HT2736 Why Gifting Playlists is NO LONGER an Option?!?

We used to be able to gift playlists--but not since iTunes 11 released. Why? This feature was brilliant and led me to spend much more. I imagine it is just one of the many concessions Apple has to make with the studios, but why don't they say so. The silence makes me feel like Apple is parenting me. Once again, it seems that the more successful Apple grows, the more out-of-touch they become. At the very least offer an explanation--please. From my position--the apple smells rotten.

Why is "due date" no longer an option in the reminders app?

The only radio buttons available when I try to create a reminder are to remind me on a day or at a location. This is not helpful, how do I get the due date radio button back? The whole purpose of reminders is make a "to do list" but if you can't add due dates it kinda defeats the purpose, especially if I need these items to appear on my calendar on the actual due date...not a reminder date. I am looking into a third party MPEG2 decoder.Your line of thought is a bit confusing. Compressor is an encoder and not (as far as I know) an MPEG-2 decoder. If you are migrating from a PPC G5 that had the old QT MPEG-2 component installed (i.e. v6.3 and before) to an Intel G5, then you simply need to update your QT component to the newer v6.4 QT MPEG-2 component. Assuming you purchased the original component from online from Apple, all you need to do is go to your software download area and re-download the current package which now contains both v6.3 and v6.4 universal binary components.
If, on the other hand, you really want a third-party MPEG-2 encoder, my preference is the Innobits "bitVice Pro" application. Would buy it myself if I did not already have the old Apple MPEG-2 encode component, Compressor, Toast, and iVCD already installed. (Just too cheap to spend the $349 for something I already have even if I do believe it has the best output I've seen.)

what kind of connection do you have? do you use the ipod 30 pin cable that connects directly to the head unit? it so, maybe you could get help on the alpine site, or a similar site?it could just be a bad connection. you may just have to go oldschool and use rca cables and plug those in...

I normally have to send the card over and over again to my daughters account and it takes her 2 hours to et it. Why does it take so long?

I don't think that anyone here can answer that question. We are not Apple employees and would not know what the actual process is that takes place when you send a gift card. I don't think that is totally unusual for the card to take a couple of hours to go through, but like I said, I don't know what the behind the scenes process is that is involved.
Why you have to keep sending the card is another matter but maybe it has something to do with your email provider and a delay on the server.

Problems gifting playlist - order randomized and Error 1008

I can purchase music fine, so I know my account is indeed working.
But when I try to gift a playlist via the iTunes Store, 2 errors keep occuring:
1. Track order gets randomized. (Not that it'd matter, but I don't have shuffle checked.) Each time I try clicking the "Give Playlist" button, the list opens in the Store in a different random track order, numbered incorrectly. It's only an issue because these tracks need to play in order.
2. More important, I can't finalize the purchase. I get all the way to the last screen, after entering my password, but when I finally click "Buy Gift" I get this error popup:
"*We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (1008). There was an error in the iTunes Store.* Please try again later."
This has been happening all day -- even though I can purchase songs for myself just fine.
What should I do? This is time sensitive. I'm doing this through iTunes rather than burning a CD and giving it away because I feel strongly about paying for music. Bummer not to have any info on this.

BTW, does anyone know why the playlist order gets randomly changed when I try to gift a playlist? It's confounding, I keep having to cancel and try again until, randomly, the order is right -- which can take quite a while with 5 tracks!

Why does it take so long to import a CD onto iTunes?

Whenever I try to import CDs onto iTunes, I literally have to let it import overnight before an album is finished. I thought it might be a hardware problem, so I got an external disk drive for my laptop. It didn't make any difference. Why does iTunes take so long, and is there any way to import/rip CDs faster?

sorrry i dont buy that whole firewall issue. it just doesn't make sense. no disrespect. please I have an issue where I downloaded a cd. Published it and all of the songs except for the one that i had unchecked and another one all synced to Itunes. why did that one song (Al Green "For the Good Times" not be accepted yet it is on the interface of Itunes but by itself and the only way I can play it is if I click on the file on the right that says "untitled playlist". go figure. not to dog out your issue if someone could help me out with this problem it would be helpful. thanks mike.

Why is it taking so long to process my order?

Hey, I ordered CS6 Production Premium from the Education store on the 13th of September and my order staus is still pending.
I also uploaded my college ID on the Customer Support Portal on the 16th and it says "Pending Adobe Response".
Could anyone help me out here as to what's going on. Why is my order not being processed? Its becoming quite frustrating waiting for the order to be processed when it said Adobe would respond to my case within a couple of days of me uploading my college ID and dispatch the software soon after.
Can anyone help me out as to why its taking Adobe so long to process my order and how much longer do I need to wait before I can finally use the software...

Why is it taking so long to back up on my external hard drive?

I have a WD 1TB 3.0 USB external hard drive & im transfering 200GB of data.
Why is it taking so long to back up all my data onto my exernal hard drive using time machine?
I turn it on every day for about 12 hours to backup.
I think it will take about 4-5 days to complete, is this normal?

Some product downloads are up to 1.6GB; that can take some time - very much depending on your Internet connection. Check http://www.download-time.com/
For a test, I just downloaded Illustrator CC 2014 (1.6 GB), and the download completed within 13 minutes (and I am 10,000 km away from the Adobe download servers).
Try downloading from http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-2014-direct-download-links.html - make sure you follow the Very Important Instructions on that page.

Yes, I was able to finally download two out of three of my applications. I waited three hours to get two pieces of software, and I still need to download one more application.
While talking to the customer service department in India, I was told that I could not get help in bypassing my slow Internet connection. Even though I have been a loyal and law abiding customer for thirteen years, Adobe's customer service department treated me like a piece of crap. All I wanted to do is get my applications on cd, so I can bypass the buggy and long downloading periods. I tried desperately to explain: (1) I have been a loyal customer for thirteen years, (2) I bought and committed to a yearly subscription, (3) I have followed Adobe's legal rules since day one, (4) I have no problems with the software's DRM, and (5) I love and support Adobe products.
Regardless about how much I sympathized with Adobe's position, I could not get your customer service department to 'care about me'. I walked away feeling depressed and defeated.
As a result of going through a horrible customer service experience, while also struggling with the change to cloud, I started to think about a change in career. Why do I want to be a graphic and web designer? I spent a crap load of money on an education, so that I can become a slave to the industry's dominate software maker. If it was not for the fact that Adobe's software is the industry's standard, the recent events with your customer service department would have made me walk away.
It sucks that your company has a 90% strangle hold on the industry I love.

And what specifically? You need to provide much more info. anyway, if the extraction takes longer than half an hour, start over or manualyl extract the files from teh 7z archive using WinZip or WinRar.

i I always download over wifi don't use a PC for iOS downloads
