HT2845 do I need to pair the magic mouse each time I switch it off.

Do I need to pair the magic mouse each I switch it off, or should the mouse be left in the on position all the time.

It should pair automatically when switched back on. Having said that, I never turn BT devices off unless I am gone for a long time. BT devices automatically go into a low power mode after a short time of non-use.

Hi kajbj,
Java guys are mostly using TOMCAT,so for me it seems to be the best place. That's not correct. Most people who are writing stuff for the web might be using Tomcat, but there are lots and lots of Java applications that aren't for the web.
Is there any other reason behind your question.Yes, this forum is named "New to Java" and Tomcat questions shouldn't be asked here, even if people knows the answer to you question. You will probably get better and more detailed answers in a Tomcat forum. All othe guys there are actually using Tomcat, and they know the small differences between the different versions, and how they behave on different operating systems. They do also know if you need to make configurations changes, and where you should make them.
So in future, please ask questions in a forum that is specific to the product that you are using.

• HT201186 Fails to note the need to click the magic mouse after replacing batteries.

It might be necessary to click the magic mouse to get it to reconnect after changing batteries.
That has always been the case with my 2014 iMac and magic mouse that came with the iMac.

• Am I supposed to have to Pair the Magic Mouse evertime?

If I turn the MM off, I have to repair it to my MBP every time I turn the mouse on. Is this right?
Also, this new mouse doesn't sit flat on the table, it slightly rocks, so the runners on the bottom are not even. I just got this today, and it may be going back.

Well, to update my own question...
Here's what I have found. With the MBP up and running, I can pair with the mouse and all works well. If I turn off the mouse, the MBP pops up a lost connection. If I turn the mouse back on, it does not connect.
If I turn off the mouse after turning off the MBP and on before powering up the MBP, all is well.
Also, Apple is sending a new mouse. Can't stand the rocking mouse on my desk. I also tried it on a piece of glass to insure it wasn't my desk, and it still rocks.
Apple was very good about sending a new one.

Why a magic mouse divours batteries? Why does it loose connection evey few minutes? Can I have it replaced?

Hello again,
Just idly thinking about your post mentioning you had only had it for 4 or 5 days. Such a problem rarely gets better with time, were you suggesting you hoped it would improve, in other words?
I can see you are now aware of the packing option but if you are using Apple, Duracell or Energiser batteries packing it out should not be necessary. Any other batteries I cannot speak for.
One buys Apple because of its' reputation against other products; you will be helping to maintain that by asking for an exchange. You will feel better for it, and speak better of it.
Forgive me if the opinion is a touch biased; I've been very lucky with my iMac purchase and the only exchange I ever made only enhanced my view of Apple; it went so smoothly.
Thank you for the star.

• Use of the Magic Mouse

Is it necessary to pair the Magic Mouse with the computer every time y boot or reboot my computer? For the moment there is a Bluetooth USB Host Controller plugged in one of the USB terminators of the keyboard, to enable Bleutooth.

Thx for the reply William, but the situation is still the same. The mouse is now one of the favourite devices, but there is no change in the way things go.
Even if I leave the power switch on (on the Magic Mouse), the Bluetooth preference panel is lounged after starting the computer. And there is no mouse found. If I switch the mouse off and back on again the computer reports the mouse. And only after the second attempt the computer is able to pair to the mouse. Ones that is done the device works fine.

Hello
Simple problem - don,t know how to solve it.
With Premiere CC when I try to do a selection (click... drag... release the click) very often it stop way before the end of the move I'm swinging the Magic Mouse. I taught that the mouse clicking was defective and went to get a new Magic Mouse after lots of frustration. Today, I have an edit to do it it does the SAME thing !!
I was like ????#$%?&*(???
Opened all the lights and taught I've trow the new mouse to the garbage and was using the defective mouse again... no !! - ??
Actually, the bran new mouse is doing the same thing. What I understand after investigating on the motion and watching carefully my fingers !! - is that when I click I have to keep my finger at the EXACT same place on the mouse... drag and release and it's fine. If I click by pushing on the mouse and my finder is moving of a 1/32th of a millimeter, it will release and my selection will be to redo. You can understand my frustration ! - 75$ later... same problem, but I know that if I click with about 5 pounds of pressure and trying to pass my finger through the plastic of the mouse, it you stay steady and make it !
The problem is that scrolling is enable while clicking and it bugs.
How to disable it ??
Simple question - can't find the answer !

