Hello,i just bought iPhone5,i restored from back up..everything is fine BUT my 92 songs does not appear on my ip5.. i saw a couple tatourlis that didnt help.. Wanted to get some answers if anybody would be so kind!!!
You need to return it to the seller and get your money back. You cannot reset or use the device with another AppleID installed unless you know the password for that ID.
If the device has been jailbroken, no one on here can give you any further help...the Terms of Use prohibit us from doing so.

I am a new apple user...sorry it took so long. I did a recovery from my time machine but I can not find any of the filesI was saving on my desktop. Are they gone for good or is there some way I can get them back? I am desperate...should I save my regular used files somewhere else other than my desktop?
Can I get the old desktop files back????When you open TM you should see all of the desktop items right away. If they are not there, go back a day before you made your last retrieval. (Look for the dates on the time line on the right hand side of the display)

Restoring from Back Up, OS X point updates not restoring....
Im trying to figure out why everytime I restore a backup say running 10.6.6 and I put my initial OS X install disc (10.6) to restore from Time Machine it does not revert to 10.6.6 but rather 10.6 and I have to go an redownload the 10.6.6 combo updater.
The reason I ask, what I recall from the original release of Time Machine/Leopard stated it keeps back ups of your software updates, operating system, etc.
Am I doing something incorrect with my back up/restoration or is it normal?

If so, that will restore whatever version of OSX is on your backups. See #14 in [Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/FAQ.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).
It sounds like you're erasing your internal HD, installing OSX from the disc, then using +Setup Assistant+ when your Mac restarts (per #19 in the FAQ.) If so, yes, that's exactly what's happening.
May I ask, why are you doing so many restores? -

i bought my iphone 4 about a year ago and just decided to upgrade it to ios5 just recently. My phone restored to to its factory settings and when I clicked continue restore from back up it is now asking a backup password which i dont remember setting up one. I am currently using a windows vista PC. How can I retrieve the password or restore all my old data into the new OS. I have been reading blogs about the same situation and is it true that it is one of apple's bugs?
It is NOT a bug. You provided a password. If you can't remember it, you can't restore your phone from backup. Very simple.

You can't get the phone working without the correct password, because the previous owner activated Find My iPhone and Activation Lock. In order to unlock the phone you would have to ocntact the previos owner of the phone. Unfortunately, this is the only way to get it working again.

I just finished another "experiment".
I transcode the whole clip 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 to another ext Western Digital HDD and got the Error -50 too. Problem is this ext Western Digital HDD is Daisy chained to the LaCIe.
So, I tried transcoding to another ext Western Digital HDD connected to my router. And this time NO PROBLEM.
So, I should readjust the FW800 connectors.
What do you mean by the controller of the Firewire ?

Put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Reset Password. After resetting the password use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for startup and restart. -
I just bought a new Mac and I want to transfer some data (not all) from my old Mac. Basically, I want to move my itunes library, iphoto library, and a few documents. I have not even turned on my new Mac yet. Is the best way by an external hard drive?
If both have Firewire ports then you can accomplish your goal by using Target Disk Mode. If this is not possible then you can do using an external drive or if you have a local network connect both to your network and use filesharing between the two computers.

I bought a iPhone 6 yesterday and I restored my iPhone 6 from my iTunes back up. After my phone restored from back up. When I plug my iPhone 6 it's still saying my iPhone 6 is new and still giving me the restore from a back up or set as a new iPhone option. But I already have it restored. How come it's not giving me any option to cancel.
Click set up as a new iPhone. It will associate the device with your library without clearing the content that you have already loaded onto it.

I upgraded fro iphone4 to iphone5. i restored from backup in iCloud, and almost everything is there perfectly. there was one app on the phone, which i clicked on to finish the install, but it then disappeared. in my iTunes, under library/apps, this app still shows there. how do i reinstall this app. it was a paid app, and i searched the app store, and apparently it is no longer there.
any help would be greatly appreciated.It appears to be fixed, he had multiple versions of iTunes installed (since he put his iTunes in a different folder) the iTunes icon launched the old iTunes, even though the new was installed. it's working now.
