When restoreing There is an n/a after capacity and serial number etc. After restore it restarts and recognizes device bu has iphone in large print in the window wher Capacity and serial number were. Any help would be appreciated.

I tried to do the same, but couldn't find ios 6. I even tried the APPstore, to download the last IOS6 version.
The most problem is the running out of the battery.
I've checked each app who is "eating" the most power.
The battery stoped runaway, when I closed the weather service....
So for now, I will use regular internet service, and probbaly will do to more app.
Until, finaly, I will find my self with all the applications closed....:-)
That will be the sign, to replace my phone to anderoid....:-)

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

With Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to 'Lock Rotation' have you then moved the switch on the right-hand side of the iPad above the volume control 'off' ?
Or with the switch set to control 'notification mute' you should be able to unlock rotation via the far left of the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. I have the same problem but the solution Wendyz99 did has not been successful for me. Part of the itunes store loads on the right side where the tabs for Quick Links and Top Charts are but the center section of the page is white. Also if I click on a song that is in the top chart area it will take me to the page but I'm not able to purchase the song or preview the song.
I feel I have tried all the solutions I can find on line and even had conversations with apple tech with no help.

I am having a similar issues with you.
In my case, it is an ipod touch with beta ios7 with legit UDID.
It has been telling me that the activation server might be temporarily down since two weeks ago or even more.
Is the server really down?

I'm not convinced that starting it before it was downloaded has anything to do with it, you should be able to do that. I'd try restarting the computer and if that doesn't help, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History.

I also can't turn off "Find my iPad" on iTunes in order to do a restore.

Try a reset first. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen. It takes about 10 seconds. After the iPad restarts, see if you can get into your settings.
