HT2736 Missing Gifted Tracks

I have been sent 2"Gifted Tracks" from my young Godson ..... but whilst I receive the emails from iTunes telling me I've got the tracks as a Gift from him I never receive them. When I click on the "Redeem Now" Button on the email I do get redirected to my ITunes Account .... but then nothing ..... the track doesn't automatically download and in fact it completely disappears. Why? I tried talking to Apple Support about this last time this happened last year and they simply could not understand what I was talking about. They seemed to think I was trying to redeem a Gift CARD not a Gift SONG no matter how I worded it and they could not get to the bottom of the problem. Now a year later and the very same thing happened again. Grrrrr.
I would appreciate any help as to where to start looking as I doubt that Apple Support will be able to help me - since they couldn't last time.
If it is of any help - I did have MEGA problems with my iTunes Account when I first opened it - and also my iPod which kept corrupting for no reason. In the end I had to have 2 repacement iPods to erradicate the problem. Fingers crossed since then all has been well - but now I am back to this problem - which is very embarrasing for me as it's my young Godson who is very kindly paying for these tracks.

Is there a workaround for the missing global track chords? i.e. will Apple loops follow the chord progression in a track?

I found sort of a work around. I still have Logic Pro 9. It turns out that if you go into global tracks, analyze the chords then go back to logic pro x the chord progression is preserved. So the information is preserved there just seems no way to create it in X.

Letters missing from track info

My nano (3g) is about two months old. Recently, random letters have been missing from the track information for various songs. For example, 'Rebellion' is shown as 'ebellion' and 'Queen - Princes of the Universe' is displayed as 'ueen - rinces of the niverse'. As shown, it's always the first letter that's omitted. Has anyone encountered this problem and/or know how to solve it? The iPod is otherwise fine.

Never heard of that one before. Curious though, it is always the first letter of each word regardless if they are capitalized or not? Or do all capitalized letters go away regardless if they are at the front of a word or not?
Have you tried performing a restore on the iPod?

How to reconnect lots of lost or miss filed tracks?

Like lots of others I have a library where I have many tracks which can't be found. I know that all of the tracks it says are missing are really on my PC its just a case of spending lots of time reconnecting them one at a time. I usually just open another window & have windows do a search for the title. It always finds them. This only fixes one disconnected track & to reconnect all of the tracks that fall into this category with take too long.
Is there any other easier way to reconnect these tracks? I was thinking along the lines of the way my Video program works where I let the program do a search in an are that I define & once its found the first match it keeps on looking in that same area for more unconnected files.

All of my music files had been copied to an external hard drive before my PC crashed. I'm not certain what drive letter Windows had assigned that drive since I have had so many. In any event I copied all of the music files from that drive onto the folder Windows 7 calls desktop> music files. I'm guessing that this is a 'C' drove.
What I think you are suggesting is that copy the files from the external drive to a different drive or partition on my PC, say 'D' drive & see if i Tunes picks up all of my files. Then if It doesn't do so rename 'D' drive to 'E' etc until I find a drive letter that i Tunes remembers. If It does recognize tracks that it could not find won't the tracks that its currently finding no longer work?
What would happen if I were to tell i Tunes to add any entire extra folder that appears to be missing. I can see that this approach might add more tracks into my library but would this approach result in creating lots of duplicates? I already know that i Tunes does an abysmal job of looking out for duplicates. I have seen on the duplicate lists many tracks that should not appear there. The artists name & song title might be the same but the singer has recorded the same song at different times & the album name & songs duration is different. I have looked at a listing by
an artist & seen real duplicates that aren't on i Tunes official duplicate list.

Missing Vocal Tracks

Lately I've been experiencing this weird thing where random vocal tracks from my Garageband files are going missing. I'll open a song I did about a year or so ago or even a couple of months ago and as it's loading files it will inform me that tracks are missing. If I look in the Package Contents, they are, indeed, gone. This seems to be isolated to only my Garageband files -- my Logic Studio files don't seem to have this problem.

