HT2731 No email verification email sent from apple? Does it take a long time to come through

New to iPad. Waiting and waiting for email verification email to come through. None received, have checked email address. Other emails being recieived. Any ideas.

What do you mean by "come through"?

ICloud emails sent from apple mail or iPhone 3gs never arrives, works fine when sent from iCloud website

The ony place I have been able to send and receive email since the launch of iCloud has been the icloud website. I wasn't able to send email from my iphone 3gs or apple mail at all until today, now it finally appears to let me send email but it never arrives to its destination.
I can send an email from the icloud website without issue, and email sent from my icloud account using my iphone 3gs and apple mail seems to send fine and without error but who knows where it goes.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I figured out how to fix it... if anyone else has this problem, go to Outlook > Preferences > Accounts > select the IMAP account > Advanced > Folders and for "Store Sent Messages in this Folder:" select "Sent Messages (Server)."

How to identify a nested email sent from Apple 'Mail' client

I am trying to identify whether an attachment to an email is a mail in itself. I have to parse and extract the contents
of the nested email in an email. I am identifying an attch as an email if its content type is message/rfc822. But in case if
the email(both attached and enclosing) is sent from Apple's Mail client 'Mail' its failed. Can some one help me in resolving this!
just looking for the content type message/rfc822 may not be enough!!

What does the message from Apple Mail look like?
Use the msgshow.java demo program with the -s option to show the structure of the message.

Email sent from Apple Mail to Outlook, recipient gets 2 versions

When I send an email from Apple Mail to my Outlook Express and open it in Outlook it shows two versions of the email. First is formatted the way I sent it (Rich Text) and then below that is the same message in Plain Text with an line (HR) between them.
I don't see any settings in either Mail or Outlook to change this. Only time it doesn't happen is if I send it as Plain Text to begin with.
(ps. read as Plain Text is not selected in Outlook)

You are typically "the man" on such issues, but I believe Apple has said some place that their RTF is only a subset of HTML? I know it gets converted to HTML like encoding, but did not think it is full HTML?
It's true that when composing in Mail you only have access to those parts of html that Apple has provided an interface for, so there are various html things you cannot do. But those things you can do, like choose the font, font size, font color, etc. are done with standard html codes, the Content-Type header of a "rich text" message says "text/html", and the message source starts out with the codes < html > < head > < body > like any other html message would.

AAAARGGHH - I posted to grumble about the "new" iTunes, [which is still a load of garbage], but cos 100s of people feel the same too, my mailbox is FULL of threads to the post.
I have reset my e-mail preferences to NO for ALL notifications, with a conspicuos lack of success. So i use a junk filter to stop them, but I ain't pleased. Can anyone explain how I can get the system to work right [I know, I can guess what you are thinking, expaecting anything from Apple to be user friendly is a long shot.... but at least on can try!]

Apple control - Front Row takes a long time to open through the Menu Butto?

I am using a ManMini as a HTPC. Front Row is being used as my Media Choice. When I click the Menu Button Front Row may not open or it may take a very longtime to activate.

If you use the Accounts System Preferences to create a brand new user, log out and log in as the new user, how long does it take the new user to open Front Row with the remote? If it's just as slow, you have a system-wide issue. If Front Row opens quickly for the new user, then your original user may have a movie, song or picture that's taking a long time for your Front Row to access. Let us know what you find out from this troubleshooting step.

I just submitted the form to have my G4 powerbook 15" battery replaced under the recall program and got an email confirmation message from "[email protected]"---
I think that is supposed to be '[email protected]'.

The only number listed in the package I received today is the general apple support phone number: 1-800-275-2273
The phone menu doesn't have an option I can punch to speak with someone about this issue. Also, the package I received appears to have been delivered by dhl and does not have a FedEx-branded return label. The included instructions tell me to read the back of the FedEx return label for instructions on returning the battery. Ok, well, there are no instructions on the back of the label. It doesn't have any delivery service name on it. I don't know if this is USPS, DHL, FedEx, or UPS.
I wish an Apple support representative would be able to tell me how I can return the bad battery to Apple.

Just started using MackBook Air, love it. Can someone guide me please. When i send an email from MacBook Air, it does not appear in the "Sent" folder on the iphone or other computer?
How can i fix this issue, so that whatever email i send using yahoo or etc, appears on all, ie MacBook Air, iphone, windows.

