How do you empty the recycle bin in itunes

If you have duplicates I'd recommend you read this thread I mentioned in your other thread. It is possible to have duplicates where the same file is referenced twice in the library. If you delete and discard one copy you may find the other no longer works. This is one of the concepts that prompted the development of my DeDuper which should remove duplicates safely.

Its worth adding that if you deleted the song using iTunes, you will need to add the track to your library with File>>Add file to library" after restoring it from the recycle bin.

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries), and whether it's still in the store, you might be able to re-download it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes, and the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone - if other music appears there but not that album (and the album is still in the store), then check to see if it's hidden : hiding and unhiding.

HT2905 How do you display duplicates in iTunes 11? I cannot find it.

I downloaded the latest iTunes version, 11, and now can't find "display duplicates" anywhere.

Note that, as with the iTunes feature, this lists make no distinction between "originals" and "dupes", you have to decide which is which.
There is also my DeDuper script for automatically removing duplicates copies but keeping one remaining copy of each set. This can preserve ratings, play counts, playlist membership, etc. which are lost in a manual clean up. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background on deduping and the script.
If you want to manually remove duplicate tracks use shift-delete to remove selected tracks from the library as well as the playlist. Keep one of each repeated group of files and don't send the others to the recycle bin unless you are sure that there are multiple files on the disc as opposed to multiple entries to the same file. Same advice to backup applies.

How to exclude recycling bin from tablespace usage calculations

I have a generic query to tell me how much of a given tablespace is used. I want to exclude objects in the recycling bin.
in dba_segments these segments all have names that begin with BIN$
This is not the case in dba_extents where we get the calculations from. How do I exclude objects in the recylcing bin? Basically how do I exclude segments in dba_extents that are in the recycling bin

You could join the two views or you could use dba_segments rather than extents in your query or you could use the built-in functionality rather than writing your own.

Hi,
I installed Oracle 10g R2 in windows 2003, then log in SQL * plus with sys as sysdba, try to use the following command to disable the RECYCLE BIN functionality which is new feature in Oracle 10g R2.
SQL> alter system set "_RECYCLEBIN"=FALSE SCOPE=BOTH;
I got the error: illegal option for ALTER SYSTEM
What do I miss? any comments are appreciative.

You can't really "hide" content within the iTunes interface, though at a push you could mislabel some of your Music tracks as Audiobooks if you don't mind the wrong content showing up in that section of the library.
Perhaps if you tell us the primary reason for wanting to hide things we might be able to suggest an alternative approach.

Hiding these links with CSS is a "band-aid" fix. Users are still downloading the HTML for these controls, and users that don't use CSS will still see them in their entirety. The best option is to remove them from your site's master page entirely.
First, look for the following lines of code in your master page. This code renders the "View All Site Content" link:

Until then you will have to resort to sorting by a particular label such as artist and manually scanning, third party utilities such as Dougscripts Dupin (Mac) or https://discussions.apple.com/message/20570956 (Windows) to deal with duplicates, or revert back to iTunes 10.7.

And also when i give flashback it is showing that object not in recyclebin..

u can enable flash back as
SQL> shutdown immediate;

HT1414 iphone wont restore due to recycle bin being full

I keep getting an error message saying "The Iphone could not be restored. The disk you are attempting to use is full. Removing files & emptying the recyle bin will free up additional space."
I.ve emptied the recycle bin on my computor but its still giving the message is there a recycle bin on the itunes or iphone that i need to empty as i cant find one?

You need to free up more space on your hard drive. There is no recycle bin in iTunes. iTunes makes a time/date stamped backup whenever you restore. This backup can be 6GB"s or more in size & is kept separate from your normal iPhone backup. Normally iTunes only keeps one backup per iOS device & this backup is overwritten each time you sync. The exception is backups created from restore points. These are time/date stamped & not overwritten.