I also encountered this issue with part of a movie commentary track I am recording.

Missing Audio track controls (fader, solo, mute, sends, inserts etc...)

After doing a "save as project" I ended up with 2 big problems. When I pull the song off the CDR and open it up on my computer the controls for some audio tracks are missing. I lose anything having to do with track control such as input, output, fade, solo, pan, inserts, buses, mute, record. The only thing i can see is the group assignment and automation pull down menus. The other problem i have is that i have to manually relink all the audio files. Why can't the session file find the audio files??? They are all in the audio files folder right next to the session file. Arg. i am running logic pro 7 and the computer that the "save project" was completed on is running logic 6 express 6.4.0.

Sounds like your parameters are not viewed. In the arrange window menus - there should be a view menu and it allows you select what things to see for each track.
Maybe view parameters or view channel strip only settings may help.
Not sitting in front of Logic at the moment.
May have something to do with goign from L6 to L7,but i'm only guessing on that one.

H.264 export, randomly missing audio tracks

Came across a strange issue when exporting a 1080p timeline using the H.264 export option. The first export had some strange video flickering issue, but the audio was fine. So I re-exported and switched to CBR instead of 2 pass VBR. On the 2nd export, the footage looked fine but for some reason tracks 3 and 4 which contained background audio, were not in the exported file, just silence. The thing that concerns me is the only encoding option I changed was the bitrate, and going from VBR to CBR, everything else stayed the same in the 2 exports. I have no idea why Premiere would mysteriously drop 2 of my audio tracks. Has this happened to anyone else? This problem has happened to me before, both with the flickering and missing audio. I've tried the usual updating to current version of Premiere, clearing preferences, etc. and still running into this.

I work in Broadcasting and we use Quicktime HD 1080i h264 with no problems. Plus the file sizes are just amazing (Less than 100mg for a 30 seconds)

Missing iTunes tracks on Apple TV

Most of my library is present, but some listings show the Artwork and list the album but then on entering shows No Content Available.
Also noticed that following the update, unchecked tracks in the library are greyed, playable but only playable individually, similar to iTunes itself.
But biggest niggle is the missing stuff.

Check the formats of the missing files........ compare these against the list of ATV2 compatible file types on the ATV2 webpage. This is usually a problem caused by failure of ATV@ to be able to handle / recognize a file. Existing files can be transcoded to compliant file type using free tools like Handbrake.

Missing audio tracks when importing mp4 movie clip into adobe premier trial

I am trying to sanitize a movie clip by bleeping out the curse words in the clip. However when I import the clip on Adobe, I am missing 3/4 audio tracks; bringing the sound level way down. Can someone please assist me. I've been trying to fix it all morning!!

Missing 'Export Track as Audio File' command Logic Pro X 10.0.6

Hi - I have just installed Logic Pro X (v10.0.6) for the first time, having come across from PT.
For some reason, Logic appears to be missing some key 'Export Track as Audio File' commands from the menu. The shortcut Command + E just makes the screen flash and nothing happens. I also appear to be missing a lot of other basic commands along with this, based on what I have seen online from other users. Please see screenshot below of my file > export options:
I have tried reinstalling but the same problem occurs.
Could someone please confirm if this is normal, or how I might be able to fix if not? FYI, I am running OS X 10.9.1..

So an experienced DAW user that hasn't previously used Logic, would get the limited installation.
The more people you try and and protect from themselves the more generic (i.e. limited) the solution.
Religion would be a good example of this.

Missing song track

I’ve created a project in Final Cut Express 4 and added a background song from my collection of purchased iTunes songs.
The file seemed fine, it converted and saved fine, and even when I burned it on DVD and played it back as a DVD on the computer, everything seemed fine.
When I took the dvd to be played at the clients house in their DVD player, the background music was gone.
Any idea why?
Everything else played ok, but the song track was missing and not playing at all.

