I have the curren version of Itune and do not see how to find duplicates.
The show duplicates feature is now under the View menu. Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Or use my DeDuper script if you don't want to do it by hand. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed)

HT1751 I can't find File-Library-Organize on the current version of ITunes. Where is it?
I switched to a different User on Windows 7 and lost most of my Itunes music. I found an option for Itunes to find the lost music. This seemed to work great. All my playlists came back. However, today I learned that it kept all the found music in the other library on a different drive. So, I want to merge this other library into my main one. All the online methods use an option under "File" which does not seem to exist any more.
I have checked the option to consolidate my music but it did not work for the "find lost music" process.
Can anyone help with the current version of Itunes? Or, like the backup, has Apple removed another essential ability?In iTunes 11, the File menu is on the Menu Bar. If you don't see the Menu Bar, enable it by using the shortcut CTRL+B.

I am trying to update my iphone 3GS software but itunes just says that this is the current version of itunes, it does not see the phone update - anyone know how to get the phone updated?

I have done that and it is through pressing that update, which tells me that there is anew version of iphone software, that the prompt comes telling me that this is the current itunes? -
When I start iTunes, how do I get rid of the message "To use this machine for downloads, enter you Apple ID and password" which I now see twice since I downloaded the latest version of iTunes. Once is enough and no checkbox exists to say "do not show this message....."

Those steps don't work. I'm using the lastest version of itunes (11.0.1.12) on Windows. This article was last updated in 2009 and lists itunes 7.7. Anyone have any ideas, or is there a new article that accounts for the changes to itunes?

In the corner of the window, you should see your ipod show up in the upper right corner. Click this, and you will see the summary of your nano. Then you can sync.

I have Lightroom 4.4 installed on my iMac 27. I've looked on the Adobe web site to see if I can just upgrade my installation, but don't see an option for this short of "buying" Lightroom 5.
Ned, I need to modify my reply to your answer. I do actually see an upgrade method on the web site, but it seems to require a monthly fee. My situation (cruising in my boat to Mexico and then to the South Pacific) does not lend itself to such an approach since it is unlikely that I'll have ready access to "The Cloud". I prefer a one-time upgrade to the software installed on my computere if that's available.

File sharing and the "current version" feature
hi,
i see that there is a "current version" feature while using the file sharing features in "creative cloud".
How can I use this feature ?
ie. change or add versions to show up in the same area above to be used for communication with customers/clients etc.
-Where can i go to offer suggestions to this part of CC ?
-I would really love to see greater features for commenting, file sharing, and basically overall colaboration.

Then all you need to do is open a file in your Creative Cloud Files folder, make an edit and save the file with the same name. A new version will appear. -
Can anyone give me advice about the question above. I have downloaded ios7, have downloded latest iTunes and now can't see devices in iTunes. Using Windows 8 (horrible), which just jumps me into questions about pictures
Are you saying that when you connect your iPad to your computer an application starts on your computer to download photos? This is how you copy photos from your Camera Roll on your iPad to your computer. You may have the photo capture application to run automatically when a camera is connected to your computer. Your iPad is recognized as a camera and this is normal behavior depending on the settings on your computer.
You can either change the settings to not have the image capture application run automatically or you can just quit that application manually. You might want to copy the photos to your computer first so as to have a backup of the photos.
If you quit the image capture application you can then run iTunes. I suggest, in iTunes that you use the View menu to View Sidebar. Your iPad will then appear in the left sidebar of iTunes. Select your iPad in the left Sidebar of iTunes and then you will be ps enter with a row of tabs allowing various choices. -

My last computer died, but before it did, I copied my bookmark file onto a USB flash drive. How do I use that to import my bookmarks to this new computer, since I don't see any import option like I did on my other computer???

Because that has nothing to do with burning CDs.
Select the playlist in iTunes.
Go to iTunes menu File > Burn playlist to CD.