That will happen under two conditions:
You have an IMAP mail account, such as iCloud.
You select the option to store sent messages on the server in the account settings.

What to do when apple tv purchases take a long time to load?

We have had our Apple Tv for a few months, love it.
However recently some of our purchased (and sometimes just netflix and hulu) take an extra long amount of time to load (4 hours?) Some cases we are quoted 52 hrs?
Very frustrating especially when your acessing content that is "instant".
Our wireless connection has the highest signal strength when checked.
Any ideas?

Signal strength doesn't really tell you much.
Check your actual speed using speedtest.net.
Check for interference using istumbler.net ot netstumbler
Make sure you are using your ISPs DNS (settings - network - configure DNS - automatic)

Retrieving free/busy information from the server takes very long time

Hello, we are running Outlook 2010 32-bit in Windows 7 64.bit, and have encountered a strange problem, whenever we want to book
a resource (i.e. conference room) from Scheduling assistant, it takes very long time, sometimes even more than a minute to see the utilization of the room, it being stuck at "Updating schedule information. Retrieving free/busy information from the server"
The interesting thing is that most newly deployed PCs exhibits this same behavior, while older machines with basically the same setup gets the availability information almost immediately.
It is unclear whether this is a server setting or desktop issue, as all new Windows 7/Outlook machines that are deployed from the WDS-server exhibits the same slow behavior.
Please advise any troubleshooting steps to investigate the very slow retrieval lookup of free/busy information from the Exchange server.

If no, it means the issue is mainly related to the Outlook client.

You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink. This person receiving my email, while on a Mac with Safari is reading their mail through Safari using Horde--our recent discovery. Why they chose to do that in unclear. The last email we sent, however, was miraculously read and received and the attachment was viewed with no problem after we told them our mail was coming from a Mac thriugh Apple Mail. It seems that telling them that our emails were coming from a Mac and using Apple Mail was enough to make them think that perhaps THEY were doing something not quite right. Thank you both, Level 7 and Level 5.

Just to be CRISTAL CLEAR please don't reply with export instructions from the address book.....not interested in this.
I have customers that fill-out a request form online, then the data is sent to our database on our server, and another copy is sent to my email account. The server database got corrupted and is now lost. The only data left are in my email app called APPLE MAIL. I have created Filtered Folders so the data is just in one Folder, not mixed with all other emails. Is there a way to export the email names & addresses from APPLE MAIL to a CVS file or Excel file?
Again this is not a question related to Apple Address Book. This is ONLY for Apple MAIL exporting!

There is a collection of AppleScripts called Mail Scripts you can download at this link.

The script to use from the collection of scripts is Add Addresses (Mail) which adds addresses found in the selected messages (in the header fields "From", "To", "Cc", and "Bcc") to the Address Book. This is much more flexible than the "Add Sender to Address Book" available in Mail and provides a convenient way for creating mailing lists.

Email sent from iPhone appears in Sent Items days later

On our Mac clients we use Entourage 2008 SP2 which connects to Exchange 2003 SP2 running on Window Server 2003.
So we're very pleased our iPhone 3Gs with 3.1.1 work as well as they do with ActiveSync email to Exchange. (Well done Apple.)
However, we have noticed that some emails sent from the iPhone appear in Entourage's (and OWA's) Sent Items folder days later than when the message was sent.
Also, the Subject is BLANK.
This is not good as we are contemplating moving from BlackBerry to iPhone for our client servicing teams who need to have an accurate record on on-the-hoof communications.
Any ideas?

IPhone OS 3.0 did not identify itself properly to Exchange 2007 on any iPhone. With iPhone OS 3.1, all iPhones identify themselves properly to the server, essentially fixing a glitch in the previous operating system. However, now iPhone and iPhone 3G users that upgraded to iPhone OS 3.1 won't be able to login to Exchange 2007 servers that require hardware encryption. The new iPhone 3GS, you won't notice any change. Apple's newest phone is equipped with hardware encryption, so it will meet the requirements of the Exchange server when identifying itself. If you've already upgraded your phones to iPhone OS 3.1 on an iPhone or iPhone 3G and connect to an Exchange 2007 server, you have to turn off the hardware encryption requirement for those devices. So, if you decide you have to have hardware encryption, then you'll need to upgrade all phones to 3gs.
