HT2905 When i use itunes to transfer photos from my pc to my iphone it transfers two duplicate folders onto the phone. One called photo library the other the name of the folder i transfered. I dont want the photos on my phone twice
Hi. I hope someone can help.
I have just downloaded itunes onto my pc.
Firstly when my iphone is plugged in and i open itunes it does not have a picture/photo folder under my phone listing.
Secondly when i go to photos from the top of screen and tick sync. It asks me to select the folder i want to sync with phone which i do. I then press apply and it transfers all the photos from that folder to my phone BUT it does it twice! I end up with two folders with the same photos. One named as per folder on pc and the other named photo library. I am not able to delete either of them. If i go back to itunes and unsync it deletes them both.
I have been trying for hours now.
If i just try to do it from my pc ie right click and send to iphone it wont do it just says phone not responding or disconnected
Any ideas?
You do NOT have duplicates. This is how Apple handles photos.
Just as a song is in your Itunes Library and that exact same song can be accessed from a playlist, all synced photos are in the Photo Library and those exact same photos can be accessed from the album.

If you purchased music with multiple Apple IDs, you have to authorize the computer for all of them. However, you're allowed to authorize up to 5 computers with one Apple ID. That means you have to look for other methods when you have already authorized 5 computers. -
I am unable to use itunes to tranfer appln from my laptop to Iphone 4. I uninstall and reinstalled. But still when I connect the phone to PC , itunes is not launching.
One thing you should definitely try is keeping your iPhone 4 connected via USB cable in your computer and restarting. This should make the computer recognize that it is connected and as long as you have your iTunes set up to automatically open upon connection with your iPhone you should be all set!

When syncing my iTunes to my iPad from the laptop, I get a list of missing songs; they are in the library, but not in the music folder on my HD. In particular, I uploaded 3 CDs at the same time, all are in my library, and all synced to the iPad - but the music from two of them are missing from the music folder. It sounds like your issue here is that iTunes can not find the files for some of the songs you have brought into it. This happens occasionally even if the songs have not been moved from the location that iTunes places them on import or purchase. When you try to use the song, iTunes prompts you to find the file, as you have seen.

My ipad 1 is stuck on IOS 4 as these IOS 5 update instructions do not work. When I use itunes update the software looks for an IOS 5 software update file and the apple site doesn't seem have one anywhere!
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

If I have converted my purchased iTunes songs to a lower bit rate what will happen when I join iTunes match? Will they match up or will these be stored as duplicates of the same song?
I ask because I primarily use my work laptop which has limited space so I usually convert my purchases to 160k from 256k in order to save space. I want to sign up for iTunes Match but I'd like to know before I do so I can understand how I will have to set up my library.crichton007 wrote:

How do you mean? If you down-convert purchased tracks you've fundamentally changed the files so iTunes can no longer recoginize them as "purchased." And, indeed, they no longer are since they are brand new files. Of course these new files will only be "matched" or "uploaded." -

You cannot drag pics from computer to iphone. This has never been a feature of iphone.
You sync them as you would anything esle.
You select photos from the photos tab. Whatever is selected will be on your iphone. Anything not selected will not be. Make sure that everything you want on your iphone is selected, then sync. -

That's the metadata server, used by Spotlight. AFAIK, Spotlight does not index audio CDs, so what is this about? I don't know. Maybe it's the cause of what you observe; or maybe it's another symptom. Thinking again of the network issue… have you maybe installed some third-party software related to both Spotlight and the network (Searchlight perhaps)? -
