    As long as it's a gift for a monetary amount and not for a specific item, yes. You can use that to purchase anything in the iTunes Store other than another gift for someone else.

    Regarding redeeming the gift card to the child's account, it is the same as redeeming to yours.  You have to be signed in to the iTunes store using the child's apple ID, then redeem the gift card there.  If you already redeemed the card on your ID, you won't be able to redeem it again.

    Yes you can.  All Ipad's are unlocked and can be used any where in the world. Buy the AT&T version which is GSM in other countries

    Check the account area of the iTunes Store window on the right to check the balance. You must use the credit remaining, no refunds.