That would be a very interesting extension of DRM.
So, just confirming, you had an FCE project, included an iTunes song, exported the video, imported it into iDVD, burned a DVD ... and the resulting DVD played fine on your computer but not on a DVD player. And the DVD was not a data DVD, it was a playable DVD, right?

Missing CD Track Titles

I composed some music with Garageband and I want to burn them to a music CD but when I do this the track titles are missing once the CD gets burned... is there something that I'm doing wrong? I burned it as a music CD should I change it to an MP3?

Tracknames are not part of CDDA definitions
But what you can do to make your disk recognized by CDDB: After having burned your disk from iTunes Menu Advanced select "Submit CD Track Names".
After that it will take some hour or a few days but after that CDDB will identify your disk.
As iTunes under normal conditions keeps track of burned CDs, you can do that at any time on the machine where the CD has been created.

Bought an album, and think it's missing a track.

One of my favorite composers is Isaac Albeniz and I saw that they had a complete set of his piano music on iTunes, and I get it, and begin listening to it, only to notice that his most famous work, Austurias is nowhere to be found on the CD. It is part of a suite, This is part of the reason I bought this cd because I assumed that "Complete" meant "Complete" at least within a reasonable degree of what is still around nowadays. I at the very least thought that since it had the suite, it would have the whole suite, as everything else it has seems to be complete. Who do I contact to ask about if it truly is missing a piece of music?

I was looking at the Albeniz Complete Piano Works by pianist Miguel Baselga. Is that the one you bought? It does have "Asturias."
If you bought a different one, was "Asturias" in the track listing?
Also, note that Asturias is sometimes listed as "Leyenda."

Wireless trackpad: misses clicks, tracks poorly right to left

Using Yosemite, iMac 5K, wireless keyboard and magic trackpad
The trackpad sometimes misses a click and sometimes doubles the click. I know that the "click" is registered by the little buttons on the bottom of the trackpad. It is on a tidy hard surface and I know the buttons are getting moved. It feels like maybe it misses if I hold the button down longer than it wants me to. But then sometimes it just plain doesn't respond. (Yes, the battery is still good, showing 81% but this phenomenon has been happening since the pad and batteries were new.) Oh, I see more now while I'm typing. If the cursor shows as a little pointy arrow, the click doesn't register. If it shows as a double-ended vertical input cursor, it does register. This perhaps means that even though the pointer has actually moved, the computer hasn't seen it.
But then sometimes one click registers as two. For example, I try to position the mouse and end up with a word (or, worse, the name of a file in the finder) selected instead. I have changed settings in accessibility to make the double click speed slightly slower, which I think might have improved the behavior a bit. On the other hand, with the previously mentioned issue when the click doesn't seem to register. When I then do another click to make it actually see the move, that is when a double or triple click will happen. This is for moves of multiple inches with more than a split second in between.
I also find that the trackpad doesn't register movement reliably especially when I am trying to move it by pushing right to left across the pad. I can position it so that multiple light strokes on the pad don't move the cursor at all. Again, this happens when the cursor is not "expecting" typing. For example, in this support communities entry box with the arrow showing instead of the vertical input thingie.
It isn't really predictable when the problem is going to appear. As you can imagine, this makes "mouse ahead" input pretty dangerous - renaming files, deleting bodies of text with the Undo not being available anymore because of going too fast.
I already returned one of these trackpads as defective. Now I'm thinking that this is actually just the design behavior of the thing. Perhaps a pad from some other mfgr would work more reliably?
[p.s. I wish if it is going to show me the time of last autosave that it would use the local system display time, not the current time in California.]

I hope they can fix it. When my macbook came back from apple after having another issue fixed, the button was pivoting around the middle, meaning you could only click in the middle, not the edge. Too it back, they replaced the top case and it came back with the same problem. It now in again having the top case replaced again.
They're now telling me that it's "normal". It wasn't like that when I bought it!
