HT2693 Re-install default font on mac os x

Hello,
I accenditally overwrote the mac os x default font with downloded font which has same file name.
How can I replace with the mac os x default font back?
Thank you.

MACOSX 10.4 (Tiger OS) PowerPC based systems is certified on Oracle Database release 10gR1 (10.1.0.5).
well, the certification tab doesnt talk about Mac OS X v10.5 (Leopard). I don't think it's not certified yet. But if its for learning purpose, you can always give it a try. :)

  • Openbox Install default font strange

I have installed OpenBox and using Slim as the session manager..This is an independent install and I do not have GNOME/KDE alongside OpenBox.
    I installed X and Nvidia 173...
The X session loaded fine , but the fonts appear to be strange and different from default
For example , when I open Opera Browser ,all the Web pages look different and wordings appear too small.. Also the std OB menu also has these small fonts!
How can I bring the default look?
Has it got anything to do with installing Gtk or Qt themes?

    Thanks Bubblerap....
I think OBox to set up on its own is too tough (at least for me) as I am a non techie and morever I guess I am too lazy to tweak everything...Now I realize the plug and play DE is the best for me..
I have gone back to Classic KDE ..
Thanks for your time and the solution..
    I appreciate it,

  • Restoring Default Fonts without Mac Installation Disk

I am stuck away from home on business and I mistakenly deleted some of my core fonts now some of my programs are not working correctly. Is there anywhere where I could download a file with all the fonts included in OS X 10.5 startup disk? I guess that it is possible to make a trip to the Mac store but the nearest one for me is a four hour bus ride... So ideally this would be avoided via internet if at all possible. (I would have guessed that the Apple page would offer this type of service but all I could find is a listing of the fonts that are "supposed" to be there)
    Any help please?

no, this is not possible. distributing any parts of OS X via internet is a clear violation of leopard ULA. anyone who tries to do that on this forum will be quickly stepped on by the moderators. you need to get the fonts off the leopard dvd when you get it. and be careful what you delete.

  • How to install .pfm Fonts on Mac?

Is there a way to convert the .pfm PC Type 1 font files I have purchased so they can be used on my OSX Mac? I need to use the font in Photoshop CS4 but it's not showing up after copying to HD>Library>Fonts folder. Thanks.

Just to elaborate on my previous post:
Two files are required to use a Type 1 font under Windows. The PFB file contains the actual font outline data. The PFM file contains metric data including kerning.
PFB (Printer Font Binary, also referred to as PostScript Font Binary): File name extension for a PostScript Type 1 font file. It contains font outline data in binary format. The PFB and an associated PFM file are used by ATM (Adobe Type Manager) on a PC.
PFM (Printer Font Metrics, also referred to as PostScript Font Metrics): File name extension for a Printer Font Metric. Includes much of the same information as the AFM file, only in binary format. ATM and Windows use this information for placing characters properly.
As I wrote earlier, if you only have the ".pfm" file and lack the ".pfb" file, you have nothing there to "convert".
Dyed-in-the-wool Mac users will remember that early PostScript Type 1 fonts for the Mac, beside the printer font and the bitmapped screen font. had a third, redundant, useless ".afm" file component that was supposed to be there in case an application ever needed to use it (no such application was ever developed) and that ".afm" file was the Mac equivalent of a Windows ".pfm", the difference is that the latter is required in Windows.  The ".pfm" file contains only kerning, tracking and spacing information.

  • Installed fonts (mac Default font) in my Font Book doesn't show up in photoshop  CC

Hello, I'm in trouble with fonts.
    I'm using mac OS X 10.9.4 mavericks.
I want to use 'HanziPen SC' which is already installed in my Font book but it doesn't show up in photoshop CC.
It has been default font since mavericks, maybe.
And I have same situation in AI as well.
I've already tried to clear cache and reboot photoshop but it didn't work to me.
    Does anyone help me?

    Thank you for your kindness!
    It was solved!
But in my case, the reason why it didn't show up was veeeery stupid...
    I checked out Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC/CT Font Cache/Adobe_Fnt_OSFont.lst
Then, there was 'HanziPen SC' and I found out surprising fact!
    Its Writing script was 'Chinese'!!
So I couldn't find 'HanziPen' even though I typed 'HanziPen'.
It has been shown up in Chinese...
What I did is to over write WritingScript,FamilyNameNative,StyleNameNative,FullNameNative to Japanese.
I don't know why it happened to me at all. but anyway, finally I was able to  see the one in photoshop CC.
Again, Thank you for your kindness. If you didn't suggested about cache files, I might have not found out the answer.
    Thank you!!!!

  • Question: how to install new fonts in Premiere on Mac

Someone, please tell me how to add new fonts in Adobe Premiere!
I use MacBookPro with OS X Lion.
As trying to add fonts reffering to the previous discussion like http://forums.adobe.com/message/2379742 ,
I realized that it was unavailable because I cound not see "Install New Font" in "Window".
Is there a good way to solve this problem?

