HT2731 Why itunes doesn't accept my payment card

Why itunes doesn't accept my mastercard when i sign in with this Apple Id in iTunes Store in windows 8 ,  i have two mastercards of two different banks in India.
iTunes says - " The payment card number you entered is not a valid payment card number"
Currently i have Debit Master cards of banks
1. State Bank Of India
2. Punjab national Bank
Please help me to create my apple id with iTunes store

If you are trying to use debit cards then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined. Do you have a credit card that you could use instead ? Credit cards are generally considered safer than debit cards.
If you only have debit cards then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they can help, but I don't think that you will be able to use them : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

iTunes doesn't accept my MC credit card from Puerto Rico, because the credit card number entered is not a valid number for this card.  But it is!  And the other excused is that the address doesn't match the bank one.  What can I do?

The above reply is ridiculous. I have the same problem, and I see authorization after authorization from the iTunes store on my card. Yet, it refuses to update my card info saying that it is not a valid card for Japan. Seems similar to this issue: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CD0QFjAB&ur l=https%3A%2F%2Fdiscussions.apple.com%2Fthread%2F3783135%3Fstart%3D0%26tstart%3D 0&ei=oI3zT7X3HcTmmAWD8LGFBQ&usg=AFQjCNEINTpL-XhyCasZgT0ufSIGe8dBvA&sig2=T9DSGCng ZV_EPcGdyHZfwA

If it is trying to verify your payment info, I would be willing to guess that it is looking for the security code for your credit card. Did you credit card just get replaced lately or the expiration date change? When is the last time that you updated your payment information in iTunes?

I cannot find this 300GB "Backup" in the Finder, only in the Storage info when I check "About This Mac".
You are probably using Time Machine to backup your MacBook Pro, right? Then the additional 300 GB could be local Time Machine snapshots.  Time Machine will write the hourly backups to the free space on your hard disk, if the backup drive is temporarily not connected. You do not see these local backups in the Finder, and MacOS will delete them, when you make a regular backup to Time Machine, or when you need the space for other data.
See Pondini's page for more explanation:   What are Local Snapshots?   http://pondini.org/TM/FAQ.html
I have restarted my computer, but the information remains the same. How do I reclaim the use of the 300GB? Why is it showing up as "Backups" when it used to indicate "Photos"? Are my photos safe on the external drive?
You have tested the library on the external drive, and so your photos are save there.
The local TimeMachine snapshot probably now contains a backup of the moved library.  Try, if connecting your Time Machine drive will reduce the size of your local Time Machine snapshots.

why can I not change my payment card?

This region thing and reset limit is not new. It was put in place since the medium debuted in the 90's. It is a means of controlling content distribution to the studios benefit. For instance, launch Avatar II in the US, milk the local moviegoers while creating expectation, then slowly release it to different regions of the world. Or keep the pesky Euro movies out of the US market to avoid eating into the meager sales.
Some directors loathe this with a PASSION. That's why Peter Jackson released the home version of Lord of the Rings Trilogy simultaneously worldwide.

  • HT3702 Hi there, can somebody help me in showing me how to reset my credit card information on iTunes Store as I have the credit card and it seems like the system doesn't accept my new card.

Good day, can someone show how to update a new credit card on iTunes Store as I have changed my credit card. It seems like the system doesn't accept the new infos but when investigated with apple store staff members, they said I had a previous purchase to complete for the payment in order to update my new infos. Does Apple have authorization credit card form? So that I can authorize them to finalize the previous purchase payment with a new card.

You may want to try gift cards as an alternative.