Helllooo !?
sorry but the Magic Mouse is just useless with the new Adobe Premiere CC and since I'm not the only one but can't find answer this is really disappointing. This mouse is just fantastic and now I have to swap from a USB mouse to the Magic Mouse every times I do some editing. My USB mouse if hurting my hand somehow and I want to got back to the Magic Mouse asap. Please - for sure there is a simple solution !
Thanks !!

• HT204387 iPAD mini iOS 6.1 can pair keyboards, why not the Magic Mouse?

I need to access a site that requires click & drag with my iPad Mini. Has anyone figured out a work-around to get the MAGIC MOUSE to pair with the iPAD Mini? I am having trouble understanding why it won't pair. Can Apple make an update to iOS 6.1 to include the MM? It already can pair many other Bluetooth accessories, why not mice?

Thank you KPenguin. I understand now, though I still can't 'click & drag' items in Kano games. The 2 second hold that works for rearranging app icons doesn't seem to work. Guess I'll be returning my new MMouse, which is a shame. I was looking forward to playing around with all it's cool features! :)
Note to self: Mouse needs active cursor to work! Haha (it's a duh moment here!!) o.O

Intel iMac; upgraded adobe flash; bluetooth keyboard no longer pairs but magic mouse still OK. With Bluetooth switched on the screen splits into 4 areas and open windows seperate and shrink. Switch off Bluetooth and problem disappears and iMac works OK with plug-in keyboard and mouse

Hi, Derek -
...the screen splits into 4 areas and open windows seperate and shrink.
Sounds like Spaces is being activated somehow. With the wired keyboard and mouse in use, select the Exposé & Spaces control pane in System Preferences, click the choice in that pane for Spaces. See what the settings are. There are some activation settings in that pane - by default, F8 activates it.
It could be that the bluetooth keyboard has some stuck keys and is activating Spaces; or that the activation command has somehow been reset to something that the bluetooth mouse, or bluetooth itself, is triggering.

• Can the Magic Mouse be paired with the original iPad?

Can the Magic Mouse be paired with the original iPad ?

No, neither the first nor the second gen iPad supports a mouse - there is no cursor for a mouse to control, all you have on the iPad is an insertion point when entering or amending text

• HT4111 does the magic mouse pair with an ipad?

Does the magic mouse work with an ipad?

bburik, I do not think so. Ipad is all touch screen, and the pointer will not show up on the ipad. The ipad is made to only be touch screen. But what you can do, is buy an external keyboard for the ipad, and then you can at least type with an actuall keyboard. But no magic mouse.

• How do I uninstall the Magic Mouse driver or downgrade it?

I am using the magic mouse.
However, I want to use one button bluetooth mouse instead of magic mouse.
That old mouse isn't paired with macbook pro.
I think the driver should be downgraded for old one.
How do I uninstall the driver for magic mouse and reinstall it for the old one?

Hello sure:
Welcome to Apple discussions.
I do not think you need (or want) to play with the drivers.
Go to system preferences>bluetooth. Disconnect the device (highlight it and use the little gear. Delete it with the minus sign.
Now add the mouse you want into your system (gear and +).

• The magic mouse eats so many batteries

The Magic Mouse eats so many batteries, i need to change the batteries every 4 weeks. Apple should make a reachargable Magic Mouse!!

Yeah,
This mouse has been around for nearly 5, count 'em, 5 years and it still has this issue?
Why hasn't Apple STILL NOT dealt with getting better battery performance out of this design when it has had nearly five years to do be able to deal with this!!!??
I don't get it!
And it only seems to be a lingering issue with the MM.
The Apple wireless keyboard and trackpad seem to do much better with battery life than the MM.
I wonder if it is the small form factor and it has too many conponents stuffed inside to make a modification to,improve the battery life.
Such a shame as I think these work wonderfully and are cool, but can't replacing expensive lithium batteries every three to four months.
I have two really great, older IR style wireless mice I still use from Logitech and Microsoft and these work great and last, at least, six to months to nearly nine months on a pair of Lithium ion batteries.
