HT2729 i downloaded quicktime but my movie still won't play. What's wrong?

when attempting to play the movie I downloaded, I get the message: "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not included in this version of iTunes." So I downloaded and installed QuickTime and then tried to play the movie, but the same message appears.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. The best method to resolve the issue of QuickTime no working properly is to remove all Apple Software from your computer then reinstall iTunes + QuickTime. The following article will assist with that process.

Ok nw the rented film is on the iPad which won't play and when I looked at the Mac I was greeted with an error message saying that the film could nt be transferred because the file had already been transferred somewhere else! Thing is I can see it on theioad and the Mac still!
Obviously the film Kees checking where it as you can't watch it in two places at the same time. I can understand that but I knw it's not anywhere else.
The only thing I can think of is if when time machine backs it up it thinks it's being watched!

That sounds like IE wants you to install the QuickTime ActiveX control.
Go back to the page you're getting the message on. At the bottom of the screen, can you see a long rectangular box asking you to allow/install something? (Sorry, it's been a while since I've seen the box in question, so I can't recall the precise wording.)
If so, allow/OK in that box. After the ActiveX control has gone in, can you see the videos in IE?

Delete the track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track file to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:

and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

More than half of the songs I've downloaded recently will allow playback because it says my computer is not authorized. When i authorize it, iTunes says my computer is already authorized. But the song still won't play. What gives?

How does one fix the problem of iTunes saying my computer is not authorized to play songs I've recently purchased, even though I continue to sign in for authorization? This is bullcrap.

Okay, that sounds like the dodgy tracks have been getting damaged during the download.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

.MOV file won't play in QuickTime Player? QT Components?

I have a bunch of .MOV clips on my hard drive that I'd like to ultimately import to Final Cut Express (4.0.1) to edit (my wedding video!!). If I double click on the clip, it automatically opens in QuickTime Player (7.6.9), and I then prompted to a QuickTime Components website. I'm not sure why the .MOV clips won't play, since I believe I have the latest version of QT. What should I do?
Additional information on the .MOVE files: original format is MPEG HD, dimensions: 1280 x 720, Codecs: XDCAM EX 720p30 (35 Mb/s VBR) Integer (Big Endian), Timecode

Upon further research, I found that a certain QT plug-in is required to use XDCAM EX footage in Final Cut Express, which can be found on this website:

When I hit play no music plays it just goes back to saying my computer is not authorized so I authorize it and it says it is already authorized then I click it again and it says my computer is not authorized. It's a never ending annoying circle. How can I get the song to play?
