I cant get my iphone 5 to be compatible with my mac book pro. When I plug the iphone 5 in it tells me that i need a newer version of itunes 10.7 and I currently have 10.6. I checked for updates in my itunes and it says i dont have any. So i have gone to the itunes website to try and redownload itunes which i believe it 11.7. When I try and download that version it tells me the software on my computer doesn't suppor that version. I try to update my software and it says there is not software updates available right now. Is there anyway I can get my iphone 5 to synce to my itunes?

In order to get those to work you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:

but nobody knows for how long it will be available.
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard, preferably the full 10.6.8 combo updater.

Hi Guys
I have been reading loads of forums on trackpads not working due to updates but I only have 10.7.5.
My track pad was working fine all day then when I get home to open computer again it starts playing up randomly selecting folders and wont click.
I restarted my computer checked for udates now I cant click and drag but the cursor and tapping and two three fingers is fine. Any suggestions.
The pad can click all the way to the bottom and if I want to use soming in the top bar I can click on it but nowhere else
Please help

Blackberry Curve 8530 track pad only works on the main screen

I have a blackberry curve 8530 and the track pad will only work on the main screen. I have removed the battery and let it sit for 2 minutes before re-installing it again, the track pad started working but only for about 30 seconds and it back to the same thing.
Any suggestion?

I too was having some issue with my trackpad...atfirst it was not a permanent issue(at times trackpad was working and at times not), but later the trackpad tollay stopped working...i got it replaced by the BB service center...
So, i wud suggest u to visit a BB service center and get it clarified...do take backup of ur BB before going to a service center coz they will reinstall ur OS too after replacing the trackpad...

Magic track pad not working

Hi,
My Apple Magic Track Pad has suddenly become unresponsive. It pairs ok with my iMac and I have tried deleting and re-pairing it which works fine. The only thing that works is the click function when you press on it. It's as if it has stopped sensing my fingers, my wife has also tried so its not just me. I'm not sure but it happened around the time I updated to 10.8.2. Has anyone else had problems with a trackpad since the update?
Any ideas as I hate using a mouse?

I have an iMac with software version OS X 10.8.2
I just replaced my original Apple Magic Track Pad with a new one because the older Track Pad had a mechanical problem. I when I installed the new one, a software patch downloaded but it won't install. The Track Pad works fine, but the patch will not install.
The file packet that comes up is: Magic TrackpadMultiTouch Upadate 1.0pkg
When I try to install it there error message I get is: Alert This update does not support Mac OS X version 10.7
Keep in mind, I have OS X version 10.8.2

Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

You could attempt an SMC reset afterwards. Likely you need to bring your machine in for service.

I am trying to get my Xbox 360 controller to work on my Mac. I have installed the suggested driver and the program ControllerMate. The Mac sees the controller because it shows up and responds. The program ControllerMate also sees the controller and responds appropriately, but the game (Minecraft) doesn't. HAs anyone else cracked this nut or have advice?

You may have done something similar already, but do it precisely as described. You should disconnect ALL peripheral devices, except for Apple keyboard and mouse.
Also, when you plug it back in, if the iMac is currently plugged into an old (or overcrowded) power strip (surge suppressor), try connecting it directly to a wall outlet by itself.
