HT2731 can I set up a second email address on iCloud using the same apple id

can I set up a 2nd email address on iCloud using the same apple I'd for a 4s iPhone?

You can create up to 3 alias @icloud.com email addresses for that purpose.  They will all receive email in your existing iCloud inbox and they can be deactivated or deleted if they attract too much spam.  This article explains how to create an alias address: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2622.

  • How can I enable Facetime for two different iTouch (4 gen) using the same Apple ID?

I would like to have each of them have their own distinct email address so I can Facetime them seperately, is this possible? I have two new iTouches for each of my kids, and I want to use one Apple ID so we can all share the same music. they have their own email accounts, but I would like to know if I can assign each of the iTouch with a different email address so I can facetime my kids using their distinct email address. Right now, they are sharing the email address assigned to our Apple ID, so they are ringing at the same time. Thanks!! CL

It is possible to use one Apple ID with Face Time and Messages by adding email addresses and setting the "you can be reached at" and "Start a new conversation from" in the settings for each device. This method does not work well though.
Your best option is to set each kid up with there own iCloud/Apple iTunes Store account (Apple ID) using their own email address. Then on each device set the iCloud Settings on each device to their specific Apple ID. Set the iTunes & Apps Store settings to use the main Apple ID for store purchases. With this setup each user will have their own distinct iCloud account which will not interferer with the others yet still make purchases from the main one.

  • How do I set up a second email address in icloud....it opens it in Mobileme??help

I am trying to add an additional email address and when I do it opens it in mobile me.....not sure what I am doing wrong...should it be @me.com or @mac.com....I thought @mac.com but it does not acknowlege it.....I would think this would be easy....I sure it is and I am just missing something.  HELP
    thanks

If as your signature states you are using 10.6.8 (if it isn't correct please update it to prevent confusion) then you need to set Mail up manually to access an existing iCloud account's email - the method detailed in this page gets round Snow Leopard's tendency to dump you into a MobileMe account:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard
You cannot create a new iCloud account in Snow Leopard; you cannot create a new @mac.com address in anything. If you already have an iCloud account migrated from MobileMe, then if you had an @mac.com version of the address in that then you still have it.
If you have an iCloud account you can add up to three 'email aliases', which are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main address. These can only be @me.com addresses. You do this at http://icloud.com - please see this page:

  • Can I stop voice calls from going to multiple devices using the same Apple id?

We just upgraded three iPhones and added two iPads. Now we all ring for calls directed to any device.

Did you try to search for a similar question on the Verizon Wireless Community forum? I know I have seen at least two different discussions on this same situation in the last two days. Check both the Apple space and the iPhone 6 space.

  • HT204053 Can multiple people use the same Apple ID for their own devices?

Can multiple people use the same Apple ID for their own devices? I just set up my IPhone 4S (first time user) using the same Apple ID as my daughters and now we receive each others texts, do I need to set up my own Apple ID account?

Yes, you can.  In fact it's recommended that you use different IDs for iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud.  You can still share the same ID for iTunes without any issues.
You are getting each other's text messages because you're using the same ID for iMessage.  To fix this, one of you should go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign in with a different ID.  To avoid getting each other's FaceTime calls, do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.

  • I created an Apple ID for my daughter with her own gmail address, but I want her Apple ID and primary email address to be an iCloud email address. How can I do this? I can't set up an icould email address for her without first creating an Apple ID?

I have created an Apple ID for my daughter with her own gmail address as the primary email address, but I want her Apple ID and primary email address to be an iCloud email address. How can I do this? I can't set up an icould email address for her without first creating an Apple ID right?
I'm not good with computers so please explain in simple way...:)
I also wonder what the best way is to set up accounts for children in a family. I dont want them to be able to purchase apps etc through the parents accounts, also some things we like to share as a family and others we don't want to share. Is there any good. clear, simple explanation from Apple Support about these issues? Or best to go to Apple store and go to genius bar or one to one advise?
    thanks

You can set up an iCloud account which makes the iCloud email address you choose the Apple ID and thus the login for it:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/22283348#22283348
though I have to say I think it's more sensible if the ID is another address, both for security reasons (so people don't know what the login is) and as a contact address from Apple if the account were to stop working and they needed to contact you. So personally I would to to System Preferences, enter the GMail address which is an ID, and then choose a nerw @icloud.com address.
If she has her own iCloud account she will need either her own computer or her own user account on your Mac to be able to make use of it. You should note that under Apple's terms of use Apple IDs are only available to children of 13 and over.
As to purchasing apps, this is nothing to do with iCloud: it's iTunes, and the login can be different. So you can all sign into the same iTunes account but have different iCloud accounts. Or she can have her own iTunes account if she is of suitable age (credit card needed for purchasing apps).
If you have other children you should be aware that any one Mac or device can create only three iCloud accounts - this is tied to the serial number, not the user account, and once reached cannot be bypassed. You can of course sign into an iCloud account created on another device.