In Mac OS X, double-clicking on a font file (i.e PostScript, Font Suitcase etc.) should launch the Font Book application, that window will have a Install Font button. You may have to Quit PrP and re-open for font to be available.

  • I'm having problems installing fonts in MAC

I have downloaded a free font.. is a .ttf file.. i double click the file the
i click on INSTALL FONT (instalar tipo de letra) and then this windows appear
but the new font is not there... i have search the font in the folder [User]/library/font
and the new font is there when i double click appears the first windows again asking to install the font.
I have installed many fonts before and i had no problem.. i dont understand why now i cant install any font..
i think could be a problem with some permissions or something like that.
Does anybody knows how i can fix this?

    3lii
Yes, I ran into the same problem.  Mine is a fairly old (3 or 4 years) Mac Book, and I'm guessing that it came this way from the factory.  I don't think I have ever reformatted this hard drive.
And when I opened up Disk Utility, it was not immediately clear how to enable the journaling, as Im used to selecting the pick list, and that was not budging.
But under File there is a Enable Journaling option, and if you select the partition in Disk Utility, that option should become black and selectable.
If you do that, then Journaling will start.
    Hope that helps.

  • Installing downloads to change default font size???

    Hello all,
I am in desperate need of some guidance on the proper way to install a download from the market place. I am blind as a bat and cannot see the default font on any menu. I found "Font Changer" and it said in the description that one would be able to have some control and be able to change font size to be larger and more readable. I found sense analog clock which is big enough for me to read (Thank Goodness) and handcent for texting so I can at least read the texts coming in, although at this point texts come in and I not sure yet why, probably a default setting, but type is to small to read! So let's just say that I am kinda a dummy when it comes to this Droid Pro and making it a user friendly phone. FORMER BLACK BERRY USER!! I am trying desperatley to keep this phone and not end up returning it...out of frustration of my inability to be able to see or read the phones menus, etc.  I guess I am just trying to find a relatively easy way to find, install, and use the ability to make bigger fonts on phone!! I welcome ANY advise or direction!! I just know I NEED HELP!!
Thank you very much, I am really glad there is a forum for us here who are not quite up to speed.
    Sincerely.

Hello ^^ I used to use an app called Go SMS. It was a messaging app that you could customise and stuff. It's easy to change the fonts using that if you want it for just messsages ^^ I used to use ADW Launcher and ADW Launcher X too and I can't remember but I believe you might be able to change font size there? I know you can change the size on the home screen. But since I used the droid 1, it slowed my phone down so I stopped using it all. But I think if your phone has a larger processer it should work find. I think. OTL Good luck!

  • How can i install more korean fonts for mac book pro

    Hello
I recently purchased mac book pro.
Where and how can i install more korean fonts for mac book pro?

Do you really need more?  OS X comes with quite a few already: Gungseo, HeadlineA, Nanum Brush, Nanum Gothic, NanumMyungjo, Nanum Pen, PCMyungjo, PilGi, AppleGothic, AppleMyungjo
If so, just do a google search for korean unicode fonts.

  • Script UI default font on a Mac?

    Hi,
I'd like to know what the default font is on the Mac for ScriptUI
    windows, when targeting the ESTK.
    For Windows it's SegoeUI.
The following script should return the font:
    w = new Window("dialog");
    alert(w.graphics.font);
Could someone with a Mac do me a favour and run that script from the
ESTK, with the ESTK targeted? An indication of ESTK version would be
helpful as well, I guess, if it's changed in the course of the various CS's.
    Many thanks,
    Ariel

Shane, the JS Tool guide does not mention these standard fonts by name; SUI for Dummies mentions 'dialog', 'window', and 'palette'. (I have no idea where Peter Kahrel got those names from.) All three of'em return "Lucida Grande:13" on my Mac (CS4).
None of the others you suggested return anything useful -- it just echoes the same word, which is SUI's way of saying "whatever you want, dude" for a font name it does not recognize:

  • How do I install new fonts with a Mac?I

I am using Fireworks 8 on a Mac and can't figure out how to install new fonts.  I've added the new fonts to the Font Book, and they show up  in other applications such as Adobe Illustrator, but not Fireworks.  Does anybody have any suggestions?  Thanks!

You must restart Fireworks after you add new fonts, as far as I know.
Once you restart it, you should see all new installed fonts!
    Hope this helps?
PS Hint: I think a future version of Fireworks will show fonts almost immediately after they're installed... At least, I hope so!

  • Default Fonts Screwed Up After Installing New Fonts

I installed a bunch of new fonts, and now Arial maps to some other font, and other fonts around the system are changed. Email headers and subject in Thunderbird are nearly unreadable because they show up as some other font. I tried removing the fonts that they default to, and they just default to another one.
I tried changing the default fonts in Thunderbird back and it doesn't work...still shows the wrong fonts.

    Excellent! Good catch.
I downloaded the font to take a look at its structure. Perfect example of yet another clod who didn't change all of the internal names when they modified an existing font to make a new one. In this case, they didn't change the PS Font Name. It was still TimesNewRomanPSMT.