  • ITunes won't accept a payment method... donno what else to say

Ok, So I'm a US citizen living in Canada, apparently this concept is too much for iTunes to handle.
When trying to pay for iTunes it asked for a credit card, I would like to just use free apps, but I guess this is the penalty I pay for going with Apple. So I enter my credit card and my address and get the message that this credit card is not valid in Canada (because I got it in the US). This is pretty amusing though because the 7-11 down the street finds it perfectly valid and is more than happy to take it.
So fine, I change my location to US, proceed to enter my US address (which is still valid, though no longer where I have my bills sent to). Fill out the form once again, and this time get a message that says my information doesn't match with my credit card. This one isn't a surprise, my credit card company knows I'm in Canada.
Fine, I'll use paypal, that -is- still linked to my US address/bank, and is perfectly valid and up to date. So I once again tell iTunes that sure, I'm living in the US (a blatant lie, but I'm getting pretty desperate to get at my free apps). So I hit paypal and continue, firefox opens, log into my paypal, click accept, etc and it sends me back to the iTunes store site at the end of it all, perfect, I log into paypal and there under my pay list is iTunes store, sure enough it worked.
So I open back up the iTunes app and click Sign In.... "This apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes store". ARRRRRRG!
Since then I've tried changing my billing address on my card to get iTunes to accept it, which didn't work but resulted in such amusing errors as "Errors.zip", that's what it said, right above where I put my address in... but nothing I've found yet, across 2 credit cards and paypal has worked.
Is it really that hard to download free apps? Everyone recommended this because of how easy it is to use. Being an IT student I scoffed, as I often do at Apple products, but hey, I also recognize something well designed, and the iPod is that... now if only I could use it...
So I guess what I'm saying is... any tips or advice on how to get this to work?

I'd recommend contacting your bank and ask if there's anything on your account that might be stopping you from using your card. You can also contact support and have them check your account.

  • ITunes doesn't accept Apple ID login

    Dear All
the log-in for billing / account data in iTunes 11.1.4 doesn't accept my Apple ID. Password is correct and internet connection works well.
What seems bizarr is, that it accepts my ID / pass to login into iTunes Store (it also works for other Apple ID logins), but when I click on my account name in iTunes to see what I bought and other data, it doesn't accept the password. It just keeps repeating the pop-up the window/message, that it needs my login. Only if I use an incorrect passw, it shows up the red phrase saying the ID is wrong. But if I tell the correct passw it keeps repeating the normal message without red phrase.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks all in advance

I wish I had an answer for you, but I'm having the exact same problem. Current version of iTunes, correct Apple ID - repeating login request.
    Any solutions out there?

  • Why iTunes doesn't have folder watch function?

Why Apple doesn't realize this function?

We're all just your fellow users here and have no idea why Apple has made the design and engineering decisions they have. You can comment to Apple on this subject here, if you wish:

Meanwhile, you can drop the tracks into the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder in the iTunes Music folder, or you can try these potential solutions from other developers:

  • Possible (1) cause why iTunes doesn't work on some windows systems

I'm currently working on a notebook computer for a friend. The problem? iTunes does not launch.
Selecting the iTunes icon does nothing.
Loaded iTunes onto (2) of my computers. A desktop and a notebook. Both worked well.
Attempted to launch the Quicktime icon on her system. Just as with the iTunes - nothing.
So, I re-read the Minimal System Requirements. iTunes requires 256mb of memory. And on her notebook - only has 240mb.
My memory (DDR2) won't work on her older system. But I suspect this may be (at least) one reason why iTunes does not launch.

    Hello Lorenzo 1972,
It sounds like you are unable to open iTunes even after a fresh install with the error that it cannot find the iTunes.exe file. That path, c:\program files (x86)\itunes\itunes.exe leads to the 32 bit program folder for iTunes. If you are using a shortcut you had on the desktop pre install, try going to C:\program files\itunes\ and finding the iTunes.exe file there.
If not it sounds like iTunes may be installing a damaged copy of the 32 bit version of the application, so I would recommend the following article to help you get any old installation files out so you can install the 64 bit version fresh:

  • I can't update apps as itunes doesn't accept my password on iphone 5

I cannot update my apps because iTunes won't accept my password.

Make sure that under the settings app --> store --> Apple ID:[your apple ID here] is correct.  If it is, go to https://iforgot.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/DSiForgot.woa/wa/iforgot and reset your password to what you want it to be.  If it is not the apple ID you bought the apps on, then change it and try again.
And Drbean: are you logged in under the account you bought them in and entering the current password?
