to use the US store you will need to be in the US and have a US billing address on your account. If you didn't setp your iTunes account, from the beginning, without a credit card, you'll have to either add a credit card to your account or redeem an iTunes gift card, regardless of whether the app is free or not.

Sorry, but there's no way I know of to restrict downloading to free apps only. You can turn off purchasing of apps completely, but if purchasing is allowed, it's open other than by age range. You can of course remove any purchase method, but I don't believe that blocks the purchase; you just end up owing money.

Given the size of the app, deggie's suggestion is the best way to do it for numerous reasons... If you sync your iPad on a regular basis, it's already on the computer. Go to Apps and click the check for updates thing in the bottom right. Download the latest update, then sync your phone (assuming both use the same Apple ID and you sync them both to the same computer. If you sync them to different machines, you'll need to physically copy the app. If they are activated with different Apple IDs, you're hosed. You can use a purchase app on any iDevice you own provided it's registered with the same Apple ID.

After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error while downloading apps. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

That's why some developers offer a free "light" version after which you then either buy a full version or add features via an in-app purchase. But if the developer doesn't offer such a limited version, then there is no way to try an app before paying for it, and no refunds unless the app is defective or falsely advertised.

Yes.
On their iOS devices, under Settings>iTunes & App Store, they should use your Apple ID. When they log into iCloud, iMessage and Facetime, they should use their personal Apple IDs.

iOS is the operating system for iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad. Your Mac runs on OS X. You have installed OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite.
I have the most recent version of the Kindle app for Mac from the Mac App Store (MAS) v. 1.10.6 and it works fine. Look again in the MAS for the Kindle app, does it say Get or Open on the button?
Are you confusing Kindle for Mac with Kindle for iOS. The iOS version won't run on your Mac.
