HT2736 Can I gift a song if I have already purchased it?

If I try buying the song again and choose gift will I get charged again even though I own the song?

Yes, you will be charged again if you want to give a track to someone else, just as if you want to give someone a physical CD from a store even though you already own the CD yourself.
Regards.

  • HT2736 How can I gift an app that I have already purchased?

I am closing down one of my apple accounts that I no longer use.  Can I gift my purchased apps on that account to my other account? They can then be removed from the original account.
    Thanks for any help

" Can I gift my purchased apps on that account to my other account? "
    No.
All purchases made with that account will always be tied to that account.  You will have to authorize your computers for that account and update your apps using that account.

  • HT2736 Can I gift a song to two people at the same time so I only have to go through the process once?

As the subject says can I gift a song to two people at the same time so I only have to go through the process once? For example can I enter two seperate email addresses in the "To" line seperated by a semicolon like I can in Outlook?
    Thanks for the help

Is there any way I can be on both of these networks at the same time or is there some other way I can configure this?
Yes, you can reconfigure the Time Capsule (TC) to "Join a wireless network." In this case the wireless network would be the one created by the other wireless Internet router. In this configuration, the TC can still share its internal (and external) hard drive and a printer attached to the USB port. However, note that this would disable the TC as a router and an Ethernet switch so basically it will perform as a wireless client.

  • HT2736 Can you gift a song to multiple e-mail addresses?

I want to gift a song to multiple e-mail addresses. Can I do that and how can I do that? Do I need to put a comma and space after each address?  Also how many e-mail address Can I send the song to?

You can buy a song, an album, a video, an audiobook, a TV episode or season, a movie, or an application for anyone who has a valid email address. Once you purchase a gift, it will be delivered by email to the person or group of people you specified as the recipient(s).
Check this out for instructions on how to send to multiple emails and what the limit is:

  • I have downloaded itunes, but whenever I try to play a song that I have already purchased I get a message that tells me that my computer isn't authorized. How do I authorize it? This is a new computer.

I have an itunes account with a lot of songs. I just bought a new computer, and whenever I try to play a song that I already paid for it tells me that my computer is not authorized. How do I authorize it? I had a new computer before and never had any problems playing the songs. Please can anyone tell me how to authorize my computer?

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • I had to take my cmputer back to factory settings and lost my music. How do I get the songs that I have already purchased back?

I had to take my computer back to factory settings and I lost my music. How do I get my music that I previously back on Itunes?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Certainly you did not restore your computer without making sure that your backup copy was up to date.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:  File>Transfer Purchases

  • My computer is already authorized. However, iTunes will not allow me to play songs that I've already purchased

Click here and follow the instructions, or if only a small number of songs are affected, delete and redownload them if doing so is free in your country.

  • How can I gift a song I have previously purchased (ie, purchase it again as a gift for someone)b

Hi there.  Have purchased and downloaded some music from iTunes. Would like to purchase some of these songs as a gift, and send them to a friend ... But cannot find a way to do so, since the iTunes store registers that I have already purchased the music I want to gift. Any suggestions for a work-around?

I agree. It seems a strange oversight, since the people most likely to want to gift a track are those who own and like it already. You can comment to Apple here, if you wish:

I did, and I urge anyone else bothered by this to comment as well.
    Regards.

  • Why can you not buy all songs as a ring tone but can buy the whole song? I have an app to get them but don't know how to get them to tones !

Because not all songs are licensed (by the label) to be used as a ringtone.

  • HT2736 I purchased a tv show. I like it so much I was willing give as a gift. Unfortunately the gift button doesn't appear. It seems because I have already purchased it for myself, I am unable to give it as a gift.

    Long over due screen shots.
Clearly the problem is ANY item I have purchased/own can not be gifted.
I can't believe I am the only one having this problem.
By the way I tried from my desktop in iTunes and guess what.......
    SAME PROBLEM.
I find this all very amusing.
Someone in charge at iTunes HQ has either missed this or has some explanation for this.
I would love to know the reason.

  • HT203167 can't find songs that iTunes says i have already purchased

I go to the iTunes Store to purchase a song and when I find the song and click on it to purchase I get a message saying that I have already purchased this song in the past.  Do I wish to purchase it again?  I click on cancel and go look for the song in my Purchased Folder and can not find the song. This has happened on a few songs.  How do I get all the songs that I have ever purchased to show up in my Purchased Folder?