  • If i used the same apple id and email to set up both my ipad and ipod what can i do to be able to use face time to call from one device to the other

if i used the same apple id and email to set up both my ipad and ipod what can i do to be able to use face time to call from one device to the other

They can share an Apple ID, but each device must use a different email address when setting up FaceTime.  Create a gmail email (or hotmail, or ...) address and use that on one of the devices when you setup FaceTime.
You don't actually have to use the 'new' email address, it is probably just used as an index to reference the correct device when initiating a call via the FaceTime server.

You must be talking about email aliases.  Log into icloud.com with a browser, go to the email page and click the cog wheel icon in the upper right.  Go to preferences>accounts.  YOu can define aliases there.  Note that they must now be @icloud.com named emails.

  • HT4436 can I have a second icloud account for my spouse and use the same apple account

I was trying to find out if it is possible to set up a second icloud email account for my wife and both use the same apple ID so we can share bought apps without her receiving all of my calander notices, email alerts etc?

Yes, you can delete your account from settings > iCloud.  Your data will be stored in your personal account (simply choose to delete all information from your iPad when prompted). Then make a new one (again, settings > iCloud) making an account for your class.  When you are done in the classroom, delete the iCloud account again and login with your personal account  When prompted, always delete the information.
    Kind regards,

  • Please can someone tell me how to set up FaceTime between 3 devices all using the same apple ID ( 2 iPads and a iPhone)????, Please can someone tell me how to set up FaceTime between 3 devices all using the same apple ID ( 2 iPads and a iPhone)????

I am trying to set up FaceTime on all my apple devices so I can FaceTime each device but all 3 devices are using the same apple Id and I have no idea how to sort this???

Facetime only works with two devices at a time. You can have the same Apple ID, but the two devices can't have the same email address. Get a new gmail account. Normally you use wifi for connection, however, with iOS 6 and an iPad 3 you can use cellular.

I saw one post where a user said dust got inside the small microphone hole. Using a vacuum cleaner removed the dust and restored the audio.

  • How do I set up iMessage so I can send messages from my iPad to my iPhone using the same apple id

I am trying to set up iMessage so I can send and receive messages on my iphone 5 and my iPad using the same apple id.

I assume that you want to keep the same Apple ID on both devices for downloads and purchases but you just want to know how you can use Messages on both devices without creating a new Apple ID.
On one of the two devices ....Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessage at>add another email address ... and enter another working email address. After you enter the email address and it is verified by Apple, go to the InBox of that email account, read the email from Apple and follow the instructions to complete the verification. Then go back to the settings and remove your Apple ID email address. You will now use that new email address at the contact at email address for messages on that device.
You can keep your Apple ID email address and use that one on the other device.

I have 2 .mac email accounts, one of them has a sub-address. Can I keep all 3 .mac email addresses in iCloud?

You will need to migrate each account seperately using the Move website, the alias will also be migrated to iCloud with whichever account it is under (the only problem with aliases, occurs when you have more than 3 in an account)
When you log into iCloud on the computer running Lion, iCloud will update your mail accounts for you, on the computers running Snow Leopard you will have to set up the mail accounts manually. Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard
You won't be able to use your iCloud contacts and calendars on the computers running snow leopard with Address book and iCal, but can access them from the web interface at iCloud.com

  • IPad2 and a new MacBook running Lion, Both Devices use the same Apple ID which is a Hotmail eMail id. Can I create a new iCloud eMail Id and use iCloud eMail and continue to use my Hotmail Id for my Apple Id and use it for iTunes, iCloud

I have an iPad2 and a new MacBook running Mountain Lion. Both Devices use the same Apple ID which is a Hotmail eMail id. Can I create a new iCloud eMail Id and use iCloud eMail and continue to use my current Hotmail Id for my Apple Id for iTunes, iCloud.
Note, I will use both Hotmail and iCloud eMail.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

  • Family of 5, all use the same Apple ID/Password/Account.  In settings/messages/send recieve you can "check" my email and up to three phone numbers.  Essentially allowing all iMessages to be sent

Family of 5, all use the same Apple ID/Password/Account.  In settings/messages/send>recieve you can "check" my email and up to three phone numbers.  Essentially allowing all iMessages to be copied to shared account numbers.  Please help me figure out  how to prevent my children from recieving my text correspondence.

On the devices for the members of your family that you DO NOT want to see your iMessagees, go to
    Settings App
    Messages
    Send and Receive
You should see a list of available contacts which would make messages appear. Make certain that each family member has their own individual contact and NOT the same one that you use. I find it useful to have each family member have their own icloud email and use that for iMessaging my kids. My kids do not have iPhones, but if yours do, their phone number should be listed as well. For iPads and iTouches, use icloud email addresses. If you need to send a message to all 3 kids, say, you can just add all three emails to the To box on your iMessage.
    Hope that makes sense.
