I used to have ****** brand on my iPad 2 but I don't like the new version of the ***** brand. The stand is cheap and flimsy and I prefer the rubber bumber that the previous *******'s had. (Keep in mind that I have to write ***** because if I name the brand, Apple will delete my post like they did 10 minutes ago)
Is there a rugged iPad 4 case with rubber bumbers, clear screen protector and a rotating swivel stand? If this case had rubber bumpers and a clear cover, I'd be all over it.

I want to buy the special edition of iPad 2 for Autistic child. It is normal iPad 2, but already loaded by some applications for Autistic child.

As far as I know there is no such ipad as a special edition for autistic children. However you can purchase an ipad and also a protective cover (this is a necessity as a dropped ipad will damage your ipad without a case) and you can buy aps for autism on the itunes store. (try google to find lists of such aps as some parents put them up to help others - also try the facebook autism support groups also as they too do mention aps that are useful for autistic children). Your State autism group (Victoria?) should also have information on autism aps or even a workshop that may detail such aps.

Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly. Also Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.

Special education - where can I find apps for iPads?

I am looking for apps for a high school student who is ELL and SpEd, identified as SLD in reading. He needs a screen reader and speech to text. If anyone has experience or suggestions, I would appreciate your help. The Apple Store website does not seem especially user-friendly to me.

If you open iTunes > App Store > Drop down menu choose Education > in the right panel you will see Special Education

Copying over photos via iTunes/iPhoto - there is a back-up file created (I can not turn it off) and it's now filling my PB-Pro.
So I need to find it and trash it and start over.

ctrl-clicked on it and opened package/content
here I found the iPod photo cashe folder
copyed this to a safe hard disk
then deleting it's content
and my memory/free space on boot drive is back
So I hope all's well.

The app store is the only place to get apps for your iPad. Some developers allow you to download older compatible versions of their apps - if there is a free game that you want then you could try downloading the current version on your computer's iTunes so that it's in your account's purchase/download history, and then on your iPad see if you can download an older compatible version of it. If it's a paid-for app then try contacting the developer first (there should be a link to the developer's site on the app's description page) and ask them if that will work for their app (don't buy it first and then find that it doesn't).
