HT2729 I can't find movie rentals on my iPad, even though in iTunes it says they are on my iPad. Not in Videos, of course.

I rented movies from iTunes and although it says they were transferred on to my iPad, I can't find these movies anywhere! And yes, I did look in Videos and also searched them on the search screen.

You dont just sync rental movies to the iPad - you "Move" them in the movies tab of iTunes while the iPad is connected, iTunes is running and with the iPad selected on the left side under devices and then you sync. You must be connected to the Internet as well in order for the movies to move to the iPad.
Therefore you can't auto sync movie rentals from iTunes to the iPad. Do you auto sync?

We rented 6 movies through iTunes on my son's pc and they look like they are on his iPad when we look at it through the iTunes on his PC but when we go and look on the actual iPad, we can't see them anywhere.
Am I missing something here?

For some reason he had to plug his iPad into his computer and power up iTunes in order to be able to rent the movies - he chose HD
When iTunes is open on his deksktop and the device "Jacob's iPad" is selected we can see the movies on his iPad like you showed in the first example you showed via the 8:25pm response.
If we disconnect the iPad from the desktop we can't find any of the movies on it - not using the Video app or through the iTunes app on the iPad.
We've basically deleted almost everything off the iPad in order to have enough room (32GB iPad) so that isn't the issue - we just can't find the darn things on the actual iPad.
I'm tempted to just reset the unit to factory settings and start from scratch but worry I'll lose the movies he has already rented and paid for via a credit given to him by his mom.

Luckily, I saved the "iTunes Library" file before updating and copied it in place and my library appeared. When I click on the "Do you want to find the original file" I can find it in the appropriate folder. I checked the "Preferences" and under "Advanced" I re-mapped it to the appropriate location and already had the 2 boxes for iTunes organizing files checked. Then went to "File" and "Organize Library" and clicked the first check box and then got the "Copying Files" bar. When this was completed, I thought it would be able to find the original files. I can't find my rental on my ipad or on my mac's itunes.. HELP!

I downloaded two rentals on itunes and then transferred them to my ipad but today there is only ONE rental on my ipad (i didn't play any of the two rentals so it couldn't have expired already) and i can't find the other one on my ipad or on my mac's itunes.. how can i find the second rental?!

Rental will expire after 30days even if you don't play it. You can check on your email receipt or under your purchase historic in your account.

I can't Find my Mac on my iPhone even though it's set up correctly

Friend left her laptop on a plane yesterday. Flagged it up to me. I have iPhone 4s and 5s and and iPad and a MacBook Pro. I can find the phones and the iPad on each other and on the laptop. However the laptop doesn't appear anywhere. I read how to set up find my Mac and at no times does it give me the option of telling it to use Find my iPhone. What am I missing here?

Check this and see if you have your music there. Or check wherever you have you rmusic stored.
I've never heard of an iOS device update that deleted the music in iTunes.

Can't find/connect to my hidden network even though everything is entered correctly.

Hi, ive been connected to a hidden network on my macbook pro for the past week and everythings been fine. I had to manually ask to join other network and enter the network name, security type and password and it worked first time...
However, I accidentally connected to another open network yesterday and, quite frankly - its a terrible one and want to go back to the hidden network that i was connected to.
This time, it cannot find the network even though ive entered everything in again correctly just as i did the first time. The password, Security type and Name are all exactly the same and havent been changed but yet it wont discover it...
Any help... please

Can't find movie rental

I rented a movie on my laptop, thought it finished downloading (the last I saw the status, it was 'Processing Download') and now I can not find it anywhere, except in my windows back up files. I've tired adding that file to my library but it doesn't work. I've tired finding it in my recent purchases AND checking for available downloads but nothing comes up. I've found the history of the purchase on my Account information on itunes and reported a problem but I don't have a solution. I would like to transfer the movie onto my ipad. Any thoughts!?

Thanks for the question. In iTunes 11, movie rentals will be displayed in the "Movies" tab under "Rented". If you cannot find your rental there, try checking for available downloads:

However, you may also go to iTunes on your computer, sign in to the iTunes Store, and choose Store > Check for Available Downloads and be able to download the movie using your computer.

I'm sorry you've lost files, but when you set up an account as Guest, there's a message that clearly states "When a guest user logs out, all information and files in the guest account's home folder are deleted". If you want an account where files are retained, you should create an Admin or Standard type.
You will need to use data recovery techniques to see if your file can be recovered. The more that you use your computer, the greater the risk that the file will be overwritten. You can contact a professional data recovery service such as DriveSavers (which will be expensive, but you can judge the value of the file) or try something like Data Rescue. The latter has a demo which you can install to determine if your file can be recovered, and then, on purchase, you can actually recover the file.

When i go onto i tunes UK site version 7 there is no heading for movies in the i tunes store, however when i look on the US site there is a section for movies. The US site will not let me purchase anything as my account is for UK store only. Where can i find movies on the UK site or how can i purchase on the US site ??

Movies are only available in the US at present and unless you can show some form of residency there you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.
I believe the plan for the Movies is to roll them out to other stores in 2007. However whether or even if the UK store gets them in 2007 will depend on the negotiations with the film distributors for the region.

Music and other purchased media doesn't sync to your Mac from iCloud, it must be downloaded to your iTunes library, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.
If they are on an iOS device, they can also be transferred to your iTunes library by opening iTunes on your Mac, authorizing iTunes for all Apple IDs used to purchase the media in Store>Authorize This Computer, then connecting your device to your computer and going to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.

Can't find movie I rented from iTunes. Tried purchased &downloads(at bottom of screen). Have first iPad& am new user to all things apple.
